I got a vegi breakfast burrito. It was the worst burrito i have ever had. No salt what so ever and had liquid in it. Im not sure what the liquid was but it made stomach hurt. I was excites to see that they added a bag of chips to my order, but the chips were stale. I think taco bell would have been an improvement

Never again. Food was good but nothing I’ve never had before. The waitress was so rude every time we thanked her she completely ignored us! Then they start mopping right by our table the smell was so strong and who wants to smell chemicals while they’re eating? We couldn’t even stand to be there anymore so we just left.

I’ve been coming to this place for 5+ years and I’ve ordered their chicken burrito with guacamole and sour cream every time. I would highly recommend their burritos, it’s super duper good! Very flavorful and juicy! :) They offer a self serve unlimited chips & salsa bar for free which is convenient because you don’t have to waive down the waiter for refill on chips. You’ll definitely have to come and give this place a try, it will be worth the visit!

Place changed ownership and is now called Pancho Villa Restaraunt. The tacos of carne asada are good… But that is the extent of what you want to get. Horchata and the salsa’s have weird tastes to them. I’d try another place if I were you.

Not a good experience at all. I ordered a breakfast burrito w/eggs, ham, potatoes, cheese, and pico de gallo. I specifically asked for no beans and rice. When my food came, wouldn’t you know, it had rice and beans. I sent the burrito back. When my new burrito came back it was twice as small, had hardly any ham on it, and might as well just have been a rolled up tortilla. I usually go to Carolinas on Franklin blvd. I went to La Favorita because it was closer. I won’t make the same mistake again.

I had nothing to eat in the house last night, and I had to find an excuse to escape the howling of a cat recovering from having an abcess drained(appetizing, eh?), and tacos sounded good… Fortunately, La Favorita is about 3 minutes from my house, and since it was after 8:00, the place was fairly quiet. I ordered 3 tacos(under $ 2 each), one carne asada, one carnitas and one al pastor. I also grabbed some chips and guacamole(from the salsa bar — no extra charge) and a couple of salsas. Took it all home and opened up the package and wow — tons of tasty meat, onions and cilantro! All three tacos were very tasty, but my favorite was the al pastor. The chips were just OK, but the guacamole was nice and a good accompaniment to all. For just a few bucks, I had a really delicious dinner served up by really nice folks — highly recommended!

This is a regular stop for me and my friends! Who can complain about the $ 3 taco that is an entire meal, the huge salsa bar, or the lightning fast service? Everyone that tries this place is hooked!

I eat here at least once a week. Super burrito with some chips. I did recently switch from the chicken to the steak and I prefer steak. The people are nice and th eprice is very reasonable. I do wish the salsa selection would be kicked up a notch. See you guys soon.

Good food, good prices! Try the adobada! It’s yummy and not too spicy or fatty!

I like La Favorita Taqueria! This place is great because you get unlimited chips and their salsa is awesome! I only eat the regular carne asada tacos here, anythiing other than that is not that tasty. The food comes out in a blink of an eye. Stars: 3.5

NOLONGERFAVORITA, Its name is now Poncho villa Taqeria. Hoping for a good burrito since favorita seems to be skimping on the meat lately and behold — super burrito with rice, beans and hardly any meat. What’s up with that? $ 7 with hardly any meat?! Come on. I’ll start taking my money elsewhere for lunch.

I decided to go there for lunch with some folks from work. Had the lunch special for 7.42 with the carnitas and included a drink. Try the horchata, it’s good and it tones down the heat it you like spicy food. The plate came with 4 tortillas(I chose flour), rice and beans. I felt like it needed guacamole so I simply went back and asked for some. They happily gave me a little container without any weird looks!(Tip! Just ask after you get your order) I didn’t see any rudeness by the lady taking my order either, just a nice smile. The amount of food was large. I was stuffed. I really like the salsa and chips bar. Four kinds of salsa available. All in all a good lunch. It’s a clean place, but I haven’t been there for dinner in that area of town. Definitely OK for lunch though with reasonable prices and not typical Americanized Mexican food like other chain restaurants.

We went here for the first time today. I had been meaning to find a good taqueria near my boyfriend’s house, especially after an incident with a cockroach at another local taqueria, We spotted La Favorita while we were across the street at Thrift Town. I stuffed myself with their huge veggie burrito and their salsa bar. The boy got a carnitas chimichanga. They were delicious! Their horcata was also very yummy. I’m very particular about Mexican food because I grew up outside of LA… This place is not the best I’ve ever had but definitely one of the best in Sacramento.

K so here is the 411 on this place. First of all, if anyones idea of authentic Mexican is a Dos Coyotes or a Chevy’s, this isn’t the place for you. They probably wouldn’t know the real deal even if it bit em in the arse. This is the real dealio, not in the best of neighborhoods, in fact, it’s located in the Kmart shopping center. Keep in mind, you will see druggies, homeless people and I’d probably hold your purse tight, if you’re gonna patronize this place in the evening. It’s clean, the food is GOOD and the price is reasonable… although, they charged me a buck seventy five for water… I wasn’t to hip on that idea. Def a place you should give a gander.

This used to be my go-to for a quick burrito. I hadn’t been in a while, so I dropped by the other day, looking forward to reuniting with an old favorite. I was saddened by the state that I found the place in, and was tempted to give it 2 stars. The food is still pretty good, but the prices have been jacked up. $ 9.40 for a combo plate? What is this, some kind of classy joint? Don’t think there’s a burrito below $ 5 either. Not cool. Then there’s the salsa bar. I certainly appreciate the salsa bar option, but they used to have this green stuff… sort of a liquidy guac that’s spicy(I’m sure there’s a name for it, but I’ve got no clue)… and it was awesome. I would douse it on everything. Now it is gone. And I am sad. This isn’t the place I remembered. More expensive and not as good… Think I’ll go somewhere else next time.

Best Mexican food in Sac, period. I love their real nachos. Ever have real nachos? NOT the kind with that generic Velveeta crap melted on top. Nachos with real cheese! And guacamole, salsa, beans, and yummy meat. I love them, and I’m addicted. The burritos are great too, nicely sized. The enchiladas are excellent as well. My only complaint is that the guacamole is kind of bland. Oh, and the fact that my daughter always takes a bag of free chips when we leave. That’s embarrassing! But it’s not La Favorita’s fault, so they still get 5 stars.

My boyfriend, a life long resident of Sacramento, insists that this is the best taqueria in the area! It is our go to place for big, cheap burritos and a great salsa/guac bar. The staff is always friendly, and the atmosphere is actually nice, roomy and relaxing for the area(aka, this is not good place to go on a first date if you want to impress someone!) Writing this made me hungry — I’m going to La Favorita RIGHTNOW.

This is going to be short but sweet… I ate here the other night with the family. after nagging my dad that i was hungry he finally caved in and took me to my ultimate craving. Mexican food… I ate two soft carnitas with rice and beans. smothered in lime juice and their homemade red salsa! ohh yummm! It was great! one star for fast food done right one star for feeding me exactly what i wanted. one star for good flavor… negative on star for bad location where you done know what creep is around the corner, negative one star for girl who was all pissy cause we didnt all know what we wanted to order right away… but.I will be back.

It’s hard to believe that no one has reviewed this before. This is one of the best, cheapest, most authentic taquerias in all of Sacramento. Yes, there might be little drawbacks, like the fact that you have to place your order in Spanish or that it’s located in a KMart parking lot, but whatever. The food is quality, it’s lightening speed, and there’s lots of it. I used to skip 4th period to come here for lunch when I was in high school. Great memories, fantastic carnitas, but in a sketchy area with a less than helpful staff.
