Denny’s

I actually like taking my grandkids to Denny’s but I won’t be going back to this one! I had to return my first cup of coffee because it wasn’t hot, the toast was stale, the bacon was cool, greasy and not cooked enough. My whole experience here today was zero! Maybe just a bad moment for them but I will never go back to this one.

I originally gave this place a two star review for the lack of staff both in the kitchen and on the floor. Since then I have seen a dramatic change and for that reason decided to update my review. I came in to have lunch with my fiancé and give this place one last shop. we were completely surprised by the number of people working.
Our server was Matt! He was more than amazing. He was very attentive to every customer he was serving. He is fast and efficient. When he wasn’t waiting on the tables he kept himself busy by wiping down tables and stocking the to go boxes and organizing the back counter.

The service tonight was terrible. There was 7 of us, when the 1^st 4 of us walked in and told the waitress we were a party of 7, she rolled her eyes, sighed and said «wait a minute «. When she came back, she took us to a table in the back without enough chairs or settings. Someone else took our drink order, another person took our food order. One of our party had some problems with her order when it was brought out and had to send it back. After the correct order was brought, no one ever returned to the table. Our drinks were never refilled and we had to ask someone to bring us the check. The restaurant was not busy at all. Very very bad service.

My girlfriend and I went here on a weekend and there’s this wonderful waitress named Jelly Bean. She was a very nice employee, making sure we left happy, glad we sat in her section. I will say though, I went back for a treat one week later and it seems everyone was nice and had smiles on their faces. Got served in a timely fashion. I would say give this place a try!

The food is good. The chefs are good and quick. The wait is what takes forever. The waitress kept on stating that she would be right over to take our order but it took her 15 minutes to finally come and do so. There was another waitress who was stationed by the back wall putting together the utensils meanwhile our waitress was running around taking care of the other tables.

It’s just breakfast, It isn’t one of those impressive breakfasts that you can really gloat about. It serves it’s purpose.

Worst customer service… very disappointed i had a bad experience here about 2 years ago i decided to give them a second chance i should have known my toast and my french toast was burnt very sad morning for a breakfast lover

Well its christmas and i wanted some breakfast, Denny’s was one of the few places open today so had to settle. I typically have to settle for Denny’s as it is never my first choice anyways. I come in and they are quite busy, oh well. I get it. I am told i have a 15 minute wait. 15 goes by and they call me up to be seated and once i get up there i get a «oh sorry, someone is in front of you.»
Come on, isn’t that something you double check before you call someone up? Oh well. Can’t expect a whole lot.

Our server was very nice and gave us great customer service. The only reason I didn’t leave 5 stars was because they were out of so many things. We had to change our order several times because they didn’t have some of the items.

Me and my daughter had such a good time eating here. I ordered a grand slam and my daughter ordered the snowman pancakes. It was really cute and the service was really great. Ill always stop by this particular dennys when I’m in town! One small piece of advice is to make sure the bathrooms are clean. My daughter and I were a little nervous to use it because it looked like it hadnt been checked in a while

Mom picked Denny’s for her birthday breakfast… not my first choice but it’s her day…
Granted, Sunday brunch times are going to be busy; but there is no excuse for waiting over an hour for a Grand Slam and Value Breakfast. A courtesy check in from the waitress would have gone a long way, not for an hour, but just to know we were not forgotten. Coffee was great, but never got a refill. The last straw was seeing the group that was seated after us getting their meal.
We couldn’t find the waitress to log our complaint, so we left.

My little siblings were hungry so they decided on Denny’s. And since this was closest to us we came here. We usually never have any problems coming here at all. When we got there the host Sonya was rude. went inside, looked around and notice the place looked different. We asked her if they remodeled the place, she responded so impolite to us with an attitude. Which made our mood a bit sour. Then she sat us down with no utensils and went to help another customer that came in, so I grabbed them myself. But thank goodness Javier was our server. His service made our time there very enjoyable and pleasant. If it wasn’t for Javier I would of rate with lower stars.

Went to this Denny’s location after Sunday church and the food was pretty good and the server was great.
I, as well as the friends I was with, always rate a restaurant by their restrooms… and unfortunately this one was very disappointing. I don’t know why Managers of restaurants do not make this one of their priorities… it really reflects how you treat your «kitchen».

The worst service I have had in a long time. Remodeling nice wait service needs to hustle. Ebony needs another career. We had slow none productive service the whole time and place is fairly empty. I will be heading to another Dennys from now on. Shame this used to be a good place to have a nice quick tasty meal …

I really love coming to dine here. They remodeled and it looks amazing! It’s very clean and nice. The food is delicious and I had no problems with my meal. The reason why I’m rating it a 4 star is because of a female hostess named Sophie or Sophia who had a very sour attitude that made me feel very uncomfortable, but my waiter named Javier did SUCH a great job and I left happy and satisfied.
I’d like to give a special thanks to Javier. I hope you get him as your waiter as well if you decide to come here!

Just ate at the dennys in Sacramento at 1322 Howe ave. Newly remodeled and just reopened. At the end of our dinner we looked up and saw a cockroach running across the table, to our horror. As we gasped in astonishment another ran across the other side of the table. Then horror of horrors we looked down and saw around 10 of them showing various signs of life. I advised the manager on duty and he was rather nonchalant and stated they were fumigating tonight. After I left I thought about that statement and wondered if they were closing to do the fumigation. I will not be returning to that Dennys ever again.

A short stay in a local Hotel had us running here for Breakfast after the offerings were out of date Yogurt and dry Bagels. I know. Denny’s isn’t fine dining but it was within a few miles and it was what Hubby wanted, probably better than our first option anyhow.
This location look a little worse for wear and upon entering had a funky musty type smell. Nonetheless we ate here anyway and ordered a couple of Combo’s along with a Coffee for my Husband. Service was efficient and the food arrived really fast. Like 7 or 8 minutes fast.
The food was your generic Denny’s fare, Sausage fine, Pancakes fine but really nothing worth getting excited about. As it just happened to be the morning of my Birthday I provided my ID and they comped my meal. One of the quickest Breakfast dining experiences I’ve had in a while. In and out within 45 minutes.

Came here after a night out bowling at country club lanes, everyone was heavily inebriated so we wanted something heavy to help digest the nights reign at the bowling alley bar.
I ordered a breakfast slam the food came out fast but I didn’t have my coffee yet nor did I get my water refilled (we were all thirsty after pounding shots at the bar) so it was a bit frustrating when we were neglected, however, to be fair there was 2 or 3 other parties that were there when we came in.
You are able to make minor substitutions with the discretion of the cook and the server. You cannot however substitute pancakes for french toast.
The location had two bathrooms that were relatively clean for a 24 hour diner. This location was a lot better than other Denny’s.
You can pay with cash or card.
Keep in mind that if you come to this location late at night you might encounter other college students that are drunk since its really close to Sacramento State University.

I’m writing to you today to inform you of the horrible experience I had today with the Dennys location at 1322 Howe ave. To start off, I placed an order to go and was placed on hold for over 10 minutes. Finally when I go ahold of someone. They were very rude. I was being rushed and the person (who didn’t tell me their name) seemed to be in another world because everything I said they repeated wrong. This person was trying to get me a «better deal» by combining an item and turning it into something different. Needless to say, when the bill came. There was no «better deal».
When I arrived (15 minute drive) I had to wait another 15 minutes. Even though the person on the phone said 10 minutes. All the waitresses completely ignored us. Finally when we got noticed they couldn’t find our order. When they did, it was all wrong. When we were done paying and in the car checking our food. That’s when we were shocked (photos included).
A side of seasoned fries with barely any fries. I paid $ 3.49 for this? Are you kidding me? Who places butter inside with the pancakes? A complete moron that’s who. It looks like urine and smells very bad. The chips were burnt and also smelled bad. To top it off, we were given 1 small container of cheese. Which I might add, smelled so bad it gave me a stomach ache after words. Also I clearly said NO SALSA. We were still charged for it. At other Dennys I don’t get charged. Horrible place

Busy for Tuesday late night, but this Dennys open ²⁴⁄₇ and service was fast.
