I had a Cali burrito with sour cream. It. Was. Bomb! Right across the street from Caesar Chavez park, this place is going to go hard in the summer! My burrito was full of meat. Tons of of carne asada — clutch! Oh yeah, the free chips too? Definitely going to be coming back!

glad they’re here! great texture, good portions, self serve salsa n chip bar, clean n cozy. i ordered super nachos with carne asada and an horchata to drink. rice and beans sre NOT included as they are at the other locations, …bummer. it can be added for an additional $ 3. horchata had a good dose of cinnamon. its a taqueria… not a fancy schmancy place. i hit up their other spots around town and adalbertos too. this location on j street costs just a teeny bit more. rent and overhead must be more on this side of town. i will be back again.

The food was not bad at all. Free range of chips and salsa while you wait for your food. Although I would advice you to make sure you double check your order once they call your ticket. They have a tendency to mix up the orders as they come out. It could be due to the lunch hour rush.

I ordered a order Of Carna asada fries to go and they were gross. The meat had no flavor and seasonings and it was bland and the fried had just melted cheese and meat on top, there was no tomatoes, onions and green onions like that at cilantros. I called and they gave me My money back. Not going back no more. Will be heading back to cilantros Cuz they have the best carna asada fries in town

Really enjoyed my time here at Carolina’s as I enjoy their other chains as well… Very clean location, apparently a bit new, and décor wasn’t too over the top. Got to get an early lunch and decided to order their California burritos. It usually is packed with Steak, cheese, pico, and fries but I subbed the pico with jalepeno. Next time may ask for sour cream and hot sauce in there just for kicks. Definitely will come by again and hopefully give an updated review.

I ordered the mexi bowl today. The restaurant offers free chips and salsa. I wish they had spicy salsa. Also the mexi bowl lacked salt and pepper. Besides that they give lots of food. The restaurant was packed.

I was so excited about another Mexican restaurant downtown but this place is disappointing. I have been here twice, the first time I ordered a carne asada super burrito. The size was good but it was mostly filled with beans, rice and sour cream. There was very little carne asada and what was in there was flavorless and very fatty which made it difficult to eat. A few days later I went again with some coworkers who insisted on trying it. I had the chorizo breakfast burrito. It was ok but lacked flavor. Also it was really weird that they use french friends instead of actual potatoes. The menu also says«potatoes» with no mention of french fries. Its a bit odd. Its great that they have a salsa bar I guess. However the first time I went the trays for the spicy carrots and jalapenos were both empty but full the second time(they were good!) and there are three choices for salsas(green, red and pico). The red and green are very runny and not at all appealing. The red salsa was also a very unnatural bright red. I don’t plan on giving this place a 3rd try. I will go to to the burrito cart on 7th& I or the other delicious Mexican restaurant on K street.

Somewhere between THREESTAR and FOURSTAR! I will never writing ONESTAR or TWOSTAR, that too mean spirited and not fair to the restaurant, pet store, grocery store, hotel, church, so forth! On the menu what I wanted say $ 6.55 before the tax! Name of the lady is Elgin short yellow hair, eye glasses! She ask if I wanted rice and beans with it! I say yes, she now says«That is ten dollar and ten cents,» yes I questioned! She say the rice and beans extra! I say, «Okay, skip the rice and beans,»(Where is nearest A T M)? Show her the ten dollar! She say for only ten cent more, she takes dime out the cash register! Huge portion! What, no child menu, I not see any listed! Therefore be warned, was a board menu not paper menu, it did not say would be extra for Rice and Beans! Plus isle is really small, person in his wheel chair, no other can get through to get their salsas or the drinks! I not faulting him, we all been some disability one time or another, I used be in a chair, so can no fault him! They need expand the isle! Ah yes, seven minute walk back to Sacra hotel you knowing where, you knowing when, you knowing who! Back at hotel tell them what happened! They always know I be asking if, «Will ten dollar, will eleven dollar be enough for this for that?» Obviously with rice and beans would not have been! Be warned then, do not ask for the rice and the beans!

Salas was watery. Chips wasn’t good at all. The meat have a strange taste. And the street taco corn tortillas taste old and nasty. Flour tortillas has a funny rubber chewy taste.

Was on my way to grab some Dads when I saw this place. I said what the heck! Lets get a burrito. Walking into the place, it looked very industrial, clean but bland. Something felt off with the atmosphere. Anyway, On to the burrito. It came in a wax paper like sheet and the warmth was inconsistent. Cold on one side warm on the other. Though the Carnitas were warm they tasted off. Its hard to explain. The closest thing I can describe it as is that they tasted how a butcher chop smells. I tried soaking them in salsa but given how watered down the salsa was it didn’t make much of a difference. In hindsight I dont regret trying something new but next time I want a good burrito Ill go to Alejandros. Although Alejandros isnt as modern to the eye, the food is 200x better.

I ordered 3 mini tacos(carne asada) and an order of refried beans. They were amazing and the asada was well seasoned. I’m so happy to see this location in downtown but my wallet isnt very happy. The only reason the review didnt get a 5th star was because I felt like their salsa was a little watery. The site just opened so im assuming this will get better as the location is open longer.
