This place is amazing. It’s so good in fact, that my dad and I actively try to find something we don’t enjoy there. We haven’t found anything yet, it’s all spectacular.

LOVEDLOVEDLOVED this place. Went there with my mom and we were so pleasantly surprised by everything. The atmosphere when you walk in was perfect, and clearly the place was popular. Our server was friendly and attentive even though it was super busy that day. Their name doesn’t mislead you. They had a fine selection of delicious beers on tap and sold by the bottle as well. Even my mom branched out and tried a British beer, which our server helped her select(she really liked it!) and I was happy that they had Green Goblin cider available for me as well. I ordered the Fish Sandwich, which was to die for. The fish was so incredibly fresh and tender on the inside, crispy on the outside. Everything was delicious — I wasn’t sure if my mom would be happy with British fare, but she LOVED her meal(can’t recall what she ordered, but it was very British) but I was so happy that she enjoyed herself just as much as I did. I’ve been craving some delicious food from 19 Handles and am looking forward to taking my boyfriend there for our next date night!

They close early sometimes when they don’t feel busy enough. Disappointing… I asked for a wine list and the blonde bartender laughed at me and said here’s the list«noir, merlot, or cab». I reluctantly replied, «I’ll take whatever the noir is». Then, I opened a menu and saw a nice wine list with many options. The new guy had just uncorked the bottle of noir. I apologized to him and explained that I had found many choices that were not offered and would like the red blend instead. She overheard and ran out and said ‚” Excuse me ma’am but we are closing in ten minutes. It’s last call”. It is exactly 10:27pm and the posted closing hour is Midnight :(

Had an event to go to so me and a friend stopped in here to grab a drink so I can only reaaaaaaally judge it based off of the beer. It was nice though, the service was on point and we had a few of them consistently checking up on us to see how things are going. Also, they would grab and replace the water when the cups were empty rather than asking each time if we would like more. That was awesome in my book. The spot is clean, I like the decorations, and the beer selection is good. They also have a pint night on Wednesday where if you get a pint you can keep the glass. I might be tempted to come back when I can hit a happy hour or on a Wednesday to try out some of the food offerings here.

Great and informed service even though there was a crowd. Awesome fries, fish and chips. Schnitzel was slightly burnt, dry, over cooked. Wish they had red cabbage to go with it but the tomatoes and cucumbers were nice. Bacon cheeseburger was deemed mediocre. Patty was too thin to be cooked medium rare. Nice atmosphere. Hope it succeeds. It seems popular but the food we tried needs some tweaking.

Was ridin’ around with my husband looking for something to eat, hopped on Unilocal and saw 19 Handles nearby. Stopped in, grabbed a seat and started looking at the menu. The server gal came over promptly to greet us. We were starving, so we quickly found something to eat, ordered food, then ordered a beer, got beer, got food. Beer was good. Food was good. I was super stoked to learn they had happy hour EVERYDAY at 4. But damn it! They didn’t say anything about it so I didn’t notice the little happy hour deal on our table til I was already eating. I’m a light eater so I totally woulda ordered off of it. But, that’s not a big deal. Overall-my review is this: service was good, food was good and our order came out correct and in a reasonable amount of time. If in the area again and cravin’ a good burger and beer, I’d stop in.

The food was okay and the waitress nice. But 50-minutes for a Buffalo ranch chicken sandwich? And the group who sat down after I did got their food first? Their explanation. «Sorry, they’re still working on your food.» I hope they were slaughtering a farm fresh chicken in the back and harvesting the potatoes from the garden. The cooking staff needs to get their role straight.

Came here tonight for a good Scotch Egg– they did NOT disappoint. Everything we had tonight was incredible. From that Scotch Egg, to the Pork Schnitzel & Bavarian Goulash… to the AMAZING Apple Strudel. Everything was delicious! We will be back again to finish eating our way thru the menu. The only negative would be that the service was a little backed up(it was crowded but HEY that just confirms that the place was great). Our server, Becky, was extremely courteous and pleasant. We would be willing to wait a little extra time for the food. Without question.

Great place to hang out. It a nice clean local neighborhood pub. It’s not loud in there so it’s easy to have a nice conversation with your friends. A few TVs for entertainment. I tried their wings and they were really good. They have a thin crispy coating on them and some nice heat that comes a little later. Not a big beer fan but whatever I had was tasty. I wish it was a little closer to home.

These guys serve a great hamburger and the fish & chips is done well, too. Always a good beer selection with a mix of well known and local. Friendly staff are happy to help you choose, if you don’t know what you are looking for.

Stopped into this place on Saturday afternoon for lunch. I’m always on the look out for a good beer spot. I was a little disappointed by the beer on tap — a lot of the big name beers with only a couple of local breweries. I felt bad for the bartender/waitress as she was the only one working the entire place. She was doing her best but it took her awhile to get our order. The place was a little warm, didn’t seem like the AC was on. I was sweating by the end of my meal. I got a turkey panini and the turkey meat appeared to be packaged sandwich meat? I expected fresh turkey. My husband got the french dip and he liked it. Overall, I would not come back when there are lots of other brew pubs with better beer on tap and much better food.

Stopped in for a quick nibble. Surprise happy Hour prices! Yay Fried Artichoke. Gently battered. Not heavy or greasy. Quite tasty. Chicken bites dabbed in a warm BBQ sauce. Yummy Beer choice were also tasty. Old Speckled Hen. And Kilt Lifter. Yum. Nonetheless. It’s 4pm on a weekday. Lovely to sit in the sunshine and enjoy this place. Super friendly staff.

This is a great little find in the Arden-Arcade area. I’m usually very weary about restaurants in strip malls but after much prodding from friends I ventured in. 19 Handles is a great little pub serving a variety of beers on tap and even more in the bottle. They have a wonderful selection that is sure to please the craft brew enthusiast. The menu is a mixture of an irish and german pub fare. The highlight of the menu is the pork schnitzel. It took me back to my vacation in Germany and I highly recommend it. If you live in the area and don’t want to venture downtown for a good meal look no further than this little hidden gem!

19 Handles has more than 19 ways to my heart. Its nestled in a nondescript shopping center that more than likely wouldn’t catch your eye. Make the stop. Seriously. You don’t want to miss out on this place. Its THAT good. 19 Handles was formally the Kilt Pub and recently changed names. We stopped in for a super early lunch. We were greeted by Erika who is the hostess with the mostess. Sweet. Knowledgable. Attentive. GREAT service. As we eagerly perused the menu, and i entertained the idea of yet another burger, versus the fish n chips, i asked for recommendations. In my opinion, the difference between a waitress and a great waitress is one that will tell you exactly what IS good, and whats she’s tried. Erika encouraged me to go for the burger that I had been eyeing, mentioning that the fries were super good. I love me some good fries, and frankly, its one of the foods that seem difficult to find the ” best of” no matter where i dine. By the way, Erika was 100% correct about the burger. Im looking forward to going back for the fish n chips. She said they are pretty awesome too! We each ordered a Mushroom Guinness Burger,(check out the food pics!) and I’m craving one as i type this. This was a real beefy patty. Not one of those skinny, mom told you not to eat so much, but OMG its good, let me have another bite patties. It was juicy! Dripping goodness of mouth watering burger. The kind you search for, and often places fall short of fulfilling. The mushrooms were fresh and sautéed with guinness(YUM) The cheese was properly melted on the burger. The tomatoes were plentiful and super fresh. The best part… the lettuce. It wasn’t iceberg, but ROMAINE lettuce. *SCORE* i can’t think of one place that serves a burger with quality lettuce. I always ask for the iceberg to be taken off the burger. I will say that the lettuce overflowed, but i didnt care. It was crisp, fresh and added to the juicy burger experience. Just when you thought you were ready to run out now to get one… the fries. Just say yes. Skip the side salad silliness. The fries are THATAWESOME. They were hot, tasty, crisp, and not the kind you usually find next to your burger. I don’t know if they had a special coating on them, just give me M O R E! The menu is filled with a variety of burger choices, sandwiches, fish n chips and so much more. Whats really cool, if you love beer, this place is totally rockin with the«19 handles» of tap, and then some. They even offer a happy hour EVERYSINGLEDAY. Yes, I’m shouting that from the rooftop. Not many places offer a $ 1.00 off beer and wine, plus a handful of cheap eats for happy hour every single day of the week. If that doesnt make you run right over, its a great place to go hang with friends(there’s another large dining area next to the main room) watch TV,(there are three nice sized screens) and enjoy some really great«eats» This is one time that I can say that the pictures don’t do the food justice… ya gotta go try it!

Vibe /layout Came here on a friday night for a friends gathering. It wasn’t a busy night. We as a big group did take the outdoor seating. The outdoor seeing is inside a fenced off section, but no view but the parking lot and the nearby gas station. We had a big group so they setup multiple small tables to create a long table. In the inside they have a nice bar area and a private room for other small parties. Restrooms were clean and spacious. Drinks Average pricing for most drinks. Lowest price drink is $ 4 and up. Bottle of the black berry pear cider — $ 4 — This was a good choice, it was ind of tart and not too sweet. You can taste the berries for sure. Served in a bottle and not on tap, worth it. The water is served in a nice glass bottle. The problem is the water is tap and is not filtered. The water tasted raw and had a funny flavor to it. no good! i rather order a beer! Food I had a hard time choosing what to eat since i wanted everything! I end up getting the veggie shepherd pie! The server told me they use tofu instead of the hearty beef. The tofu sold me, so here i got the order and it came out about 10 to 15 mins later. The The bottom was the tofu filled with peas and carrot, and on top is the mash potato. The Tofu and veggie was flavorful, they used veggie broth to cook it is what i was told. The mash was kind of dry and not too much flavor, i don’t know if its because vegetarian dish. But i had to add a little bit of spice on top such as tobacco to give it a bit of kick. Overall the shepherd pie is ok but not the best i have tasted. In other words it was eh ok. This end up costing $ 12.95 for dinner price. Service Forgot my drink. Had to remind the server twice. Basically got my drink after my meal came out. Near the end the server made up for it by checking up on how the food tasted and brought the condiments quickly. As well the server was friendly and nice. Overall Had a good time. I want to come back for their happy hour and enjoy some of the appetizers such as scotch eggs! Will be back in near future.

I came here for a going away party at 9 p.m. on a Friday night. This was easy to find using my GPS and there was plenty of parking. Our group was seated outside. I’m not the biggest fan of sitting outside because I always get bitten by mosquitoes, but I survived this outing without a single bite. There were plenty of seats when I arrived. The place was virtually empty. There was a party about our size in the bar area and two other tables of two outside across the walkway from us. Our group sat to the left of the entrance with two entrances and exists to our table. It was a tight squeeze, but it allowed us to greet people as they arrived. I think it worked for our group. Food and drinks were passed either from the ends of the table or over the banister. I didn’t have an issue with this arrangement. The bathroom was right inside so we had easy access and it worked for my needs. Upon arrival the waitress seemed very flustered from the size of our party. She made some odd comments about not knowing if this would work. By the time we left there was only 19 people. The people arrived slowly. When I first arrived there was 5 people at the table. With the restaurant nearly empty I didn’t see the issue. Maybe the waitress was new or always worked on slow nights so seeing a full table might be overwhelming. No one ordered specialty dishes or drinks. I thought she should have felt blessed to have so many people to serve on a very slow night. Everyone was well behaved and ordered either drinks and a menu item or just a drink. No one complained. Service time was fine. My favorite was the plain fries. They were nice and crispy. The sweet potatoes fries were a bit too soft for me. The fish and chips had an extra think batter. I usually love the batter and break off the stray crunchy bits, but this one tasted strange. The fish inside was good. The burger was good. The bun was a bit on the hard side. If I came back I’d order a plate of fries. They were really good, coming from a very picky fry eater. In my opinion this was a great place for this event. Close enough to downtown if you want to go before and after. Not too busy or loud so you can actually carry on a conversation. Service was good. We didn’t have to wait forever for our drinks or meal. Seating was cozy, but that’s ok with all the other good stuff I’d do it here again.

On Friday night(9/25/2015,) my Unilocal friends and I were dining in at this pub called, «Kilt Pub.» Kilt Pub delivers the finest craft beers and wines as well as their comfort foods from wicked burgers to classic Irish entrees. As I entered the atmosphere and the concept is well remarkable. There’s the largest bar side on the right, so you can have all kinds of craft beers and wines available. The lounge side on the left is quite relaxing and comfortable, so you can enjoy everyday pleasures. The outdoor patio is not that bad although it’s quite small which it’s quite difficult to move in and out. Otherwise, it’s an alright outdoor patio. The service has done a fine job here as I welcomed here. The bartenders, hosts and servers are doing the customers very well no matter what food and drinks I ordered. No cons at all! I started order the Irish signature entrée: Shepard’s Pie. So far, their Shepard’s pie tasted very good. The seasoning and the flavors of the beef and vegetables underneath make this dish a favorable treat! The spreaded mashed potatoes on the top also tasted good too. The mashed potatoes spreads very well which I can feel the smoothness of it. Additionally, I also ordered the Track 7 Brewery’s Honey Blonde Ale, and it’s a great craft beer which I drank it. Not a bad complete dinner meal. There’s some parking available although it may gets packed on the night time, so be prepared. Otherwise, you can walk, ride a bike, or use public transportation easier without the hassles. In the end, Kilt Pub is a great Irish pub right here in the Arden/Arcade neighborhood. Perfect for happy hour pleasures and friends gatherings. A well, worthy visit.

I have driven by this place many times thinking it was just a bar with food. It’s much more of a grub pub, and it’s a damn good one at that! While planning a burger quest in Sacramento, a few people told me this place does up a pretty good burger. Last night I decided to check it out. As I walked in, I quickly realized this place wasn’t a neighborhood-corner dive bar at all(that would be next door DO’OH!). It is actually a pub as the name implies, and I know now where I am going in the winter when those draft Guinness Stout cravings start calling me to consume. The location of this place is a bit odd because it seems a little too great of place to be nestled into that particular corner of Arden and Eastern. I was impressed. Just a heads up though… If this place(and the bar next door) is hopping, parking may be problematic. There is a massive«display» of tap handles on the wall inside that represent local and regional craft breweries as well as iconic european(and other countries outside of Europe as well) breweries. Again just for display, but one can imagine if there were lines of beer piping into all those handles… You’d have to plan a week in advance to get a seat in there. Ha! Back to reality now… It was crowded but the tables that were available were clean. It appeared that the staff was on top of their game. I ordered the Guinness BBQ burger, based on our waiter’s advice(our waiter was a rock star. Friendly, prompt, and helpful). It consisted of house-ground beef, American cheese, crispy fried onions, pickles, crispy lettuce, fresh tomato, mayo & warm Guinness BBQ sauce. It came in at a very affordable $ 9.75. I swapped the American cheese for cheddar because American cheese is just friggin’ gross! Well, most the time anyway… I also decided to wash it down with 20 ounces of Panic from Track 7 brewing. I love that stuff. The Kilt Pub has 10 taps pouring consistent favorites that are printed on the menu. They also have six taps that switch out new offerings periodically. If you prefer your beer out of a bottle, this place definitely has you covered with a very respectable inventory(50+) of different styles of beer. I don’t know wine well, but they have a decent amount of it on their drinks menu. Our burgers came, and they looked impressive and yummy. They were! Unfortunately they overcooked my burger(well done) when I told them anywhere in between medium-rare and medium is what I wanted. Even overcooked, however, the burger was juicy and messy and quite tasty. The fries were better-than-average too. If this burger had been cooked the way I asked, this review would have received five stars. I will definitely be back to this place, and I will probably be dragging some beer buddies with me.
