Neat little hardware store downtown. Prices are definitely a bit higher than the larger home improvement stores but its nice being able to be in and out quickly if your in the area. I also dig the outside artwork on the walls, its fairly neat. Parking situation isn’t the greatest but ive seen worse in other parts of sac.

I don’t know why I love hardware stores. Perhaps its because I was dragged to them so many times as a child and had to listen to my pops argue with the guy in the hardware department over the wrong screw size or why the cheaper bracket won’t work… I simply don’t know the answer, but I do know that I dig East Sacramento Hardware. This place is run by smiley faced people who are ALWAYS willing to answer your questions in a kind professional manner and I believe they truly care about your project and want you to get it right. When I go to the hardware store I usually have an in-and-out plan. Unfortunately, this is not how it usually goes down for me as I find it easy to get lost in the isles. East Sacramento Hardware is a store that has a little bit of everything and is well worth perusing… From hardware to bird feeders, plants, to sheet rock and to my delight this place has an exceptional assortment of jars and lids for canning fruits and vegetables. With that said, I must mention that the parking is somewhat limited here(minus 1 star.) On the other hand, the customer service at East Sac Hardware pales in comparison to other large mainstream hardware stores, which makes it worth the drive and tight parking quarters. Above all this is a great local store that will undoubtedly meet your hardware needs with a smile :).

They didn’t have what I wanted but they gave me the name, phone number and address of the place that DID have the part I needed. They did not make a sale off of me on this day, but they will very soon with that(sharing) attitude. Thank you

Great hardware store. They saved my butt with a great Xmas tree stand when no other would work! And I didn’t have to break the bank. Great products; they seem to have everything you might need… it’s cute and old fashioned too.

If you are looking for customer service this is your place. Also, they have hard to find items. I needed a certain screw for a door and no one in town had it, except this place and it cost 13 cents.

East Sac Hardware makes you look forward to that next home project! The staff is always super friendly and helpful. It is tiny in size compared to the«big box» hardware stores… but I’ve always found what I came looking for here.

I’ve come here for everything from sprinkler parts to screen door parts to plants, and every single time I have been impressed by their selection and their service. East Sacramento Hardware is a neighborhood institution. Dog friendly and locally owned; it doesn’t get much better than that!

We’re so lucky to have this longtime hardware store right in our own neighborhood! When I don’t want to deal with the immensity of the big box hardware stores, and need some real customer service and advice, I always head to East Sac Hardware. And the fresh popcorn is always an added bonus!

I love this place. I have always been able to get help with any question I’ve had, even when I am only looking for an item that costs only a few cents, someone has been willing to help me find what I need. Paint mixing, glass cutting, keys cut and basic garden supplies and hardware keep me coming back instead of driving to the big box store down the road. We’re very lucky to have this place in our neighborhood!

The East Sac hardware store is awesome. I go there instead of Home creepo because i hate corporations and shop local. ESH is helpful and friendly, they have lots of home pluming repair materials, gardening supplies, paint ect. we’ve been going there for 50 yrs.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would! This is our second time coming here, wanted to make sure it wasn’t just a one time bad service, but yet again it was our second time getting horrible service. Went to have some glass cut and the person who cuts the glass could not correctly measure anything to save his life and got mad at us that he kept cutting the grass in correctly and literally told us «go somewhere else». Wow great customer service… Not. He gave the best advice… Go somewhere else! Update — We provided the dimensions needed to the glass cutter Twice as he scoffed at what we told him to cut and he decided not to cut the pieces to the dimensions given. The frame was not broken the bottom of the frame opens up to hold two pieces of glass within the frame as most floating frames are made. Please have the facts correct first.

If you are lucky enough to stumble upon this small but perfectly stocked palace of DIY supplies you will be pleasantly left alone(after a warm greeting) to think out your plans, after a nice bit of time if you haven’t found what you need they will conveniently be right there to help you. They are open an hour later then the other hardware stores near by also. I was just there in a pinch and was helped by a polite guy with a gift for problem solving. I explained my issue and what I was hoping to find, unfortunately they did t have the exact piece I created into possibly existing but he grabbed 2 pieces and made me my miracle part right there, saving me major money and avoiding a need to replace a bigger piece of my plumbing situation. Thank you nice guy at east sac hardware, you must be the love child of Bob Vila and Macgyver(in a beanie)

I’ve been coming here for over 14 years and I’ve grown weary of their cold customer service. Twice recently, I’ve been brushed off by two different staff members. Some of the staff can be very helpful. Others are impatient and unpleasant. I’m no masculine construction guy, so maybe that’s the issue. A little pleasantness goes a long way in my book, however.

Hilariously unhelpful, these people are their own worst enemy. I have tried this place over 10 years and can only depend on it for having keys reproduced, anything else I am clearly too ignorant to shop there. I cannot believe they are in business after all these years.

Awesome customer service! Awesome hardware store! I needed screws and washers for a used dinner table that I recently picked up. As I was in a bit of a hurry, the lady helping me took my screws and washers in the back to match them, came back out in a minute or so, and I was on my way. My dinner table was stable and ready for a dinner party the same evening. I highly recommend.

First off, I’ll get the obvious negatives out of the way. Parking here can be awkward, and the selection is not what you’d find in a big box hardware store. Of course you’re not going to get the same experience at a small community hardware store as you would at a ginormous warehouse-style store further out from the city center. I believe prices are also a bit higher, but again — that’s not surprising. Who can compete with Home Depot? On the other hand, East Sac Hardware has a certain charm, and you know that each purchase here is a dollar vote for important things like small local-owned businesses and employees who know what they’re talking about. Also, nobody’s going to come up to you and try to sell you direct TV or insurance or whatever else those obnoxious wandering salespeople try to pitch at the bigger stores. If you need some guidance, you’re much more likely to get it at East Sac Hardware than at Home Depot. Capable guidance, anyway. There are some good employees at the bigger stores, but you’ll also find a lot more who are either useless for advice, or who will steer you in the wrong direction. Small hardware stores depend on their ability to make good recommendations and offer competent help, and that’s just what East Sac Hardware does. Some of the employees here are a bit… surly…but most are friendly. Overall, it’s a good little store and I hope people will continue to support this small business.

East Sacramento Hardware is an old-fashioned neighborhood hardware, paint, housewares and nursery store They’re locally owned. Helpful. Occasionally grouchy. Always a cut above HD or Lowe’s.

By far, my favorite hardware store! There is something about local stores that is really charming. You can only find an old dog walking around a local store! I don’t have too much to say but other than the fact that the people there are very helpful. If they don’t have the specific item you are looking for, they will try to an equivalent or let you know where you can get it. They offer everything from paint, gardening supplies, plumbing, toys, and even pet supplies! If I ever need any hardware supplies, this would be my first time before I go to Home Depot.
