Amazingly great coffee. Calm cool atmosphere. Great after dark, and hookah is a plus. Good prices, and free WiFi. Friendly staff and patrons. Highly recommended.

A Quick Tasty & Heart-Warming Stop After the Doctor… SITREP …because I’m certainly not going to stop in here BEFORE I visit the doctor. Last thing I need to do is pump my body full of caffeine, get my heart racing, and then have the nurse say, «Okay, Mr. S., time to take your blood pressure!» No no. This is the place I go AFTER I’ve visited my doctor at Kaiser, gotten all my blood work and tests squared away, gotten poked, prodded,(penetrated?) and pummeled by a legion of medical staff. This is my reward for having indured those… indignities. SETUP And it’s close by the medical center too. But that’s why my visits to this café are infrequent at best — usually a stop on the way home after the doctor visit. But I make it nonetheless, because up til now I’ve been drinking nothing but water for a few days, have been cutting down on the fatty foods(the cheese *sigh*), no sodas, no alcohol, no coffee, etc. *SILENTSCREAM*. THEMENU Café La Boca in my first stop back into the world of tastes & decadence. If it’s cold out, I’ll definitely get a White Mocha Frappé for some much needed choco-indulgence. If it’s hot outside, I’ll pop for their Fourberry Smoothie! So good! Soooo tasty(and so full of sugar which is why I daren’t drink this before going in for glucose testing — definitely would skew those test results). THELOWDOWN Café La Boca is my reward for a doctor visit well done.

Okay okay I was probably a bit harsh when I reviewed this place the first time. I came back to grab some tea with a coworker and I really enjoy the music they play here(electro, house, trance) except when they play it too loud. It’s always crackin here on the oddest days. People are inside doing homework or people are outside socializing and smoking some hookah. I like that it’s closed later than Peet’s and Starbucks so I can come here whenever I feel like it.

It’s fine, but it won’t blow you away. Nice in the evenings and a good location. Nice service and a clean facility overall. The coffee — it works, but it’s nothing special. This a business that seeks to make easy money without really offering anything too special. It will work and likely survive — perhaps a great secrete place to many, but never a special one to most.

I’m a huge fan of this place! They are kind enough to allow my local motorcycle club to meet here every Wednesday night. This meet always draws at least 15 – 20 motorcycles, with that number being doubled when the weather is nice. Not only are they gracious hosts, but they block off the best 6 parking spots directly in front of their doors for us. Huge thumbs up for that! The gyro sandwich is simple and tasty. It’s not on the level of Petra’s, but it’s solid and I wouldn’t hesitate to send someone there who was looking for a good gyro. Their baristas also make some nice coffee drinks to order. They are also nice enough to bring the coffee to you outside so you don’t have to just hang around the counter waiting for them. Café La Boca won’t win any awards for their food, but I have a hard time seeing them getting any bad press for it either. The prices are fair. And best of all, the service is excellent! That means a LOT in this day and age. The economy is down as is the general person’s disposable income. So if you’re going to spend that hard earned money why not spend it at a place that makes you feel like they are genuinely glad to have you there?

1 for coffee, 5 for hours. If your from Sacramento, you know how rare a late night coffee shop is outside of midtown. It’s a decent place to meet up except for the high school kids trying to play off their age and hanging out with hookahs. The food isn’t great but that’s really not why you come here. Good service and friendly staff. Free wifi and accessible power sources(a lot of places give you wifi but no power, Peets next door gives you only 30 mins of internet). You see a lot of ppl like me, late night studying, who come here alone or before going out as a meeting spot.

I often stop here for coffee on my way to work, and it is some tasty tasty coffee. The lady who works there in the morning is very nice and personable. I’m not sure why it’s so empty all the time! She says that business is usually better for lunch and sometimes dinner, but if you’re on the fence about this place after just reading the reviews, I suggest you try it — I would hate for a small place with good service and tasty coffee to fail because people were afraid to try something new.

High points: — HUGE Flatscreen TV playing soccer matches in High Definition! — Fresh squeezed Orange Juice is delicious — Love the low key, relaxing atmosphere — Food options, in my case the Greek Pita, was impressive for such a small café Low points: — Latte was unimpressive(the coffee used was bland in taste, and it was super weak like not enough coffee was used for the shot)

Ok, so this place looks super cute from the outside and I thought it would be better than Starbucks. It might have been better than Starbucks if the pastry I bought hadn’t been moldy. Yeah, kind of a buzzkill. I will say though, they did refund the money. But first they offered a «fresh» one(they have the fresh ones in the back and apparently want to get rid of the old ones first?). Sorry, but at that point I kind of lost my appetite. The place seems like it has potential, the menu looked decent. But after that, I just can’t see ever going back.

Some of the best laid plans never come to fruition. This was my night. So My plan to hang out with a friend was shot up just like F-15’s shooting down the Iraqi Air Force in the gulf war. So as Jimmy Buffett said it’s 5 O’clock somewhere… If this saying was in relation to motorcycles… there is always a bike night somewhere. The bike night was happening tonight at this spot. So I hopped on the trusty steed and rolled out. The parking area here is small, dare I say, lilliputian for cars, perfect for bikes. I walked inside the place and it was nice and very clean. Also free WIFI for the laptop carrying members who never leave home without it. Something that I didn’t like were the prices of the drinks. Bordering on filthy, almost obscene. $ 1.90 for a 12 oz soda come on! I paid $ 2.74 for a 20 oz of Gatorade. That is just filthy when I go to a chevron gas station and get two 32 oz gatorades for $ 2.50.(My wallet slipped me a note that said: Yes Dummy! This is a Stickup!) This place reminded me of that attractive babe that asked what I drove before she asked anything else. Now I’m not saying this place is a gold digger… but you can’t be a broke figure messing with this place. Sure I can pay for it… but Hey just because you can drink Drano doesn’t mean you should. Now overall the place and the service was excellent and the free WIFI was cool. Just the drink prices need tweaking.

I love this little café. I have been here many times and have never had a bad experience. $ 7.50 for a fresh, warm panini(the Cuban one is delicious) and a salad is hard to beat. The vanilla chai is also pretty good but a little too sweet for me. The service is always great and after stopping by only a few times, they recognize me and know what I like. I’m also a fan of the hookah here. It’s cheap — only $ 10, compared to Cobblestone, which charges per person. It lasts for a long time and they are always more than willing to replace the coals. The staff is really friendly and I always feel welcomed here. Definitely give it a try :)

Nice inside. good iced coffee. On the west side is one of the VERY few nice patio areas in the strip mall wasteland of our little piece of suburbia. I come here instead of going to Panera because i’d rather support a small biz while i drink coffee. They have a stupid rule about buying something every hour if youre hanging out. Hope they don’t enforce it. They have alcohol and food too! They’re italian so i predict some good World Cup viewing on the flat screen.

I ordered a lemonade and utilized their wifi. You have to ask for the password for their network, which is probably to prevent people from just coming in and sniping their bandwidth. I feel like I should also mention that they have some very interesting sandwiches on their menu including lots of vegetarian choices.

This place is hit or miss. I have had good strong coffee here and coffee that was a bit sour. I had never eaten the food here as it does not look tasty to me, a little too prepackage for a fresh café. After reading other Unilocal reviews I think I will try the dessert or hot cocoa but the tea is standard fare being a bit over priced. Also, I have come either in the morning or afternoon and there is always and I mean always, older men watching soccer. I have never been able to connect to the Internet via the wi-fi and it is just an odd vibe overall. I would rather go to Pete’s across the way.

What? I really haven’t reviewed this place before? I study here. a lot. I also used to frequent this establishment once a month for a ladies brunch with girls from my sorority. I’m not really into coffee that much but from 6am to 9am you can buy a mocha for $ 1.99 or a latte for $ 1.75. What I always order here is the freshly squeezed juice. I don’t like pulp and the employees here always strain it for me with no complaint. The crowd here is diverse too, you have your usual old men playing dominoes outside and ladies with the small dogs in their purses. Then there’s me quietly studying in the corner :) See you soon Café La Boca!

I’ve seen this place while driving to Ettores down the street and decided to give it a shot this morning. Had it not been for the fact that my nonfat white mocha tasted watery and not at all like a white mocha, I may have given this place 4 stars. The two staff members in there were friendly and made conversation. I liked the look of the place: there was an array of breakfast pastries, a case full of cakes and desserts and a menu with lunch items such as paninis and salads. It is also a Hookah bar and they had a selection of wine and beer. It seems like they’ve got just about everything to please you no matter what time of day it is. I must say I liked the way the place was decorated and the art on the wall was cool.

You’ve passed by Café Boca numerous times but never noticed. It sits in the shadows across the street from Jack’s Urban Eats and Boudin on Fair Oaks. If you are looking for a decent lunch meal and a chill atmosphere with a flat panel broadcasting futbol, you’ve found it. W-ifi included. Yeah’s — twice they individually wrapped my sandwich halves to reduce mess! soccer, free wi-fi, martinelli’s apple juice, fast lunch to go Nay’s — sandwhiches should be about a buck 50 cheaper but they do come with a salad

Bonus star only because it is one of the few coffee shops in the area that stays open past 9pm since Java City is gone now!!! For the ease in having a spot that not only serves coffee but wine and food too and a spot that is open until midnight, three stars. Now…They call this place Café La Boca, which would make you think that everything here would be great for your mouth(for you non-spanish knowers out there, la boca is the mouth ha ha) and their house wine here is a little under $ 6 a glass(but my glass was mighty mighty full!!!) and it was okay wine, not the best, not the worst, but drinkable. My friend emmy said that the hot chocolate here is pretty amazing, so I will be sure to try that out next time. This place is pretty small though, with not too many table, but they do have tables outside for hookah if that floats your boat. There is a flat screen tv here which had soccer in spanish on it, but they don’t pay for HD here which seems silly to have such big tv mounted on the wall and not have HD… but oh well. The economy sucks and I bet that is to blame for not having HD, right? ha ha All in all a small local spot to hang out, not with a big group but with a friend or two, but if you are already out of high school, let alone a college graduate, be prepared to feel slightly older and slightly more mature than most of the customers here. Emmy and I sure did, but hey that makes it perfect for people watching!!!
