The Inari Nigiri was very sweet and moist. The Sea Steak Nigiri was very tasty(I love seared anything). It actually looked very good too, and was expertly cut. The King’s Roll did not have very much taste at all. It was fresh, but bland, and barely had any of the shrimp inside, mostly just fried flakes. The server also looked terrible. Wearing a dirty shirt, and looked like he couldn’t even be bothered to brush his hair or shave.

I work close by so I stop in every few weeks. There service and ambiance is great and all the rolls I have tried have been good. There lunch specials are good, filling and reasonably priced. I live there bento boxes. Highly recommend I will definitely continue going!

The last time I had bad sushi THIS bad was at Mizu, at their sushi buffet. That was also the last time I ate sushi at any buffet. That was 6 years ago. Super bowl roll — For almost $ 14 I expect better ingredients. Nothing in this roll was fresh not even the rice. In fact, I’ve never had sushi rice that tastes that bad ever. the deep fried soft shell crab had more battery than crab and it too was cold. It might have been fried early in the morning and sat for hours. Salmon teriyaki bento box — The thinnest slice of salmon you will get. It probably weighed in at 1 – 2 ounces. THe tempura was cold and vegetables cut too thick. The waiter said its the same salmon hey use on their rolls, «sushi grade.» But folks, there’s no such thing as sushi grade. Go ahead Google that. The service was passable, as in, it could have been a LOT better. The Caucasian waiter I had was friendly and service was ok BUT the owner who just happened to be the sushi chef behind the counter who made my roll was well, pretty unfriendly and looked like he was a miserable type of person. Perhaps it’s because he has given up on a failing business as several other reviews said. I should have taken heed with 3.5 stars as I normally not go to any restaurant under 4 stars but I had a hankering for sushi in Natomas. Save your money and drive back to downtown instead. The OK service I got from my waiter kept this review from being one star as I couldn’t find anything else decent about the place. The bathroom doors were filthy, prices expensive, and food very stale.

Kobe was ok but when recently I went there and wow what horrible service! The miso soup was the only thing better then the service! The service was bad because there was this drunk server he served us then ran off to drink and goof off the guy could not careless for the customers! As long as he’s there, I’m not going back.

12 piece Sashimi, the oyster shooters, and miso are great! They have a happy hour too. I would just like to see the soft shell crab appetizer fried more like a tempura style rather than deep fried like chicken. They also have Japanese Beer Orion which is tough to find. Its a little pricey for the quality. I’d rather go to Fugu Lounge if I’m in Natomas.

I usually come here for the katsudon(pork or chicken cutlet, simmered with an egg, over rice). It’s authentic, just like I used to have it in Japan! If you sit at their bar, you get complimentary edamame… Score! Their sushi, fish, and other items are also very fresh and delicious. Their usual sushi chefs at the bar are great and know what they are doing. Although, their waiters need to be more attentive at times. Come here for some sushi rolls, sake, friendly service!

This is a no frills sushi! The bf and I hit up Kobe when we don’t want to deal wth driving downtown and finding parking. Staff is friendly. Sushi is good. Their sushi boats are a good deal. I forget the name of the one we get but for $ 39 you get 3 specialty rolls and 6 pieces of sashimi. Always hits the spot. Thank you Kobe for being dependable good sushi in Natomas!

I ordered the sesame chicken with California roll and tempura. Wife ordered Catalina roll. The sushi was real good. The sesame chicken was unedable. Chicken was hard like it was left out too long and was heated with a microwave or something. It was pretty gross. The coating on it was gelatinous and nasty. I hope I don’t get sick as I did manage to eat one piece. My wife and I threw away the other pieces. I would go there again but I would stay away from the chicken.

So i decided to come here on a whim. Parking was easy, and the location was not hard to find. Walked in, and instantly greeted by a cute chinese girl named Ming(she’s pretty, i’ll be back). The place seemed somewhat busy, but I got the attention that I needed. I ordered the King’s roll and Samurai roll, which to my surprise, was really delicious. The quality of the fish was fresh and the roll itself was way better than other sushi places I have eaten at. The atmosphere was nice and inviting and they do a really good job in keeping the place clean. They have a wide variety of rolls and non sushi items on the menu. Nothing was too pricey, everyone was friendly and the food was delicious. Will definitely be coming back to this place and I recommend everyone to go here if they want to have some real legit sushi.

This was our first time here. We read many of the reviews and were concerned about some of the negative comments but decided to decide for ourselves. We ordered a variety of rolls. The food was«just ok.» When you think of a sushi bar, at least the good ones, customer service, variety, freshness and most of all an interested sushi chef are what come to mind. This place had none of that. The one waiter was neutral, not friendly and not unfriendly. The one Sushi Chef seemed very not interested. It seems like he knows the place is failing and has given up. I’m not just trying to be negative or mean. The Chef seemed not interested and this really reflected in the food he created. The rolls were sloppy and very chintzy. Had three rolls at $ 14.95 which was a ridiculous price for what we received. We asked for two of the sauces on the side to see what we might like to mix in and they were both combined. One was too much garlic so you couldn’t taste the other. Overall, the place was empty at a time that it should be thriving. Very disappointed and would never consider returning.

Been here many times and decided to write a review so others can enjoy this hidden gem. Never been unsatisfied with the food or service. Best bargain is ordering the dinner special. You get sunomono, some tempera, some meat dish like tonkatsu, sesame chicken or teriyaki, and three rolls of sushi for under $ 40. The tempera is light and crispy, and the sushi rolls are unique and tasty. The katsudon is also delicious. A big bowl of rice with a meat & egg mixture with a sweet soy sauce. It is ordered every time we eat here. Give this place a try, you won’t be disappointed.

Tried it out bc I love supporting local Natomas business, & I love sushi! The sushi was good, maybe I just went in at an awkward time 3:30ish, bc there was no one in there, and the server?! Was sitting at a table on his phone. This was my first visit, so I kinda just waited for him to glance up at me finally, I awkwardly said, «just one person, do I grab a menu?» Answer: yes sit wherever…(Without getting up) Okay… I sat at the sushi bar, I was bummed on the lack of concern for a drink order, or appetizer or miso from behind the sushi bar, or the one employee who went back to his phone?! I finally ordered a Kirin & water, miso & received free edamame. Even tho I was by myself I decided to get two rolls to get the buy 1 get 1 half off deal, one I really enjoyed the other was a baked one & I did not enjoy it at all:(I tried… meh

Just… don’t go. Save your money. We came here with a group of friends to grab some dinner before the Kings game. I prefer raw fish over cooked rolls, so I ordered the chirashi — which is essentially raw fish over a bowl of rice — which was surprisingly only $ 16! I guess the price should have been the first warning to the terrible sushi experience I was about to have. I’ve never had a terrible chirashi bowl. Some are better than others, but in general I walk away pretty satisfied. But I suppose there really is a first time for everything. FIrst off, the selection of «fish» was terrible. Two sticks of imitation crab were included(who includes that???) and even the tamago was prepared horribly. The actual raw fish included all the usuals — salmon, hamachi, tuna, etc. — but they were so thinly sliced and tasted so old I had to basically force it down my throat. And the nastiest part? I don’t know what kind of fish it was, but it was so overwhelmingly fishy in the worst sense of the word. To top it all off — there was only one server for the entire restaurant! That night there were about 10 parties waiting to be served. Poor lady! I hope management schedules more servers so we can stop watching one person frantically trying to take orders, serve food, refill water and drinks, and process checks.

On top of being friendly upon entry, the sushi was cut generously, the miso soup was hot and everything was very fresh. I’m sure with a city full of sushi snobs and midtown sushi restaurants so close by, not many people have heard of Kobe. I feel comfortable enough to come alone, and excited enough to being a table full of people. For $ 18 I got 13 pieces of thickly sliced sashimi, edamame, miso soup, rice and a small salad. Who can beat that? Definitely recommended and frequented.
