This location is closed as of today. I have family who works here and Elk grove. They are both closed along with the country club plaza store.

I am always torn on how to review a restaurant such as this because do I rate it based on what you should expect from a place such as this or do you rate is based on a higher standard? Are there any Home Town Buffets that offer high quality food and service? Don’t you eat at this restaurant knowing darn well that the food sucks? So basically, the food is not good… it is cheap and it tastes like it, but sometimes you just need some cheap buffet food. I am pretty irritated that they took away the discount they were offering county employees because I feel like we really brought them a lot of business. I don’t usually eat here any longer because of that bad taste in my mouth(no pun intended). This restaurant is also in a sketchy part of town if that is something that bothers you. But hey, all you can eat! They did have some extra items on the menu and the staff is pretty friendly so I guess they can have 2 stars. I also think it is crazy that you feel like you have to tip the«servers». Are they really doing anything to deserve a tip? Should I even be tipping them? All they do is clear your plate and sign their name on your receipt! Anything else? Nope…

We went here for Thanksgiving dinner because most restaurants closed early. Price is adequate like $ 12 – 13 adult and almost half price for the kids. Staff are friendly from the register all the way to the table cleaner. For the price, you get what you paid for mainly American dish. Prime rib is juicy, a lot of salads, desserts, and main course. Although the chicken pot pie tasted like a lot of salt/msg.

I really like the food but I know it’s not the greatest quality. Definitely better than Mc Donalds and a lot more variety since it’s a buffet. I really like that they have a a chef that cooks fresh omelets for you for free. However he only comes on some days and time of the week, so if you miss him or her, there is no hope for fresh omelets. So make sure to call in and check so you get the most out of your money.

My husband, myself and our daughter had dinner here this evening an we were UTTERLY disappointed!!! The food was INCREDIBLY bland and lukewarm at best. Not to mention the HORRIBLY poor selection. Even the desserts were horrible. My husband got some cookies that were so hard they were more like crackers! To say this place is overpriced is putting it mildly! I would NOT recommend this restaurant to ANYONE! Unless you want to waste your hard earned money. The ONLY good thing was the friendly staff.

For a buffet that serves ok American food, this place is ok. The price is pretty decent and cheaper then other Asian buffets but the food lacks selection. If you want some fried chicken along with some sausage and mac n cheese, this is a great place for all you can eat.

Recently for fathers day we had came here brunch, since dad want this and i love being a fatty when i am here hehe. we came in around 10:45am and surprisingly there was no line, i was like wow. the reason why i say there is a line usually, is because before 11am you still pay the breakfast price which a few bucks cheaper than lunch price. i guess people either came in early or went somewhere else to eat or maybe just stayed home and bbq, who knows what dads like. anyways i was like better for me not to wait to get in. so now i found a table quickly and then went straight for the food since time is tick tocking. usually around 10:55 am they start putting away the breakfast food and changing it to lunch. i came here for brunch of course i want some pancakes, bacon, eggs, and shrooms, or their crispy waffles before they are all gone. then i like to get a plate of their lunch plates. some of my favorite items for my lunch plate is their sweet corn, mash and gravy, their fried chicken legs, orange chicken, and mac and cheese. i also love to finish off with a nice fresh plate of salad. then here i go to the dessert bar and grab me some good old fashioned cheesecake, and ice cream with lots of drenched butterscotch! i think i mention too much for my meal plan for brunch haha, do you think you can keep up with me? ok for the brunch part i think its amazing! here is some reason why. i like how they have a Mexican twist in their brunch with some menudo served in the hot soup selection. let me tell you its pretty darn good if you spice it well with some fresh yellow onions, and cilantro, and hot pepper flakes, and squeeze a good size wedge of lime or lemon to make it sooo refreshing good! i also like the old fashion style american good old waffles, pancakes, and crispy bacons and sausages. with some nice syrup to go with it or even their cranberry sauce mmmm. i also like how their brunch have a good souther twist with whipping up some good butter grits. yes grits are good for you, just don’t drown it in butter. kk this is why i think brunch here is amazing! ok now for lunch i do like my veggies! yes they do served lots of veggies during lunch if your a vegetarian. i always catch myself eating more veggies than meat. i do like the steam cabbage, sweet corn, steamed broccoli, my fresh green salads. their salad bar is amazing and clean and organized most times. i do like to create my own salad without dressing and just splash it with some balsamic and olive oil. i do love their seafood salad pasta. amazing, and their broccoli coleslaw with raisins! their soup during lunch is always good olé hearty chicken noodle soup… always a nice combo with soup and salad for lunch. ok for dinner yes they are good too. they do serve some amazing meat such as prime rib, steak, and fried shrimps on certain days. i do not come to dinner often but once in a while i do come here for dinner. mainly i like coming here during brunch on weekends and lunch during week days. service is always friendly and takes away you dirty plates. i like how sometimes they are social with you if they are not too busy. mainly just take away my plates and let me have more room for new plates were are in good standards lol. overall i am fan of this place for all ages which is good. i like it when everyone eats til they roll out of their and complain how much they over eat. its always such an entertainment and a good giggle. thanks for reading and have a good day :)

I’d never been to a Hometown Buffet until now. It’s super cheap at less than $ 10 per person for lunch. The food is mediocre though– not that I was expecting much. There was a good variety of food, but only a few appealed to me. The salad greens didn’t look fresh. The make your own tacos bar was pretty cool. I think what I liked most was the sausage. When I was getting my food, I started thinking about how sanitary buffets actually are when everyone touches the tongs, or when the tongs drop into the food. Eek. I won’t say I’ll stay away from all buffets, but I’d rather go to other places.

I will give this Hometown buffet 5 stars because of its great customer service. The food is good, but not great. The restaurant is not located in the best of neighborhoods, but the staff is very friendly and make you feel welcome. The cooks are very friendly also. If you want breakfast on the weekends get here early because the place will be packed and the line will be long. One of my only complaints is that the price of the drinks in my opinion is a little too high for this place. Other than that I would recommend this place to anyone.

I ate here this afternoon. The service was great and the staff were attentive. That was the best part of the experience. The food was low quality. The quantity wasn’t a problem. So here is my summation. Good service, bad food, Prices mild.

Usually when I think of buffets, I think of a variety of foods. Asian, Japanese, American, Mexican along with seafood. Not at HomeTown Buffet. Their choices were far and few in between. My friend and I went to lunch last week and we didn’t even get seated.(Even though they had a big sign that said wait to be seated). The cashier just told us to seat ourselves and when we did, we didn’t have even a single server acknowledge us. We saw a lot of friendly service from the servers, just not with us. LOL. They only had Mexican and American food. The only thing close to being Asian was their Sesame chicken and American rice, which tasted like Uncle Ben’s rice. They had fresh fruit but that was it. None of the food they had on display looked enticing so I stuck with the asian food. Hard rice and sesame chicken! LOL we should have went next door to PANDAWOK instead! I would not come back to HomeTown Buffet again. After we ate the crummy food they had, we just left and still no one said anything to us. It was by far the weirdest experience I’ve ever had and it definitely was NOT worth the 15.00 a person. I would not recommend this place unless you are REALLY desperate. This is my first and last time coming here.

I had a coupon for lunch yesterday. So for 7.50 including tip I had a typical Home Town buffet lunch. The reason they got 3 stars and not fewer was because the help seems a lot more friendly than before. And I was in need of a large salad.

I came here a couple times with my friends so I actually wanted to go there a couple times before a write a review. The cashiers and waiter/waitress are very nice and helpful. There were many variety of food as well as a clean salad bar. The thing I dislike the most is that throughout my visits to this place, they fail to replenishment ah the food. Overall great place to dine out with couple of friends.

It is rather embarrassing to admit that I have come here more than once. Surely the prevalence of obesity, waddling, canes, and walkers should be taken as seriously as four visits from the Ghost of Heart Disease and Type 2 Diabetes Future. As seems to be the case with most buffets, some of their food is good, some of their food is mediocre, and far too much of their tableware is dirty. I enjoyed the omelette that was made to order, although I would have preferred for it to be much smaller. Always remember that the greatest benefit of a buffet is in its variety, not its quantity.

Nope. Had a craving for buffet food and was good all week so we decided to go out. First choice was Golden Corral. They had a half hour wait so we decided to go to the Hometown Buffet which was close by. Big mistake. We had gone to Hometown Buffets in the past and left very disappointed. We had never been to this one however do we entered cautiously optimistic. No surprise however, it was awful. From half the food choices of GC, watery white rice, uncooked baked potatoes, they had tarter sauce out but absolutely no seafood, gristly steak that we had to wait 20 minutes for, no ice in the beverage dispensers, trying to pass ketchup for salsa at the taco bar and I could go on and on. And the final slap to the face, what does everyone look forward to at the end of a buffet meal? Soft serve ice cream. Not today. Nope, the machine was out of order and all the other choices resembled the runny bread pudding we saw Eddie enjoying at the $ 1.99 buffet in Vegas Vacation. And don’t think I am just a disgruntled customer Hometown Buffet who likes to trash restaurants on Unilocal. This marks the fourth time I have eaten at one of your restaurants and the fourth time I have been disappointed. There won’t be a fifth. Read your guys survey I did as well. Go to Golden Coralline or No 1.

This was my first experience at a Golden Corral, and usually buffets are not my fave choice. This restaurant was fairly clean and most employees were adhering to food handling procedures. Food: the presentation was nice, and options are plentiful here. The scrambled eggs were slightly undercooked, the sausage links were dry, and the French Toast was tasteless. I did like the sugar free syrup being right next to the regular syrup. The bacon was excellent, cinnamon roll was tasty, and the fruit was perfect. Wish I would have tried the custom omelette station instead of trying the scrambled eggs! Service: the wait staff was very attentive throughout the visit. Overall, it was an okay experience and I’d be willing to return for the lunch/dinner versions.

When it comes to buffets, my eyes are always bigger than my stomach. And for my birthday, Hometown hooked it up with an entrée AND a drink! Which is basically the only time I really go to Hometown; when I have a BOGO birthday coupon! Make sure you sign up for one ;) Now when it comes to buffets, there are two«rules» I always follow. The first is that expectations have to be lowered. You can’t expect phenomenal food when you paid ~$ 10 for all you can eat! I came in expecting decent food and was impressed because Hometown has definitely gotten better over the years. Second, I grab just a «taste» of everything that could fit on my plate. This way, I don’t get sick of a my food and throw it away(tisk tisk). Just bc you’re at a buffet doesn’t mean you need to go all out on every single entrée! Same goes for fountain drinks, there are no rules that state you must fill your cup to the rim. Fill it up halfway so you can come back and refill with another drink! That’s the beauty of a buffet: VARIETY. Now back to the specifics: Hometown now has a spice area with all the spices and sauces you would need, even sriracha! The garlic bread wasn’t stale(which was what I expected), the orange chicken tasted like Panda Express, the rice wasn’t hard, the steak was juicy, the salads were fresh, and the desserts were delectable! They had seafood salad, pasta salad, spring mix salad, potato salad, all the salads you can think of! And it was all pretty good. They recently sent home coupons for $ 6.99 a meal, don’t be a fool and pay full price. SIGNUPFORTHEBIRTHDAYMEAL or look for coupons ;)
