I found Teresa through Livingsocial. Let me just say it was meant to be!!! My wife and I both booked her for same day and gladly took us in. OMG!!! She gave us the best stretch massage EVER!!! She is super sweet lady and knows her stuff! It was so pleasant having a good conversation with her before and after massage. I will DEFINITELY go see her again!

I would advise people to avoid this practice. I was referred by another masseuse who cancelled my appointment last minute. THAT cancellation will be written about separately. Probably a mistake on my part to accept referral info from someone who cancelled last minute, so shame on me. I booked, explained that my other appointment with her«friend» was cancelled. I confirmed my appointment the night before & the morning of the appointment she cancelled. My effort to do something nice for a friend was wiped out by this nonsense. I’d avoid booking with this business or people that they recommend. Maybe it’s a game they play to pass people around and cancel on them for laughs. I’m not amused.

Teresa was very friendly during my appointment. Unfortunately, that’s all the kind thoughts I can say. I bought a LivingSocial voucher for myself and my husband. 1) The first incident was when she called me back so I could book an appointment. Usually when you call someone, you should not be talking to another person at the same time. When I picked up the phone all I could hear were people talking. I had no idea who she was or if it was the wrong number. 2) She called to confirm the appointment which was nice… but the appointment time was incorrect. I texted her back with the correct time. 3) Teresa greeted me and was very nice. She mentioned several times that her appointments earlier in the day ran late. A gentleman had an appointment before me and we all chatted as he exited the massage room and as he paid Teresa. This was all fine, but the time was already 4:40pm(my appointment was at 4:30pm). Usually if an appointment is running late, the masseuse should take time in the next appointment. This is especially the case if she said all the other appointments were running late. 4) While Teresa cleaned the room before my appointment she made a personal phone call. Okay great, she can multi-task. I was allowed into the massage room to change and while I waited for her, she made another phone call! 5) Throughout my massage I kept thinking, «Okay when is she going to stop rubbing and actually use some kneading techniques? My husband gives better massage than this!» I also kept thinking if she had any idea of what she was doing. I was SO disappointed. During the massage, Teresa focused on my head. I’m not a vocal person but I finally had the courage to ask her to focus on the back. Too late. My appointment was over. I didn’t check the time of course until I was dressed. It was 5:30pm but my appointment didn’t start till well after 4:50pm. She owed me 20 minutes of massage time. 6) After I was dressed I came out and tried to tell her the time was off. She said no, that we had started on time. I mentioned the appointment she had earlier and that it was running late. «Well… it’s 5:30». That was her answer. She had another customer waiting. I hope she gave him his allotted time. This was also strange, as she said I was her last appointment of the day. She doesn’t seem too organized with her appointment times… I have never left a massage feeling so stressed! It ruined my mood for the rest of the evening. When I got home I promptly when on Living Social to ask for a refund(for my massage and the voucher for my husband we do not want to use). Placing phone calls during and between massage appointments should not count towards a customer’s time. I’m the kind of person that’s not confrontational, so of course I gave her a tip. Unfortunately, I didn’t have change, so she got more than deserved. I wish this experience were better, as she seems like a sweet woman running her own business. However, she lacks professional business skills. I wish Teresa and her business all the best.

Teresa will not disappoint you! She is skilled in various types of massage and understands how pain moves through the body, thus treating the injured area even if it’s no where near that spot. She also really cares about her clients and will see you when you really need her and listen to you if you need an ear. I have gone to her so many times with severe back pain and left feeling marvelous and ultra relaxed. Do yourself a favor a always get a 2 hour massage. You will not want to leave before then!

quick history: i have been going to teresa since 2007 after my roommate recommended her. time and time again, teresa has cured my mind, body and soul of all the toxins and daily stress i put my body thru. most recent massage: i just ran the shamrock half marathon and my legs needed some TLC after 12 weeks of training and a grueling pace for the race. I saw her last night and had the best massage she has ever given me. my legs feel amazing right now. the best part about teresa is that you get more than just a massage. teresa practically knows my whole life story because she actually cares about how you are doing. its not just get in and out. she spends time finding out how are you doing in the present and what is actually on your mind in terms of work, family, stress, life, exercise, training, health and diet. once she has a good idea of where you’re at she can quickly diagnose what you need. i can’t even begin to tell you how many times i was just about to tell her where i needed some work and before i could tell her she was already working it out. she literally finds all the problems in your body and gets them out. its actually kind of crazy how she knows whats going on, then again she is looking and searching out these kinks in the chain. a little bonus when it comes to teresa is that she is an excellent student. since 2007 i have seen her hang up certificate after certificate on her walls because she is constantly adding to the resume. she loves learning new techniques and is constantly searching for ways to customize a massage to your specific needs. and since she takes the time to get to know you, she remembers each persons specific regimen. sure, the place isn’t all fancy like massage envy, but for the price you have to remember that you are also getting a free shrink session to help get your mind in the right place. be ready to really engage into the experience and you will see how good it can get.

Great massage. Teresa is very sweet and is knowledgable in different massage techniques. She’s really helped me out when I’ve had those sitting-in-front-of-a-computer knots in my shoulders and neck.

This small space is lacking in ambience, but it’s reasonably priced and I was seen 30 minutes after I called. For $ 60 I received an hour and ten minutes including a foot bath and full body massage with focus on my problem areas. If you are looking for a soothing spa experience or pristine facilities go to Magic Massage or Massage Envy, respectively; if you are having real pain I recommend Teresa.

I was searching for a place to get a really good massage and most of my searches came up with large chain massage places. After reading reviews on them I was told that they always try and up sale you on things you don’t need. That did not sound appealing to me at all, luckily I found out about Teresa at 23rd and J Massage. Teresa is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about what she does. My session started off with me filling out a health questionnaire which she then reviewed with me. She gave me some suggestions on what else I should do besides massage to take care of some issues. She then proceeded to give me a foot bath/massage which was out of this world. In her sessions she combines many different styles of massage into one completely amazing experience. My session started off with Thai massage in which she completely stretched me out. It was a little uncomfortable at first but after a few minutes I got used to the techniques and it began to release tension in my muscles almost immediately. Next, she moved on to Ashiatsu massage which is where she employes the oriental bars and uses her feet to get down deep into the muscle tissue. And finally she uses hot stones at the end to soothe and relax you. Overall, it was an amazing experience and the price for a 2 hour massage is excellent compared to any chain store you will go to. I can’t recommend Teresa and 23rd and J Massage enough.

I have long searched for somewhere to get some form of help for my bad back. I was involved in a near death accident about 1 year ago and nothing including strong meds helps. Teresa hands are tough and gentle all at once and I get everything I need from a massage once or twice a month. She has the lowest prices in town especially for the quality my husband calls it 5 star dining for the micky d’s price. I recommended it to anyone who has terrible back pain or just needs some relaxing time off here and there.
