Forget every other torta you’ve ever had. The sandwiches here will make your eyes roll back. My friend and I split two different sandwiches. He ordered the Cubano while I ordered something like the Nezayork? Both of them were amazing. We had these on Tuesday and here it is Thursday and we’re both still talking about them. I ordered my sandwich with jalapenos so I got the spiciness, sweet from the pineapple, salty from the meat and cheese, and richness from the egg. Truly a sandwich that is last meal worthy. Give me a month to let my arteries recover and I’ll be back.

I wish I could tell you what torta I had here, thing is, they gave me the wrong order. I ain’t even mad though. The torta was real damn good! It had steak and ham and sausage and cheese and avovado and I don’t even remember what else *burps*. The bolillo was very soft and not thick and bready(Actually think it was telera). My company also got the wrong torta but ahe loved it as well. Lol. Going to have to go back another day and figure out what we had(excuse).

The tortas here are really big. I live close by and never came until about a month now I come to this spot a lot more. The carne asada torta is amazing along with the torta tejana and their red salsa is super spicy but delicious. They have now messed my order three times. If it weren’t for that I would give them 5 star review. Okay service great food!

This place was the best place to eat at before they got new employees. I’ve been going to this restaurant for many years and lately they haven’t been picking up the phone when I try and order ahead of time. When I get there the cashier is always way too friendly with the cook and doesn’t take her job serious, she claims to be the owners niece but gives him a bad reputation by her attitude and work ethic. She was extremely rude to my mother and that’s unprofessional for her to argue with a customer. I give this place a bad review for customer service

Pambazo is my usual order… I just can’t resist! Papas, adobada, queso fresco… rico! The joint is the same. .loud music, TV blaring news, game show or sports, a traditional vibe for a Mexican café. Casual dining and filling entrees. Still a fan!

The food is awesome it never fails but the customer service is horrible. I placed an order and waited more than 30 minutes while everyone else was bieng served. I asked about my order and it seemed as if they had no clue as to what I was talking about so she said a few more minutes 15 minutes later still no food!!! I could have gone somewhere else but my pregnant wife would kill me if I got home without that meal

Great food. Tortas are huge. The Tulaqueña was delicious and the salsa bar is great too. The salsas are good.

We got lost on the way because, being a non-Spanish speaker, the street sign, door sign, and restaurant sign said«Tortas Chalangas» in bold — then«Cd. Neza» in smaller print. Besides that, the food was good. We ordered a Torta Cubana, a Shredded Pork Quesadilla, a Chicharrone Taco, and a side order of Spanish rice. The Torta was good, albeit greasy. It was brimming with different seasoned meats and veggies. The shredded pork in the quesadilla was okay — a bit dry, in my opinion. The rice, a bit salty for my taste but still amazing. And the taco, I didn’t eat so I can’t vouch for it but I’m sure it was good(this order I had to remind the waitress about after we were done eating — would’ve had it taken off the tab but it was already paid for). In terms of the ambience, the dining area was organize, natural lighting was able to filter through, the tables were clean… my qualms: the music was VERY loud and the napkin dispenser and salt shaker could use some cleaning. I think despite these minor issues, I will be returning for a second try. There were a few things on the menu that sounds very appetizing!

Giant flippin tortas! Yummy jamaica. I got the Nezayork torta and it was pretty good. I’m not a fan of American cheese and it probably would have been tastier if it had sour cream instead of mayo. I like that they put the carrots from the jalapeños in it. The pastor was on point though. Good little hole on the wall. I recommend. Can’t wait to try more on their menu.

I ABSOLUTELYINLOVEWITHTHISPLACE!!! I am from El DF so when I found this place on Unilocal I just had to try it. It had been so many years since I tasted some«chilango» food and well I am not disappointed. I ordered a pambazo which had all authentic flavor. My boyfriend ordered alambre which was really good as well. I ended up ordering extra food to take back home since I don’t live in Sacramento. They have quesadillas estilo DF(DF style) which is cheese and the meat you choose stuff in maza and deep fried. They also have Tinga which is hard to come across. This is definitely going to my go to spot whenever I’m in town. The only downside is they don’t serve beer and the place gets pretty packed. The whole time I was sitting eating my lunch there was a non-stop line all the way to the door to place your order. but it’s totally worth the wait!

I had to change my review to 4 stars because the last few times I went in the food was pretty good but not great like before. The sandwiches are still good but the proportions of things in the sandwich seemed off.

First time at this place. A co worker told me it was a must try place. located on franklin in a small strip mall. I don’t know if I would call it a strip mall but it has a few store. To me its a whole in the wall kind of place. Walk in with a few tables. it was pretty empty. I wasn’t tryin to be rude but I had ask these two ladies what they was eating. Snice it was my first time there I wanted to give it a try too. IT was quessdias. She was nice enough to offer me some lol but I had to reject her. THe two guys that heard me say IT Was My First Time there. They said I step into the rite place. I was really there for their Mexican Sandwhiches OR call TORTAS. OMG how did I over look this place r haven’t even heard of them. I order 3 different ones. #1.#2 and I think it was #7. My god these sandwiches are HUGE. Felt like they put two footlong sub side by side. bread was toasted nicely. im a big girl but truth me this TORTAS is made for two. The #1 was the best one for me. The pineapply give it a nice sweet taste to it. #2 this one was last on my list I didn’t like the HOTDOG that was slice and p

OMG!!! Let me just say I took a recent trip to Los Angeles and went to a a very popular restaurant for Pambazos and Ciudad Nezahualcóyotl still has THEBESTPAMBAZOSEVER!!! They are perfect! I am so happy to say that there is no comparison, yet(still haven’t tried them in Mexico city) The service here is really good and eating inside is real peaceful. Thanks Ciudad Nezahualcóyotl, I love you guys, keep the good food and service coming!

The location matters not when great food is at hand! I had the Nezayork Torta and my wife had a Carnitas Quesadilla. Both items were exceptional and very generous of portion. I can’t wait to try something new” Second time around — less spectacular. Downgraded from 5 to 3. Consistency is an issue.

Really good little place in South Sacramento to stop for a quick Mexico City style lunch. The menu is short, but what they offer isn’t just your average burrito-joint fare — sopes, huaraches, and delicious(and large) tortas. As a vegetarian, it is very uncommon for me to find a torta I can eat, but at Ciudad Nezahualcoyotl they have one called the Zuiza(yes, they like their Zs) that is excellent. I guess I can’t really say if the beans on the torta are lard-free or whatever but, well, life is too short to sweat that. If it was there, I didn’t notice, especially after adding plenty of their 3 excellent salsas to each bite. If I could add one thing, it would be some chips to the salsa bar. I know that is not in keeping with the very D.F. style of the food, but I just want more carrier to deliver those salsas to my mouth. It really isn’t that hard to find the place, even if it is kind of small. Just look for the huge words«Tortas Chilangas» beckoning you. «Hole in the wall,» sure, but step in and you’ll find the place spotless, and the service friendly and efficient.

How do you pronounce this place? Mistakenly overlooked, that’s how you pronounce it! Most people don’t see a small, dilapidated strip mall on Franklin and 47th and decide to pull in and try something new and different. But for those of us who do, these are the Holy Grail’s that keep us searching off the beaten path. Once you overcome the first impression fears you surprisingly find yourself standing inside a very clean dining area with a handful of tables and a large chalkboard menu hanging above the ordering counter. The menu is mostly the different varieties of tortas they offer although there are a few of the more standard plates as well. Aztec murals cover a few of the walls and even though a little on the cheesy side, they’re emblems that add to the distinct character of this place. Being a newbie, I asked for their most popular torta and without hesitation I was recommended the Nezayork and I now see why it’s the most popular. It’s a mere $ 9.00 and so large that it can easily be ordered as a lunch for two. It was brought to my table bursting from the seams with nicely seasoned pork leg, pineapple, shaved ham, jalapeños, onions, carrots and cheese. It’s best described as a flavor volcano of comfort food that knowingly erupts in your mouth and is highly recommended if you brought your appetite. Drinks are limited but none the less they offer Mexican soda’s(Coke & Pepsi), a few different flavors of Jarritos as well as horchata. This place could have success written on it if the word gets out but until then I’ll enjoy a quiet lunch with no lines and minimal wait times. Pro’s: Hidden, different, comfort food on a bun, reasonable prices, huge portions Con’s: bad location, service could be a little more personable and inviting Overall: It’s something different and off-the-beaten-path with huge portions for a good price. 3.5 Stars — not quite at 4 but definitely more than 3

Here’s the reason there are only 5 reviews, the place is very hard to find and the area is not great. The neighborhood is a real drawback to this place and it may keep me from coming back. I was pan handled going in and coming out which never makes me want to go back to a restaurant. It is not the fault of the establishment at all but it does affect the experience. That said the food is really tasty. I tried the super burrito and the Torta Cubana and both were very tasty. My torta was HUGE and full of flavor. For about $ 10 total I had a meal that satisfied even my fat boy appetite. The food is very authentic and not refined but it’s so tasty. It’s the kind of food you know someone is making because they really love eating it and that love shows in the food. There is nothing pretentious or assuming here. The food is honest, and the flavors are great even with modest ingredients. I will say if you’re not into mexican beverages the drinks here are pretty meh, I’m not a fan of buying a single can of diet coke and they don’t have anything like Iced Tea in a larger glass. They do have some Agua Fresca and Horchata which looked super authentic but they aren’t my bag so I didn’t have any myself. They got 4 stars because they have 3 star ingredients a 2 star location but a 5 star flavor and a 5 star love for what they are doing.
