First American Title

I would never recommend going through this title company if you plan on refinancing your home.
Our home closed escrow after refinancing on 3÷17÷15 and we just now received the escrow refund we were entitled to.
I was first told that it would be arriving in 1 – 2 weeks. I called after it was over two weeks without receiving it and I was told by whoever answered the phone that they were in training and did not want to give me bad information so she would pass the question off to an escrow officer who would call me back that day. Never received the call. I had to call again the next day to finally get an update.
I was given some story that the county had the check still — which I understand — but they couldn’t cancel the check to the county because they can’t cancel a government check… so more waiting for me. After 3 more weeks I call and at this point it is like my money is being held hostage. FINALLY I’m told that they will issue me a new check and send it out right away… so why couldn’t you do that in the first place?
I had to literally fight with so many people to get my refund. If you see that your mortgage company is going to use First American, demand someone else. So annoying that you can’t get the money these companies owe you, but if you don’t pay up right when they want their money they will ruin you.

I’ve bought and sold several properties over the years and never have I experienced the extremely professional and quick service that I did with Jamie Morse Kincaid at American Title. Very fast and simple! I highly recommend them at this location. (There seem to be other American Titles at other locations. Not sure if they moved, or just have an abundance of offices).
