You know… I love this place but as much as I love it there is an equal hate. It’s hit or miss on service. Sometimes I have gone and I’ve ordered a beer and some food for it to not show up after an hour and can’t find a waitress anywhere. Other times they’re right on it. I love the live music, I’m saddened by two facts. 1) they need to bring back the home made ginger beer. It made Moscow mules so good. 2) I love the poutine fries however I do not want to spend $ 9 bucks on a side to my meal. I wish they had the half order or made it where you can upgrade your meal fries to them. The poutine fries sent common to find around town and it’s something I enjoy there. Just not enough to make a $ 9 meal out of it. I think that about sums up how I feel. I strongly recommend going to kupros. Just if you get bad service go again on another day. It will make up for the first time. Trust me.

Hmmm I’m so torn about this place. On one hand, they have a cool balcony, great drink options, and an atmosphere I can see myself in frequently without getting burnt out. On the other hand they have mediocre food and some pretty rude staff. I’d for sure go again if friends wanted to, but I probably wouldn’t pick it myself.

I really love this place… it’s very hip, the food is pretty damn good. When you walk into the place it’s pretty spectacular if you’ve never been there before. The bar area is right there when you first enter. There is an upstairs area that’s fabulous for gatherings! Just make sure you call ahead to reserve it. I had the grilled Romano/chicken Cesar salad which was absolutely SCRUMPTIOUS! The wait staff is VERY attentive. I got great service. Ask for Justin, he’s awesome! I would definitely come back many times. It’s a great local, upscale hang out, Not a Dive!

April 24, 2016 This place could be cool… Dog friendly, but they actually stop serving brunch at 1:40 on Sunday’s not 2 as advertised which is whatever, but then they don’t start serving lunch till 2:30, kinda changed our plans, also the Moscow mules are to much on the lime side. I prefer mine more on the ginger side. Would go back but gotta plan it around their schedule. May 28, 2016 So we went back to try the brunch, while the service was great again, I must say I feel like we might’ve wasted a trip. I do not believe we will ever be returning unless friends are going, then I would only order drinks. While the chicken and waffles that I ordered were good my girlfriend ordered the chilaquiles, it is basically a bowl of chips with tomato paste and black beans on it. Served with out cheese as stated on the menu. If they are making this«salsa» in house they should save their customer and buy a commercial salsa. We hoped the chicken fried steak might save the meal and it was unimpressive. Chicken fried steak should be tenderized and this was tough and the potatoes were covered with tomato paste again, which basically made it this red watery potato mush. I will say that the table next to us ordered sandwiches which looked more appetizing. If you’re forced to eat here I would suggest one of those. Basically not suggested for a foodie, more of a hung over frat boy who hasn’t acquired adult taste in food yet. After debating to mention it or not, we raised the concerns with the server about the chilaquiles not being as described and not even eating a bite(please see photo of how it was left) no accommodation was made on the bill. All and all I think your money and time is better spent just about anywhere else. I am surprised because we tried it before we Unilocaled it, so I could judge it impartially. I notice some similarities in other people’s reviews and it appears no adjustments have been made.

Nothing says brunch like mimosas! Be sure to order the bottomless mimosas as you look through the menu. Location is super cute. There’s an upstairs and downstairs so keep that in mind and bring it up to your waiter/waitress in case someone in your party has difficulties with stairs. If everyone can make it up the stairs try to eat on the balcony! Very cute, secluded, and you get a little view of downtown. Portions here are HUGE! A ½ portion is more than enough for one person. Food is good. I basically ordered chocolate cake that came with a piece of grilled melon called Baked Chocolate. Great choice. Chicken and waffles was also a great choice. Chicken was tender and the crunch was perfect. I was really excited for the kalua pork hash but unfortunately wasn’t that great to me. Potatoes were kind of dry and didn’t taste all that fresh to me. Flavors just seemed a bit off. The midtown burrito looks decent as well but not something I would normally order because of the price. I still like my classic breakfast burritos. Worth coming here to try but more than likely would not return unless friends and family wanted to try it. Food is decent but not for the price.

Great outdoor seating. Place was busy. Tried a Thyme cocktail, was refreshingly yummy. Garlic fries are so so, need something to really make them pop. Charred caesar was good. Bonus: guitar player on the lower porch while I was there… Perfect Sunday afternoon. Great place to chill. Service was quite slow, but it didn’t bother me.

We stopped by Kupros with the intent of just grabbing a quick drink before heading to our next destination. That building is two stories and has an upstairs deck. There are two bars, however the bar upstairs truly is a secondary one and is not fully stocked. If you want more options, stick to the downstairs one. My friends are in love with the Scooby Snacks here so that is the main reason we stopped by this place. I ended up getting a cran and vodka. My friend got the drinks so I’m not sure what the price point here is, but for the amount of alcohol that was in it, it was worth it. But, let’s get to the real star of the show here. Those bacon cheese fries tho(IDK if that’s even the real name, but that’s what I’m calling them). We had stopped by here after literally just completing a three course meal but the smell of the fries was so enticing we just had to order them. They come out in these little cast iron skillets and are topped with cheese, thousand island, and bacon. OH. MY. YES. They were sooooo freaking good. The cheese was perfectly melted. The bacon was just the right amount of crispy. The thousand island just brought everything together. I could’ve eaten five plates. The experience I had with those fries definitely make me want to come back and try more of their food.

Food was great as usual but service at the bar left a lot to be desired. It took a long time to get our food and we had to ask if our appetizers were coming when our meals arrived and we ended up canceling one because he did not know when it would be up. To top it off our drinks were empty and we weren’t asked if we wanted something else. It was a bit busy but I l left wondering what is happening to one of my favorite local places.

What can I say? I’m totally enjoyed for this Midtown location of this gastropub hit! «Kupros Crafthouse» brings the customers to experience like if you’re living in a college dorm nor your friend’s casual house, and serving their delicious foods and drinks that everyone will be appreciated! As I entered for the first time on 4÷23÷2016 after seeing the Republic FC game on that particular night, me, Jenny P and David O were heading there, and the atmosphere is quite sensational and energetic as I welcomed there. The concept as I said earlier is like much you’re living in a house by adding a bar and live music inside to make it like a house party all over again. The service has done a good job for making the customers like a fine service despite the busiest Saturday night environment. No issues here for me. After I ordered my favorite local beer New Helvetia Beer, we ordered the customer’s favorite appetizer, fried pickles. As I ate it, it tasted not bad! I can feel the battered fried flavors mixing with the sourly, bitter taste of dilled pickles. What a great snackie treat. I haven’t ordered their entrees, so I’ll might be back next time to try it again. Parking at Kupros can be difficult to park. You can park at the nearest surface street parking if it’s available. Otherwise, you can also ride a bike, walk, or use public transportation easier without the hassles. In the end, Kupros Crafthouse is the coolest local gastropub that I’ve ever visited right through my bucket list! A well, worthy visit for social, fun hangouts! My rating: 4 solid stars.

Great local place. They have a great selection of snacks. There are always plenty of seats inside and out(nice upstairs patio). Once a week they also have a game night where local gamers come and play and invite others. I look forward to joining them one day. Service is ok. It depends on the say and the location of where you sit. I’ll be back.

Kupros is a great casual place to grab a drink. It’s one of the better places to do so on summer nights when you can sit outside on the patio or out at the balcony upstairs. The inside of the bar has a beautiful stained glass ceiling that adds an interesting contrast to this largely alternative crowd. The beer menu is pretty decent. The wine menu could use some work. The menu has really improved recently but its still mostly bar food. I recently had my first Kupros brunch experience. It was great because it is one of the less crowded places to grab brunch on Sunday. It didn’t blow my mind but the food was what I expected and we were seated immediately. Usually on Fridays or weekends they have a band playing which can make for a fun place to drop by. All in all, this is one of my go-to places in Midtown for a casual atmosphere with well-priced eats and drinks.

I’ve heard of Kupros for some time now, but finally made it to eat there. I’m glad I did. My first experience was during the 2016 St. Patrick’s Day pub crawl. Outside was rainy and cold. Inside was hot and steamy. Overly crowded and nuts, but I had a blast. The beer selection was off the chart. They ran out of Guiness(understandable considering how many people did the pub crawl). But they made up for it tenfold with Track 7 Brewery’s Nuckin Futz. A delicious chocolate peanut butter porter. Oh, it was dessert in a bottle. Back to the bar. I love the interior, it’s built in one of Sacramento’s victorian age homes. It’s cozy, stylish. But warm and inviting. It has a slightly run down vibe. Like a well worn pair of shoes. Comfortable and classic. My second experience was mid afternoon on a beautiful sunny Saturday. I ordered the kalua pulled pork bahn mi and a soda(had to be a good girl). My sandwich came quickly as I sat outside and marveled in a perfect spring day. They’re not skimpy with the meat. It’s packed! The textures and flavors were this combination of incredibly tender pork, a perfectly crunchy baguette, pickled carrot and daikon, and crispy jalapenos. I could have done with some more sour sauce/pickling to counter the sweet pork, but it was still really good. I enjoyed their version of the classic Viet sandwich. The house made chips were great and crispy. There wasn’t a crumb left! I’d go 5 stars, but I can’t get with the people still smoking on the porch. It’s a bar I get it and as a former smoker I would have loved that. But the chick sucking down her Marlboro right next to me on a mostly empty patio, kinda ruined it a bit. I like smoked meats, not my meat with a side of second hand smoke. Still looking forward to coming back and trying more. Maybe inside this time!

I have heard from a reliable source that Bar Rescue was coming to Sacramento. I suggest this location for rescue because of the terrible service I and numerous others have received. The last time I was there my girlfriend arrived before me and received excellent service, then I arrived. The bartender immediately became surly and rude. My drink order was scoffed then made. We ordered food and the bartender never asked how it was and my drink became empty and was ignored for over ten minutes before I had to ask loudly for another. After this hipster dufus made my drink he then coughed loudly in our direction without covering his mouth. Wow, needless to say we immediately stopped eating and asked for our check. I will never go back there again. Terrible service, overpriced drinks and mediocre food. Thumbs down and cover your mouth guy!

Chicken wings was dry(with buffalo sauce) and ranch dressing wasn’t a ranch it was a blue cheese dressing. Anyway, later she did brought some ranch dressing by the time we almost finished eating our meal. My bf wanted refill on his beer and of course it took her forever to bring it so this time we asked why it’s taking long for our drinks and her answer was«Didn’t u see the beer bike stopped by?» What does it suppose to mean? She has to serve them and that’s why our drink took forever to be served for us? As soon she said that I was done. I told myself I’m never coming back here. One star was for their choice of beers. So many memories at Kupros! My friends and I used to call it «Cheers». I haven’t had much of their food but I’ve heard good things. Over the last couple years it seems it’s gotten busier and busier which often happens with good places as more and more people discover it. Every bartender I’ve come in contact with has been friendly, personable and quick to recommend a good drink when I’ve asked.

Fantastic beer options, friendly and knowledgeable staff, decent to good food. I would go again just for the drinks, it had a great variety of local options on tap and bottled. The bartender happily informed us of the happy hour deals, reminded us before it ended so we could add another order if we wanted, and gave us detailed suggestions and offered to let us try a couple tap beers. The food was absolutely acceptable, and of a generous portion, but it didn’t blow me away. They had a nice variety of sandwich options but could do with more finger food for those there mostly for the bar scene.

The old house setting is cool. Loves the beautiful old wood inside and out. Didn’t love that I was ignored by waitstaff even after other groups had come in. I finally asked for a menu. So, frankly, servicd was pretty mediocre. i ordered the brushetta appetizer. It was small, but delicious. My reuban was pretty juicy and delicious. Iiked it was served on sourdough. I did not dig the giant onions in the side salad. The band was just setting up. Bummed we missed that. Overall, fun and pretty but service was an issue. Oh, and only one dessert choice? Really?

I went to Kupros for the first time on a Wednesday night for drinks around 6:30 p.m. I have been wanting to check this place out, so was excited to have the opportunity to do so. Metered street parking is free after 6 p.m. and I didn’t have an issue finding an open spot nearby. When I first walked in, I noticed that there is a bar right in the middle with booth seating on the sides. We decided to sit at a booth and get table service. Our waitress was very sweet, but was brand new and still getting familiar with the menu. It obviously takes time to memorize these things, so it wasn’t really an issue. It looked like they had several different kinds of craft beer on-tap, but I really wanted a Triple IPA from Knee Deep Brewing Co., so ordered a 22oz bottle of Simtra Triple IPA for $ 11. This beer is great if you want to get your buzz on because it’s 11.25% ABV! I didn’t end up ordering any food, but the food menu did look appetizing and offered vegetarian options including a house made veggie burger. I’m definitely interested in coming back here and am especially curious to try the brunch.

I have been to Kupros several times and finally have a chance to review this cool gastropub in midtown Sacramento. Kupros is a converted Craftsman-style house with a large bar on the main floor — one up from the street — and a unique dining area on the second floor with tables in the original bedrooms. Everything has been restored and looks great. The restaurant is hidden in plain sight on 21st between L and Capitol. I really appreciate the food here. They have an eclectic menu with lots of fun items including fried pickles and poutine. Kupros is a great place for some drinks with food or a cool dinner date. They also have a great bar that makes real drinks and has great beers on tap. Plus, the place is gorgeous with lots of stained glass, polished wood, and other little decorations that make this unique and cozy. The outdoor patios help make Kupros even better. Everyone enjoys coming here. The prices are a bit higher than most places, but you are getting your money’s worth here.

As soon and the rest of this corner is developed this will be one of the best places to eat in Sacramento. Recently had the«It’s just chicken» with a side salad and the Bar Bite nachos. Also had the bahn mi. Friggin delicious consistently a great food place.

I love old Victorian houses that are turned into restaurants! Gives a nostalgic/old school feel when you drive up/walk into the restaurant! The restaurant itself is awesome! They have beautiful stained glass through out the restaurant & have an amazing, large bar(downstairs) w/gorgeous stained glass lining the ceiling of the bar! Oh yeah… & one of the cleanest bathrooms, in a restaurant that I’ve walked into in a long time!!! We were greeted by the bartender & told we could sit wherever we wanted. The waitress came to us within minutes to take our drink orders. I ordered the McKinley Rose which reminded me of lemonade w/a bourbon kick at the end of each sip. I don’t care for lemonade, but the drink was refreshing & was a nice change to my usual vodka sodas! Hubby ordered the Yolo brewery Nutty brown which he LOVED! To start off we ordered the fried pickle spears which were AMAZING!!! The dill pickles give a nice saltiness & the dip they serve alongside it rounds it out perfectly! We also ordered buffalo wings w/blue cheese crumbles: the chicken wings were soooo good! They were almost like chicken legs & the blue cheese crumbles were creamy w/the perfect bite to it! Even the blue cheese dressing to dip had great blue cheese flavor(we LOVE blue cheese lol). For dinner I ordered the daily special, the oyster mushroom risotto(half order), great rich mushroom flavor that had deep fried oyster mushrooms & some type of sprouts on top. Tasted great & the half order was the perfect amount after both appetizers! My husband ordered the Kahlua pork banh mi. This was the only disappointment during dinner. The pulled pork & the sweet chili sauce didn’t go well at all! Alone the pulled pork was really great, but the sweet chile sauce threw it off. Seemed like the meat was meant more for a bbq pulled pork sandwich rather than a banh mi. We definitely wouldn’t ever order the banh mi again, but would definitely come back to try the other items on the menu! Our whole meal cost around $ 56.00 which wasn’t bad at all, considering all the food we ordered! Really friendly & attentive staff & pretty much an all around great experience at Kupros! We’ll be back!!!

While the food at Kupros is nothing special(unless you love fried everything), the lively pub atmosphere in an old craftsman house sort of warms my soul & makes me feel young again. It’s like a big house party that you can invite all your friends to. The patio overflows with revelers, beers in hand. The inside bar is bustling with sports fans, and the upstairs has many tucked away rooms where your posse can post up for a more intimate gathering. Cozy and loud at the same time. Food highlights were the chicken fried oyster mushrooms & the chorizo mac & cheese. They excel in the greasy food department. Salads, on the other hand, are not that awesome. The best part of my shrimp charred caesar was the shrimp. Props to the servers who worked fast, and patiently handled our rowdy group. Not an easy job, but they managed like pros.

If you’re into fried pub grub and stiff drinks, Kupros Crafthouse has got you covered. * Note: defibrillator not included. Came here with a thirsty, hungry group on a Saturday night. All other restaurants in town were booked because of the TBD Festival, but Kupros was able to take us in on short notice. We sat upstairs and pretty much took over one of their large rooms(which consisted of a few communal tables and a large screen TV). This place certainly isn’t fancy, nor is it pretending to be. In many ways, it’s the perfect college town bar & grill. It’s the place you go to catch the big game with friends(in our case, it was Old Miss vs. Alabama), grab a few pints, share a plate of fries or poutine, and waste the night away. As for the food, it’s fine — but it’s nothing really to write home about. Most of the menu consists of fried and fatty items — burgers, chicken wings, poutine, mac & cheese, fried pickles, etc. Our table ordered all of the above. Nothing really stood out. The chicken wings with buffalo sauce were decent. The poutine was kind of a chunky, gravy mess mixed with undercooked fries. The mac & cheese was certainly heavy on the cheese(my arteries are still clogged up). The one dish that really stood out, however, was the burger. That thing was HUGE. You would need the jaws of life to help fit that sandwich in your mouth. Drinks were decent. Don’t come expecting craft cocktails. I had the Old Fashioned and it was pretty basic. This is more of a beer joint. All in all, we had a fine time at Kupros, and we’re extremely grateful to them for taking us in on such short notice. I would def come back if I was in town and needed a fun place to watch sports over beer and a burger.

Kupros is one of my favorite bars in midtown. I love how the restaurant-bar was created from an old Victorian. It has a very warm feeling to it and it’s in a great location. The staff is really friendly and very on top of their game. The drinks are an appropriate level of strong and delicious. There are a bunch of beer on tap, so check out the giant list they have written on the wall. The food menu is one of the better ones in the area. For brunch, I recommend the chilaquiles and the kalua pork hash. Don’t forget your bloody mary or bottomless mimosa. For lunch or dinner, the Kupros Kobb or the It’s Chicken sandwich are excellent choices. Check out the upstairs area. There are plenty of sofas and comfortable chairs and there’s also a really sweet balcony. Go there.

This is a nice cozy place to get some delicious food and some great cocktails and beer. There is a decent selection of both wine and beer. I had the southside sangria which was really refreshing and good and though I am not much of a fruity cocktail fan, I would order it again. The McKinley Rose was good too but not strong enough for me lol. We started of with the Kaprese salad which was so good and had juicy heirloom tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, greens and herbs. Also the grilled cheeses sando on rosemary focaccia was super delish as well. Our server was very friendly and so was our bartender who served the drinks directly to us on the upper floor where we had a nice street view from the top. The place is divided into several mini rooms and different styles of seating. Of course sipping cocktails on the upper patio balcony is the best.

I love the chicken and waffles from their brunch menu, full of flavor chicken breast without skin on and the breading for the chicken also have a tons of flavor. Came here for brunch and the service was good. The host and server were both very nice. We order the chicken and waffles, chocolate French toast, biscuit and gravy and a chips dish. I had the blackberry sangria cider which was delicious. The chicken and waffle was disappointed. The chicken was a good portion and moist. But the wasn’t crispy for fried chicken and was bland. The wattle was pretty good. The biscuit was overwhelmed with gravy so made the biscuit too salty. The chocolate French toast was tasty. The chips dish was soggy And the tomato sauce it was tossed it. Lack other flavor profile as well. Overall, probably won’t be back for brunch but will come here for drinks.

I am in LOVE with this place!!! You have to walk up a few steps to enter this place, but once you walk in you are greeted with a full bar! =) There is plenty of seating to choose from upstairs. They have several beer options. I chose a Hef that came from a brewery that’s been in operation over 100 years(according to the server). There are a lot of yummy food options. The grilled cheese stuck out to me, but I couldn’t fathom why a grilled cheese would cost almost $ 10! After they brought out the food… I found out why — IT’S HUGE!!! The grilled cheese came on foccacia bread with a multitude of different cheeses. Of course I had to get a side of tomato soup! The meal was heavenly! The staff was so incredibly friendly and the vibe was just cool. I’ll definitely come back!

I placed an order for a $ 25 Sweetdeal from Kupros with a bit of trepidation. I last visited the stylish restaurant a couple of years ago and remembered being impressed with all the stained glass, but not much else. My how things have changed! Our recent Sunday brunch experience makes Kupros worthy of a spot in the regular restaurant rotation. I love finding places that do half orders of menu items. Getting a chance to experiment with as many different options as possible lets me find a favorite without breaking the bank or busting a gut. As an added bonus, the half orders here constitute what would be a full order at most places. Everything we tried was a half order with the exception of the Benedict. Surprisingly, that Benedict would be our least favorite item. That’s not to say it was bad. This was the first Bene I’ve had on a croissant, what a novel idea! It added a buttery richness to the dish which was nicely balanced by the spinach that they put beneath the expertly poached egg. You can add meat for a nominal charge and we did choose to add ham. This where the disappointment came in. The three paper-thin slices they put on the plate were grilled to the jerky stage. We had so much food that the accompanying home fries didn’t get touched much, but I did notice they were crispy and seasoned well. The biscuit and gravy half order made us wish we’d gone for the full monty. Easily our favorite item, it had us fighting for the last savory bite. The gravy was some of the best I’ve tried. I liked that they sprinkle green onions across the top, really giving it that extra oomph. Probably the prettiest item on the table, the chocolate French toast was definitely not your usual boring slices of sandwich bread. Not overly sweet, it was almost more like a chocolate bread pudding. I loved that they throw in a thick slice of delicious grilled cantaloupe, too. The most unusual item we ordered was the kalua(their spelling) pork hash. Crispy fries are layered beneath a pile of smoky pulled pork that’s topped with a sunny egg. Also in the mix are julienned pickled banh mi vegetables and salsa verde. It sounds like a crazy mix of ingredients, but it works beautifully together. It’s worth the effort to try and get a little taste of each element in your forkful. What amazed me most was how crisp the fries stayed after being at the bottom of the pile for a while. I noticed that they offer brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 10 – 2:30. For imbibers, there are bottomless mimosas for $ 12 and bloody marys for $ 5. Our friendly server Emily deserves a shout for staying on top of the coffee refills and being patient with these people trying to make a buffet out of the brunch menu. She also helped to completely revamp my attitude about this fun spot.
