This place has been around for decades and it’s still as good as it was way back when. Better tacos, taco burgers, cheese quesadillas, better everything than the«new and improved» one in Folsom. THIS is Jimboy’s.

Lose weight, the Jimboy’s way! How do they do this, you ask? They use the time tested technique of eating less! You see, sometimes when you go out to lunch thinking you want three tacos, you are mistaken. You actually want two tacos. That’s where Jimboy’s comes in. After placing your order, your weight loss coach(they call ‘em cashiers) will make sure you get the two tacos you ACTUALLY need. Don’t worry about losing will power, though. Even if you were to go to the register and ask for for third taco, you’d be informed that two is how many you’re getting! Thanks, Jimboy’s!

First off, I love Jimboy’s. It is my favorite place to get tacos from. This is however my first time going to this location as the one on folsom has closed down. When I do come in to a Jimboy’s it’s always on a Wednesday or Saturday as that is my favorite daily special. Two minutes after I ordered my number was called. I was surprised, and a little suspicious, on how quickly my food came out. I didn’t think much about it since it is a busy place and I’d assume they kept things rolling fast. However, looking at my ground beef taco I could see the beef was way over done as if it had been sitting somewhere already cooked for a while. The chicken taco was soggy and broke apart easily as I bit into it. It didn’t even taste like chicken and I’m going to assume sat somewhere as well. This is very disappointing as I love Jimboy’s and this would be my first bad experience from one. I would of returned it but I got my order to go as I was not able to eat there. So I give this place 2 stars as the extra tortilla, rice, and beans were average, but not spectacular. To me this location has sacrificed the quality of food for speed.

I was craving Jimboys Tacos last night and the one closest to me is no longer in business so I choose to go to this one on Arden. Well needless to say I won’t be going back. My taco shells were hard the meat tastes old. They only thing good was the pinto beans.

I had never been to Jimboys before, but my coworker loves it, so I went to pick up lunch for us both. I do like Taco Bell, so I was curious to see how they compared. First of all the restaurant is smaller(it has a lot of seats inside but everything is super crammed in) and no drive thru. It’s an older building next to a Starbucks. They did have a nice clean salsa bar which I had never seen before but it was a pleasant surprise. I ordered a Bean and Cheese Burrito and an order of Nachos. I liked how the burrito tortilla was fried on the outside(a welcome change) but I didn’t like how they used nacho cheese inside of the burrito(instead of melted cheese) and there was no sauce inside. I liked the nacho chips a lot, they tasted fresh and they give you a big serving for $ 2.99 and the nacho cheese was good but could have used more spice. Service was super fast for it being lunch rush(I only had to wait a minute for my food) but not super friendly or talkative. Overall I would come back again when seeking a change from Taco Bell or while drinking. It seems like really good drunk food.

(–1 star not possible) Dearest Jimboy Arden Owner. I asked for a Full size Bean and Cheese burrito not to be confused with the Junior it is cheaper and much, much, much smaller right Jimboy Cook Ladies?.. For 2 years! they hit on my man and disrespected me, I find them all sad, rude and they pretending to not understand my words insults worse. No!.. Keep your tiny Fish Tacos!, Returned my order over 8 times in 2 years and heard everyone of their jokes in Spanish about me. NOCOMPRENDE¿.Well thats fine… I know and speak Unilocal fluently. Greatest Jimboys food in Sacramento, nastiest attitudes… read the other Unilocalers reviews. Get it together! Have more patience with the elderly as well… Dont rush them because they use your coupons 0_O. No more breakfast plates Senoritas!

Certainly not the best Mexican food around, but it’s pretty good for the price. I stop in here when I want a quick meal that will fill me up, taste good and not break the bank. Not so good if you’re dieting, but who can watch what they eat all the time?

Will never be back, nasty dry food with zero flavor. I wish I could give lower than one. And I’m shocked I have no idea how this place had 4 stars. I’m mad jeremy wasted his money on this crap called food. I ordered the taco enchilada combo $ 8.99 and got a cheese enchilada and chicken taco. They have the nerve to charge .40 more for chicken. It came with rice, beans, salad, and flour tortilla. The rice was so dry it was almost like eating uncooked rice except for the slight red color and grease. The dab of beans was dry and flavorless. A can of rosarita has more flavor. The salad was shredded lettuce and some small diced tomatoes and a tiny packet of Italian dreasing. The cheese enchilada was ok, but not worth the price. And the chicken taco had no flavor either. To make me even more annoyed I had to pay $ 1.39 for a bag of chips. What the heck I hate mexican restaurants that don’t give you chips with a $ 9.50 meal. Why don’t they save the stupid useless flour tortilla and give me some chips. i won’t be back ever.

Let’s be real here… if you have a cheat day, you don’t want to spend a lot of money or time waiting for food, and you’re hungover! then most likely you will find yourself at Jimboy’s Tacos. It’s the best tasting guilty pleasure around and I don’t care what people say, this location makes them the best hands down! The ground beef tacos are obviously my favorite, but if you feel fancy you can get them on a plate which are accompanied by rice, re-fried beans, a flour tortilla and a small salad. Either way don’t come here and complain about the grease… that’s the whole point! I’m sorry but that’s where all the flavor and magical hangover cure powers exist… but I digress easily ooo butterfly! Anyway, the staff is always nice and friendly when I come here. This place does accept debit/credit with a small fee so no worries if you don’t have any cash on you when you arrive. Only con is that the parking lot isn’t that large with the Starbucks next door trying to claim their land.

When you want some greasy«ghetto food» it hits the mark. Highly recommend the nachos, fish taco and the basic beef taco. This is the only mexican fast food I’ve had where the fried taco shell is covered in parmesan cheese. Sounds sick, but somehow it works, and well!

Jimboy’s is a great fast food guilty pleasure. I always get the ground beef two taco plate. The tacos are just fantastic. I don’t know what they do to the beef, but it is crazy savory. The cheese on the outside of the taco shell is perfect. The platter is good and weird. You get the standard rice and beans, but the beans have a random tortilla chip sticking out of them. You get one rolled up foil-wrapped flour tortilla and a pile of shredded iceberg lettuce. I usually take some rice, beans and lettuce and roll them up in the tortilla. The salsa bar is great and the employees are extremely friendly at this location.

First time to a Jimboy’s Tacos in my entire life to date… I know I can hardly believe it either however had it not been for pure and utter exhaustion, late night running around and hunger pangs that gnawed at both of our stomach’s we never would have pulled into this JB’s and I’m so glad we did… On a side note I was so disgusted with myself as I had seen weekly coupons for JB’s for months now in the weekly mail and always chucked them only wishing I hadn’t so we could have saved a few bucks on our maiden voyage; however am looking for the coupons now AND today I see that Groupon has a deal going for $ 30 worth of JB’s coupons for the price of $ 15 so will be scoring them before it expires… LOVED: Salsa Bar: ALL you can eat and serve yourself. PLUS several different varieties that tasted fresh actually not bottled or canned so if they are bottled/canned good form for selecting the best pre-made stuff out there… Green, reds and my all time fav: Pico De Gallo which was beyond fresh and super tasty and slices of citrus as well; lemons/limes! I made several trips to the salsa bar as well I love salsa, spicy salsa and fresh and super flavorful and this fulfilled that need. And the salsa bar was CLEAN and well stocked not all blown to hell like so many others can be… Went with the Ground Beef Super Burrito hold the rice! Served with two sides of refried beans and FRESHLY made beans at that tasted better than any I’ve had in any other Mexican food joint yet which yet again blew my original concept out of the water but it was grubbin and so the pig out continued… No rice on the side either and a nice little fresh lettuce salad came with it. Deep fried burrito which I wasn’t expecting but was beyond delicious and fantastically greasy too; not to much not to little. just right… Customer service was good as well seeings as how this place was packed when we rolled in and continued to have foot traffic the entire time always a good sign… Only thing and this is of no fault of theirs but damn if that burrito didn’t sit in my tummy like a lead brick as the evening went on. I suspect it was the heaviness of the beans and ground beef and that deliciously deep fried goodness of a tortilla they rolled it all in… Not their fault but will eat just half of it next go round saving the other side for a meal later in the day so as not to feel the need to impale myself on a sharp bloat knife to relieve the over full feeling… Will be back with my new Groupon and or mail delivered coupons to give another dish a whirl…

CMONGUYS! I really really REALLY do not understand how this place received a 4.5 star rating. I went here with my roommate, and he held it with such high esteem, so I took his word for it. «Best Mexican place he’s ever been to». He left out the part that it was a fast food joint like Taco Bell with the addition of plate combos and a salad bar. We got the tacos and burritos combo and three words: greasy and expensive! The plus side, the tacos were above average, hard shelled; toasted; parmesan cheese covered; and it tasted pretty good. The«burritos»(exaggerated quotations) was covered in sauce and just filled with cheese and meat like a chimichanga or quesadilla. SERIOUSLY?! I consider myself a burrito connoisseur, and those were NOT burritos. Overall: the tacos were pretty good but not that good. I would rather get tacos from Taco Bell when those cravings hit. And the burrito… just no. If you want to get authentic Mexican food for an equal or cheaper price, go to a taqueria. I will not be coming here again.

Jimboy’s!!! Are you kidding me??! I think I have developed a much welcome addiction to this place! I am embarrassed to check in every time I visit due to how frequently I stand at that counter! Beef tacos. Standard. I get them every time!!! The chorizo breakfast burrito is also savory… do they put cinnamon in those breakfast tortillas? In all of their tortillas? I don’t know, but I am willing to find out!

It breaks my heart to no end that Jimboy’s is not in Portland. If I were living close to this place, I would die of eating too many tacos. My favorite taco is the shredded beef. Oh so good! Whenever I am in Sacramento, I always stop by and get a few tacos. Oh Jimboy’s… PLEASEOPENINPORTLANDOREGON!!!

The most ghetto Jimboys spot I’ve ever been too! But for their chicken enchilada. I’m willing to get all gangsta on somebody if I have to. Thug life! Mackramento!!! That’s what’s up! This place has NO drive-thru. If you’re on Arden Way heading towards Watt Ave. you will need to mae a U-turn to park your car and order from this joint. Expect to see all kinds of crazy people walking on the street. I’m pretty sure the people in there making an order had drug induced munchies. The enchilada is definitely 5 stars. Location gets a measly 2.5 stars. I thought I was going to eat it at home, but the enchilada didn’t make it out of the parking lot. Yes, I ate it in my car. The smell drove me crazy. I was just going to take a taste, but I tasted too much till it was gone :)
