This place is really fun but if you’re a woman make sure you go with guys and not just your girlfriends because I went with my sister-in-law and there was a bunch of guys that were playing next to us saying gross things. Asking us to go out, talking about our body parts, just harassing us. All we wanted to do was play. It’s not like we’re at a bar dressed like we wanted said attention. We wanted some time to relax and have fun and all we wore were jeans and tshirts. It was just very uncomfortable.

We came here with a group-on which included 2 hours of play time, 2 nachos, and four sodas for $ 15. However, I probably would never come here without a group-on since the normal price for this is outrageous. It would have cost us over $ 30! The atmosphere was okay, but there were some sketchy people hanging out and a kid about 10 years old in the bar area. There was a baby playing on the pool tables and throwing balls around the entire place too. The baby was also running around and screaming… Not really relaxing. Also, the nachos were just a handful of chips and fake nacho cheese. I know it was fake because I am extremely lactose intolerant and I was able to eat these without an issue. Anyways, after our time ran out for the 2 hours the price racked up pretty quick so watch the clock.

Good spot to shoot some pool. Decent area, decent prices. There are two ping pong tables which was a plus! Workers were also nice and chill!

My buddy and I came here with a Groupon. We were worried since it is in a semi-shady area or at least definitely blue collar. Coming in, maybe 5 tables were played on at around 10:30pm. I think it was a Friday night. The guy and the lady working there were pretty cool and friendly. We had a good time with 2 hours of pool, nachos and 2 sodas. Kinda worn out tables and bad cues, but good if you have your own. Everyone minded their business and no one caused any trouble to speak of. Funny, I talked to the lady and she said she hoped my buddy and I would come back because their regular clientele was nothing like us. LOL. Funny, the jukebox, which you pay to play, started with Mexican/Spanish music, then Guns and Roses and Van Halen, then ended up with some hardcore rap. Too funny!

Not gonna lie, this place is a little shady looking from the outside. But the owner, Rodney, is an awesome guy with really good tables and a chill atmosphere. The people are friendly and approachable. My only issues are the the lack of variety in beer offerings, and the sucky pool cues. Definitely bring your own cue if you have one. It was 35 for 2 hours and a pitcher of Modelo.

Had a great time here with friends after catching a mid-week show at Punch Line just down the street. Lots of tables, a jukebox with plenty of music, good beer selection with reasonable prices. Even two ping-pong tables! Bartender was very friendly and took great care of us. Would definitely go back!

Nice pool hall tucked away by arden area, owner Bob made the place very soothing with good music and atmosphere. It was about 6 so was a bit early for us to drink, but certainly had a good selection and fairly priced. Tables were a bit worn but still doable and it was just a fun place to be. Definitely will come back around to shoot another round.

I have since had great service and played on some good tables. They try to keep the tables in good shape and there is plenty of room to play. They also host charities sometimes.

This place is awesome ! I come with my friends all the time. The first time I come it it was really nice. I went to the front and asked for a table. All they asked for was my id and then they game me the balls. They let me pick my own table. They sold sodas for a dollar and chips. There nachos are really good. You can also choose a song for a dollar to play on there speakers. They reason why I didn’t give them 5 stars is because I would like them to have a cleaner bathroom Over all they are really nice, cheap and just a good time. I recommend this place.

I have read these reviews and they are fake and full of lies. I just went here with a friend last night around 11:00PM to just play a quick game of pool. We got to the counter to order and saw a food menu up on the wall with a ‘Tuesday Taco’s’ special, when we tried to order some though the staff just laughed and said ‘good luck with that’, then said ‘the only taco in here is pink’ and laughed while pointing at the woman who worked there but was sitting on her laptop at the counter. She didn’t say anything about it but also didn’t look amused with the guys comment. So I gave them my I.D. for a rack and then ordered two bottles of Henry Weinhard’s root beer for my friend and I. we played our one quick game, drank our soda’s, and went to turn our rack back in. When I approached the counter to turn in my rack I said, ‘I’m going to need my I.D. back too, because as I paid, he handed me my change back with no I.D. Then he replied, ’ yeah I’ve been doing this for a while now’, and then handed me the wrong I.D. I’m caucasian and the guy on the I.D. was clearly black, so I said, ‘maybe you need more time at it because that I.D. is the wrong complexion’. He then dug around in a little box until he found my I.D. and said, ‘here, try that one.’ I was charged $ 16.50 for 30 mins of pool and two bottles of root beer. As far as I’m concerned it was too expensive. Especially because they have no food, the customer service is a joke, and the pool tables look like they’ve never been re-felted. I will be going to a bar to play pool next time, because Hot Shot’s has made me weary of billiards places all together now. If you like people price gouging you for your money then this is the place for you, I however will never step foot in there again. Terrible!

I give 5 stars to owners in Sacramento of businesses and particularly service related business who can actually deliver and repeat customer and keep them for over 20 years. Spectacular atmosphere that has been lost in today’s pool halls. Hot Shots makes all the favorite memories and integrates something new all the time. A little bit of everything in John’s place. Very nice regular crowd and good flow on the weekends. Great just outta the way location near to Arden Mall, Theaters, Restaurants and good secure parking and staff. Great deals on pool and beverage combos and specials on week nights. Recommend people to at least try it out. Have fun!

This place wins! My girlfriend and I, along with her sister played pool for almost 2 hours, got a pitcher of bud light. Walked out spending like $ 25! The place was ¼ full on the friday night we went. And half full the next night. Customer service = 5 stars! We’re definitely making this place a regular stop.

This pool hall isn’t as big as the other ones, but it is still a fun place to hang out with some friends! Prices are average, and darts run $ 2 and hour and are actual metal sharp darts. The people running and staffing the place were very friendly too! At their«bar» they serve certain bottled drinks and soda cans. They seem to be missing food, but they didn’t have a problem with bringing outside food inside.

I absolutely love this pool hall… I used to frequent with my(ex) boyfriend every Friday and Saturday night. We lived right around the corner off of Alta Arden and were there all the time. I stopped in a few nights ago with a friend for the first time in YEARS… ever since I moved away from the area I hadn’t gone back. It’s still just the same — very relaxed, simple, no drama — a great night of pool and a few pitchers of beer. Pool is an awesome game to play with a boy/girlfriend/husband/wife because it’s semi-intimate(one on one) but also social. I have been playing for over 20 years and just love it. You can’t get any better than this pool hall — the equipment is in good shape, the staff is super friendly, inviting, and helpful. Our bill at the end of the night(about 1.5 hours, as it was late, we didn’t arrive until about midnight) was some $ 22… $ 10 for pool, and $ 12 for a pitcher of Heineken. Next time, we go in earlier, for 2 or 3 pitchers and 3 hours pool :)

My friend John is the owner, he’s been in business for quite some time. His pool hall used to be located off of Alta Arden by the Mattress Express. I’ve been going there since I was 16, it’s changed from the busy night life it was but if you want a chill laid back pool hall with a juke box, random ppl, a few bar games, and lots of room this is the place to go. Pools decently priced and Sundays there’s free pool :)
