Just found saw that Capital Dime is closed for good! I thought the food, service and drinks were amazing! They had such a unique menu that made your taste buds water. My boyfriend and i went here for date night and had the maple bacon app. which was huge pieces of meat! All their food was local and fresh at reasonably prices. Hopefully the next place that comes here will have awesome food and drinks!

I went here with a small group of friends this past weekend. We all loved the indoor/outdoor seating. I really liked that their street facing walls are all windows that open to the street. In some spots, you can actually eat facing the street, great if you’re a people watcher. LOL. In terms of our drinks and food, we kept it light. All the cocktails were fantastic, I had the White Linen drink which definitely exceeded my expectations. I’m always wary of cocktails and often just opt for wine or beer, because I find the cocktails done too strongly and I can taste the liquor, which I don’t like. My friends had a Moscow Mule and Whisky Daisy, Ginger Joy and both were also well done. Not too sweet or strong tasting at all. We had the tacos and perogis. Both were delish and left me wanting more. I’m definitive coming back to this spot. Service was also pretty good. Still south more to try.

We had a buffet style meal with our party and it was excellent food. Great service. It was like 104 degrees Fahrenheit outside and they kept the ice cold waters filled. Can’t wait to try their regular meal service. Place was A+++

Capital Dime is a nice place to stop and have a good quality drink. I love the layout of the bar and they have TVs to watch the games on. Bartender was great, attentive, and friendly. Got Moscow Mules and nothing beats having an ice cold mule in a copper cup on a hot Sacramento day. The menu is great and has so much potential but the food quality is so-so. Got the Mac and cheese with bacon, thank god for the bacon because bacon makes everything better. Got deviled eggs which were ehh and the duck tacos which was probably the best food item we tasted.

I am really loving these Tofu Tacos! I think it’s the tortillas, or the corn salsa, or the awesome spicy aioli. Darn you, Cap Dime. Been back a few more times. Service has definitely improved. I see Chris Jaroz in there almost every single time typing away on his computer or on phone calls, he’s one of the owners. Nice to see how passionate he is about his restaurants! I still think this place is borderline three stars. The food quality really goes up and down depending on when you go. For example, our food last Saturday was amazing. It showed up hot and fresh. During lunch service recently the tofu and tortillas on my tacos were cold, like they’d been sitting around. Still really tasty, since the slaw is fresh, but cold. I love that texture and taste from a freshly grilled tortilla! Also, they need to take two seats off the bar. My husband and I are bar sitting people, we like to hang out next to each other, hang out with the bar staff, casually enjoy a meal and we always get better service at the bar. However, during busy times, the chairs are lined up so closely together that you feel like you’re on an airplane. No bueno. Rumor on the street is Broderick’s Roadhouse is moving into the old Wahoo’s space across the street and Cap Dime(with Trick Pony) is also getting a new chef, facelift and rebrand. That’ll be good because it’s ready for a bit of a pep rally, Cap Dime is starting to fall asleep in class!

New Menu Of Delicious Burgers & Sliders &NOMS SITREP I always love coming to the Capital Dime(The Dime) because there is always something delicious and new to try! THESETUP From beverages and food, The Dime always has a variety of options to please just about every palette and preference. Several of my vegetarian friends have raved about how The Dime goes out of it’s way to encompass their dietary preferences and prepare meals to their order. MYRECENTFAVES But for me, my two(2) most recent choices I’ve just loved include: * The Whiskey Burger: and, * The Crispy Bacon Mac N’ Cheese: I can not go wrong with these treats. THELOWDOWN Thank you Capital Dime for proving over & over what a culinary divinity you are in the Sacramento food sky!

The first time I had ever visited the Capital Dime was just a few years ago during a Unilocal event in which we were given the special opportunity to sample dishes and drinks that were to be contenders for the creation of the Dime’s menu. At that time, it was still under construction, still formulating the food and drink menus, training new staff, and getting an idea of prospective clientele who would patronize another restaurant addition to a very popular downtown hot spot. I also wondered why it was named Capital Dime? Besides the obvious«Capital» portion of the name(Sacramento is the capital city of CA), what does the«Dime» title mean? So I asked Joe K. encyclopedia who told me that the restaurant’s intention was to establish itself as an upscale dining experience while keeping its menu at around $ 10.00 per dish. A great idea that I hoped would fall into fruition! Since then, according to other Unilocal reviews, this restaurant still continually evolves with good, bad, and mediocre experiences. Fortunately for me personally, eating and drinking here has been all good. Food has remained consistently delicious, and the service spot on. My favorite times to dine are during happy hours where enjoying a specialty cocktail and appetizer is the highlight of my day! While $ 10.00 dishes are still offered, the dinner menu has raised its prices on many of its selections. As we are forced to endure a rising economy, so do the prices of food. But take it from me, prepare your self in advance and bring more dimes, the food will be worth it!

Capital Dime!!! I love you, and I want my Husband to love you, but unfortunately I think that may never happen. He only gives so many chances. First of all, this is my third review. First time, ok. Second time, amazing. Third time, didn’t get much of a chance to be what I know you can be. Why? My Husband and I came in for small bites and drinks around 4:00 on a Sunday. When we had come last time you were out of his Monkey Knife Fight beer so I was SO happy he wanted to come back. Well, what happened this time? You were out of Monkey Knife Fight and whatever Ruthstaller was on tap. On a Sunday afternoon/evening. He didn’t see anything else he wanted(there were only a few other IPA’s) so we ended up leaving after I finished my cocktail. And I really wanted to taste your wonderful food again. Because I love you. But get the beer thing together. Or I’m only going to be able to come here if I sneak out of the house. Or when my Husbands not looking. Or if I drug him. Please.

With all the recent changes Capital Dime has gone through, it’s great to see they haven’t slacked on consistently providing tasty, quality food. Hit this place up recently during the ‘Off the Chain’ Gold Unilocal Elite Event. We were given items off the Happy Hour menu, which included macaroni and cheese, bacon lollipops, chicken wings, fries and charcuterie. The fried bacon macaroni and cheese was AMAZING. Of course, bacon makes everything taste better. Wings are massive, and the wings alone tell you that these guys are the same people behind the wings at Brodericks. I’ll need to come back again, because the revamped menu looks promising. Bison sloppy joe and short rib gnocchi? Sign me up!
