Not the easiest place to find its in the back of a shopping center but worth finding. Good food and good service. The place is small and could use a serious scrubbing but food was fresh and tasty and service was fast. Good price. Lunch is one trip only and dinner is all you can eat. Lunch for $ 7.50 you get your bbq a soup rice and wontons plus soft serve ice cream. Would go again

This place has been around forever and I decided to try it one night when I was craving some Mongolian BBQ. Where to start tho. Service was good but that was the only good thing. The food was not good but if you are super drunk or starving it will do. All the ingredients were low/empty and they didn’t really care to keep things filled. This place was super dirty also. Everything was dusty and didn’t seem they wiped anything down. The people are nice and service good so I’m giving the spot 2 stars out of respect. TlL;DR Subpar food, good service, low cleanliness

This place is dirty. I don’t know how they pass inspection. The food is ok. The walls need to be cleaned

The Mongolian was average. I was excited to get two to go containers for my picky son and I. When I went for my last bowl, I returned to find the owner lady had came and taken a Togo container away. Won’t be coming back here

I cannot believe this place has passed any type of health inspection. It is the dirtiest restaurant I have ever seen. The walls are splattered with grease and grime. Even the windows are impossible to see through! Hard to enjoy your food there… disgusting. Will never return.

The food was pretty good with a good selection of fresh ingredients for your bowl. Not the best Mongolian bbq in the sac area but not bad. The interior of the place could use some updating.

We’ve been here a few times, and it’s as tasty as you make it. Looking past the décor, service is very friendly and we’ve always been greeted immediately walking in. They seat you at a table and then you’re free to start on the food line. While you’re there, someone brings single serve rice and soup to the table. At the food line, you grab a bowl and start with meat– pork, beef, turkey, lamb. They come in these thin curly slices. Next up is noodles and veggies, followed by sauces. Good stuff– house, soy sauce, spicy something, cooking oil, sesame oil, cooking wine, and vinegar. At the counter where the chef takes your meal to cook is ginger, garlic, pineapple, jalapeños, and peanuts. It only takes about 3 — 5 minutes to cook and it comes through very hot. Great place and very inexpensive for the amount and quality of food. Recommended!

This little mama and pop restaurant has delicious and freshly made to order food. The price is extremely fair. I give it a 4 and not a 5 because I didn’t like the soup or rice provided with the meal. They have soft served vanilla ice cream that was pretty cool.

Ok my wife talked me into coming back to this place. And now the the great wall Mongolian bbq place on Howe ave is closed this is the closest one to us. The food is good the price is great. SERVICE had not gotten any better. So be warned. Every one in this place is cool except the lady waitress. The only thi you get that before you come back with ypur food. you get quick from her is the bill.

Oh shit I forgot about this place. There was a time in my life where I went here 2 – 3 times a week every week. Back before Mongo Mongo existed, which has since shut down sadly. It’s a little mom and pop place you can’t see from the street. Not much ambience, pretty bare bones. But they serve Mongo BBQ and that is all that matters. It’s hard to screw up Mongolian barbecue. You have to be very very bad at food. What’s different about this place is you can do one round and get take out. Most Mongolian places consider this a crime. But yeah we took the half hour trip out here on a regular basis so I could get my fix. Haven’t been back since then but I doubt much has changed.

If you want a big meal that can fill you up without having to go to a buffet style restaurant. Than Mongolian BBQ is always a good to go choice. I didn’t meal prep for lunch one day, and wanted to get something on the healthier side, and was tired of the places I’d been going to near work, and then found Golden Bowls… or so I thought. Because it turns out I’d actually been here once before with my dad for lunch. Golden Bowls is located in a strip mall of various businesses, and is in the back area in a mixology college. So they have some very interesting neighbors, lol. Once inside you’ll notice the the giant grilling area to your immediate right, with the cashier section to your immediate left, which is surrounded by the seating area to in the left the are food area to the right. It’s fine the most kept looking place inside, as it looks a little run down. But you’re not going here for fine dinning. One of the things I like about this location versus some of Mongolian BBQ locations that I’ve been to, throughout the greater Sacramento area. Is that is location doesn’t have that sign telling you«Don’t smash down the frozen meat, to fill your bowl». That just annoys me when we all know all and well, frozen cylinder shape objects take up a lot of room, which means less food in your bowl at the end once everything is cook.(*Note to Mongolian BBQ restaurants that do have a sign like that. Take it down, because that’s how you lose a repeat customer). So as you go down the prep lane, you transcend from four different types of meats, to noodles, to vegetable, and then to toppings. At the end of the walk down«Let’s see how high I make my bowl mound» lane, you come to the sauces section. And this place conveniently has a mixture list for their sauce options. That gives you the most popular and complimentary combinations, based on different flavors. Overall: I good place for some thing quick, or to sit down and enjoy a nice hearty meal. That will leave you feeling stuffed for under $ 8!

This place is pretty awesome! I love Mongolian BBQ, unfortunately I moved to an area that is not close to any of these wonderful restaurants. I stumbled upon this place and I am hooked! Fast service, the staff are always so so nice and welcoming. Guess what? You can get a plate to go as well. So eat 1 here and take 1 to go, you have to pay for the to go but… mmm mmm left overs are amazeballs !!! A+ service for sure! I will keep coming here every time I get a chance!

We just discovered this place right down the street from my new house. When you first walked in, it does look like a hole in the wall Reataurant but all I usually care about the food. It had the perfect amount of ingredients available, I wish that they had fresh jalapeños, but other than that, I like the selection. My husband usually just likes meat noodles and onions, so he was excited. The food tasted good all the sauces tasted good, the only thing I can say is the place needs a little bit of updating as far as the Décor. Four stars for food and service, one star off because the bathroom was very very very gross. Probably the dirtiest bathroom at a restaurant I’ve ever been in my entire life.

I’ll be straight up and just get straight to the point. I did not like this place whatsoever ! We decided to try this place out for dinner yesterday because we love noodles and what better way to get your fix then at an all you can eat Mongolian barbecue ? Upon walking in, we weren’t acknowledged. It took what seemed like forever to get seated. It was to the point where I actually thought we were supposed to seat ourself. As soon as we were seated, we got up to fill our bowls and realized they have such little selection compared to our usual spot. No tofu, no wonton noodles, no white pepper, no cilantro, no fresh jalapeño(only pickled. Ack!) and the list could go on and on! As soon as we started eating, I immediately noticed how disgusting their meat selection tasted. I opted for turkey and chicken and wanted to stop eating as soon as I noticed that their meat had this extremely foul taste and smell. No amount of salt and sauce could take away that horrible smell and taste. It wasn’t just my food either, my bf who got all beef said that they use low grade meat. Their noodles were super tough as well. I would say that the only good things we had that visit were vegetables and soft serve . No need to state the obvious and say if I’d come back or not.

Golden Bowls Mongolian BBQ is the only Mongolian BBQ that I know of in the area. On the outside this place doesn’t seem much… well actually the inside too. As you walk in you can smell the food cooking on the huge wok so prepare to smell like that on your clothes. The lady will ask you how many people and if you wanted to go just let her know so she can get your a box set up near the cooks. If you decide to eat there, the lady will pick a random spot for you or you can select a table and then you can go straight to the bowls. For lunch it’s one bowl only but if you don’t finish it you are allowed to take the rest of your food home. I believe dinner is all you can eat and obviously you can’t take food home. I have only ate here during lunch since it’s close to my work place. In the beginning of the food display you have your meats which include pork, beef, chicken, turkey/lamb. Then you have thick noodles or regular size noodles. Veges include cabbage, bean sprouts, carrots, broccoli, zucchini, celery, tomatoes, and other ones. Sauces are up next which range from soy sauce, teriyaki, kung pao, and house special. You also have cooking oil, sugar, vinegar, and sesame oil. You made add a scoop of ginger, garlic, or chili oil and after they cook it you can put peanuts cilantro, and jalapenos. Two cooks are by the wok ready to cook your food. The cooks are nice gentlemen with a smile on their face. And if you appreciate them cooking for you they have a tip jar and they say thank you every time you tip them. By the time your food is ready you walk back to your table and everything will be laid out. Bowl of soup and rice with a small portion of won ton strips with sweet and sour sauce. Once you settle down at the table the lady will ask you what you would like to drink. The lady works really hard and most of the times she is by herself taking care of everyone. She runs around often but if you catch her attention she will help you out. At the end if you still have room you can get some ice cream from the machine near the bowls. Definitely worth a try if you are craving for Mongolian BBQ

This is my go to restaurant whenever I can’t decide what to eat. Its cheap, fresh, sizzling hot, and just DELICIOUS! Ive been here more than I can count… Its that good. At first I was frightened by the interior as it is not very sanitary but after the tenth visit, it no longer bothered me. I just focused on my delicious bowl of noodles! I’ve become the queen of stacking tall Mongolian bowls and I’m nothing but proud of it. Who wouldn’t enjoy left overs for the next few days?! The secret is to pack on the meats and veggies first, add your desired sauces as it will help melt down the frozen meats. LASTLY, pack on the noodles! Although dinner is AYCE, I always pack on one bowl so I could take home the left overs. The best deal is lunch time, only 6.95 for one bowl! I could careless about the soup, wonton skins, and rice provided. The star of the place is their piping hot bowl of noodles!!!

I came to Golden Bowls Mongolian BBQ for lunch on a weekday because I was seeking something different. It was hard to find because it’s located right off Folsom Blvd but in the back of a business park so if you miss the small sign out front or don’t know the address, you might be driving around for awhile. The inside leaves a lot to be desired. The booths are old and cracked, windows aren’t clean, décor is nonexistent and the ceiling looks like it has seem many leaks in its day. Otherwise it’s your typical Mongolian BBQ place with a few meats to choose from, noodles, veggies and sauces. I decided to fill my bowl with mostly chow mein noodles and top it with some broccoli, spinach and bean sprouts. For the sauce I didn’t take any of their recommendations, but doubled the portions hoping that my bowl would have more flavor. My bowl came out well with the noodles and veggies perfectly cooked, but not with enough flavor. I really think no matter how many scoops of sauce you put in, everyone’s bowls come out tasting about the same since they are all cooked and mixed around on the same grill. It was still tasty(and reasonably priced) so I would come back just for this because I could have done without the soup, rice and wontons they set at our table. The soup was gelatinous and had zero flavor(bleh!) and the wontons were only OK, a little undercooked. I would come back here again but probably take my meal to go next time. They only allow you one bowl at lunch, but you are allowed to take leftovers home which is nice. Dinner is unlimited but no leftovers.
