After seeing trainer Allyson Seconds posting on FB about her Iron Grrls clinic about strength & weightlifting, I was curious. Attending the class was one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself. Allyson is so knowledgeable and supportive as a trainer. Chip the owner & founder has a unique philosophy about working out. It’s like no other. They promote learning about strength training but advocate proper technique over how many reps you can do improperly. They advocate moving your body in fun ways that adults have long forgotten to do because we’re not supposed to act like kids anymore. They are smart and supportive in their training. And moreover the people who attend are just as awesome & supportive as the trainers. Squats has quickly become one of my favorite strength training exercises! Before coming here, I was so out of shape, getting up off the ground was a challenge at times. Now, not only can I pick my 60 lb dog off the ground from a dead squat but I can squat a barbell with at least 125 lbs & more! I’m working on getting stronger in all ways. If you live in Sacramento, are wanting to change your ways, aren’t into fad gyms, I highly recommend this place!

This place is the best, and going here on a regular basis has benefited my whole life, not just my physical being.

I highly recommend this gym to all my California friends. And if there weren’t so many stupid miles between TX and CA, I’d be a regular. Chip Conrad, an owner and the founder, has done several workshops in Austin and I make a point to be there. As a Crossfit, powerlifting, weightlifting and yoga junkie I am amazed at the new stuff I learn from Chip. Check out their website! Bodytribe is always putting on so many fun weekend workshops! Can’t think of a better way to spend a couple of hours. Playing. Learning. Laughing.
