See my picture of my very sad French dip. Literally one thin slice of roast beef. Even the bread is flat. I can’t even believe it was served with a straight face. I remember when this place used to be good. There is a BJs next door and it’s always WAY more crowded. Now I know why.

BEWARE: The absolute worst«french food» I’ve ever had, and contender for one of the worst restaurants of my LIFE. I came here years ago when their menu was different and it was only okay, but today was the WORST dining experience I’ve had in probably a decade. Cons: First, the menu is filled with faux french food. Spinach Artichoke dip? Six different burgers? A whole section of «American Comforts»(separate from their burgers) as big as their«French» section??? Second, the atmosphere is nothing but morbidly obese elderly Caucasians, which is fine. I honestly don’t care WHO goes here, but it is an indicator of the health concerns of the food(hypertension and sodium watchers beware!). The walls are plastered in fake french posters and chalkboards with frilly loopty-loop writing, almost all in english, with tacky sample desserts greeting you at the door, that look absolutely disgusting. The waiter was also extremely slow, especially for a restaurant that was only ¼ full(I wonder why), held our glasses incorrectly(his fingers grasping the rim of the glass, gross) and nearly SPILLED the French Onion soup in my lap when he decided to wave to someone leaving. Third, the French Onion Soup. I have had their french onion soup before and it was alright, not bad at all, I was looking forward to it. This time it was THICK(meaning it had been sitting there since morning, or even over a day) and had what tasted like a pound of salt. My tongue hurt from eating half of it! The cheese was also disgusting, I have no clue what kind of cheese they used this time but it was flavorless and had the consistency of cheap melted mozzarella. Also the baguette they used in the soup was so soggy, had NO crunch at all which indicates that the cup of soup had been made before we even got there Then I had my entrée, the Grilled Salmon with Frites. Absolutely disgusting. The fish was tough and old and dry and looked like it had been cooked at lunch and repurposed for my dinner. It also had melted garlic butter on it, already melted and slid off to the side, and re-hardened already(meaning the food was ready for a WHILE before I got it). The salmon also had soooo much salt. I have NEVER heard of salmon with salt, especially not the amount that they use it in! The skin was tough and the meat beneath it was dry, absolutely no juices trapped or anything. The fries that, for some strange reason, they brag about were HORRID. Just tiny little slivers of old limp potato that honestly would lose in a taste test with McDonalds or Carls Jr or Wendys. I have NOCLUE why they have a whole paragraph bragging about the russet potatoes they use(they werent russet potatoes by the way) when those were awful. They also had sauteed garlic spinach which was honestly the best part of the entrée because it was flavorless and I could finally not taste the massive amounts of salt. Finally, I could not stand a single second more and my arms and legs were swollen from the salt mine they had put inside me. I had to step outside to get a breather and vomited all over the concrete, ruining my shoes and jeans. I was FURIOUS. I almost ran back in to get into a shouting match with the manager so I could let all of his customers know what had happened but I did not want to embarrass the people I had came with. Also the manager would have probably just offered me a coupon or free dessert, but I will NEVEREVEREVER come back here. I would much rather get food poisoning at a street vendor, because then I would at least enjoy the food before it comes flying out of me. Please, if you enjoy your taste buds and your health BOYCOTTTHISPLACE. The entire back staff should be fired for serving not one, but two oversalted disgusting plates to me, the sous chef, the line chef, the pantry chef, and the head chef should all be let go and replaced with people that actually care about the food they make. HORRIBLE. I wish I could give this 0 stars. Pros: Their bread basket had some sort of carrot/raisin bread which tasted great actually, but seemed to be more of a dessert thing. The other stale white bread they brought out tasted like an Olive Garden breadstick, but worse.

This Mimis location always has consistent great service and good homecooked food. The server, I think his name was Travis was excellent and had a great personality. They always have specials like the buy one get one free entres if you sign up for their rewards. They are located right next to bjs. They have a quieter and more friendly atmosphere. We ordered the french pot roast and the chicken tillamook cheddar Mac. The server recommended them both and he was right. They were both awesome. They are around $ 12 each and definitely worth a try. The pot roast was shredded and fell apart in your mouth and it was on top of mashed potatoes. The Mac was so cheesy and had an awesome crust on top. We also got the banana pudding complimentary for my birthday. It was ok, but hey can’t complain. We will be back!

Came here from the airport last night after spending some time in Honolulu… wanted to go to BJ’s but it was so crowded for some reason and found out that Kevin Hart was performing at the Sleep Train Arena. Anyways, we decided to roll to Mimi’s and we haven’t been there in a long time… and was hoping it would be good. We got seated quickly and was greeted by JC… he was a cool dude, very friendly, welcoming, and naturally a nice guy. We were about to order and when it was my turn, I wanted to order the chicken Parmesan… BUTJC informed me that they ran out!!! AHMAN… so i ended up ordering a mushroom burger with fries… then JC informed me they ran out of fries… AHMAN… WTF??? who runs out of fries? I can understand the chicken Parm but FRIES??? Come on MAN… It was not JC’s fault at all, he was real cool and apologized for the inconvenience. So instead of fries, I had fried onion strips… good but not as good as fries. When the food came out we all were a little disappointed with the presentation… My burger didn’t look to appetizing… and it was too rare so I had to send it back for another one. But JC was cool and very professional… got me another Burger quickly and even threw in some extra mushrooms on a separate plate. The mac and cheese my little cousin ordered looked alright but she wasn’t too crazy about it. My boy ordered the lunar dip and he said it was good but did not BLOW him away… my lady ordered the Pot Roast and it was so sloppy when it came out… and very salty. The food was just mediocre at best. but JC was a very good employee who seemed to care about his costumers… it was late and we feel the kitchen lacked effort… Would we come back… not anytime soon… BUT props to JC!

This can wait until later… my review that is. But I will say this my waiter is really handsome. If my battery does not die before he returns I may sneak a photo of him.

Good bartender bad kitchen. Berry mimosa was great. Quiche Lorraine was over cooked. I literally could pick up the whole quiche by one edge of the crust. Mixed fruit was a layer of oranges over a pile of grapes. My friend who does not care for eggs ordered a crêpe which does not say it has eggs in it on the menu. But does in fact always have eggs in it. She could not eat her food. BUT. Awesome wait staff. Took the food off of the order and did offer to provide us with different items.

Not a whole lot to say here… this was my first time going to any Mimi’s Café. My mom wanted to meet here for Sunday brunch because it was half way point for the two of us. When we arrived, a little bit of a wait. But for all the people waiting, we were seated fairly quickly. Our server was incredibly friendly and frequently checked on our needs. Very good service. My mom and I both ordered the bacon avocado omelet. Comes with potatoes and we both got muffins instead of toast. The food came out hot! Smelled delicious and the presentation was very nice. And oh yeah, the muffin came out before the omelet and it was pretty darn good. Would have been nice if the muffin had came out warm. But oh well, it was still really good. And for an omelette, was pretty tasty. We both ordered mimosas and they have different flavors, so that was nice too. I guess long story short, I will definitely go to Mimi’s again in the future. And hopefully, at any Mimi’s, I will receive the same awesome service and good food.

I went to mimi’s for the first time today. It was great! We sat outside on the patio area. It was the perfect place for lunch. I ordered grilled chicken with fritas. My husband ordered a salad. Can’t recall the name(w/chicken, olives, red peppers, feta cheese etc). We had the artichokes for an appetizer. The food was excellent. The service was fast. And our waitress even gave us free muffins to take home! :-) I loved this place. Can’t wait to go back!

So, first off it’s Mimi’s… its a café, and old people love cafes and mimi’s so be prepared. haha! We were going to BJ’s next door but the wait was an hour plus so we wondered into Mimi’s. sat us right away… but here’s the deal… Server was AWESOME, food was FANTASTIC, and they have awesome happy hour and drink specials… our beers were $ 2 and since we were going to the arena and gonna be paying $ 125.34 for a beer we were excited they had such great prices. Either way, we had fun, the staff was fun, the food was great and we loved it! I only left off the 5th star cause it is what it is and yes you can’t be rowdy crazy people in a Mimi’s like we wanted to…

Gotta admit the food wasn’t as good as it used to be. The service has always been good and still is. I came for dinner and the menu wasn’t that impressive. I do love their breakfast selection an all the fresh baked muffins and croissants.

I haven’t been to a Mimi’s in over a year… so I was overjoyed to hear that they serve breakfast on the weekends until 3PM… YAY! A few weeks back, I enjoyed breakfast for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. I ordered chicken n waffles. I liked the chicken; the chicken was a breast cutlet fried with a panko type crust… it’s a bit of a different take on chicken n waffles. The cutlets were moist and crispy; however it could have used some more seasoning to add some distinct flavor. The waffle was Belgian style and not memorable… but not awful either. The coffee was darn tasty which was a pleasant surprise, it was bold and smooth. My food came out quickly and the waitress was so sweet and efficient. My coffee was refilled and the complimentary bread basket came out timely. My other menu favorite is the French onion soup. Plus I enjoy the complimentary bread basket with the variety of breads.

To start, I’m only giving 3 stars mainly because the service wasn’t all that great. However, the food was awesome! Our waitress was sweet, but now a days nobody likes waiting super long just to get their food order taken. We actually had to call someone over to take our food order and then when we were ready to leave we has to call a separate person over to ask for our bill and charge us out. Our«actual» server literally served us our drinks and that was it. I can’t actually recall if she even checked on us to make sure we were doing ok? In regards to the food and drinks. Our food did come out in a timely manner, so that was a big plus. I started off with a white peach mimosa, and let me tell you it was amazing. For breakfast I had the Strawberries & Crème Waffles… Let’s just say to die for. Yum, yum, yummy! 5 stars for sure on the food I would definitely still come to Mimi’s for breakfast, just hope the service is a bit better next time.

I was reluctant to come to dinner at Mimi’s but the hubs really wanted to use the coupon that was mailed to us before it expired. It was a «one free entrée» coupon with a picture of steak and fries. The hubs REALLY wanted to have what was pictured on the coupon! My first impression of the place was not a good one. I even left a mean Unilocal check-in because there was no hostess up front to seat us right away. Service was slow at first, but after we were seated things turned around… in a good way! The crowd was 40 and above and I think the people dining here are on to something! Quieter environment than BJ’s, which is located next door, better quality food, and at the fraction of the price! The food is what made a horrible start turn into something wonderful. We ordered: 1. The Bouilabaisse($ 13.99): A stew of mussels, shrimp and scallops simmered in white wine and topped with garlic crostini. It was exactly what I wanted and it was delicious! More flavor than freaking Asian N’ Cajun! 2. Steak and Frites($ 17.99): The hubs of course got what he came for: the 10oz 28 day aged New York Steak. They even cooked it the way he liked: medium rare. It wasn’t as juicy as he liked but it was because the steak was a leaner cut than the rib eye he usually prefers. Surprised that they even cooked it well. I thought for sure that they’d over cook it. 3. Crème Brulee Cheesecake($ 6.99): It was silky, smooth, and melt in your mouth. Best part was that it had a graham cracker crust! The food really surprised me. Maybe it was because I had such low expectations? Whatever it was, the food really sold me! I’d love to come back… even without a coupon! LOL

Great customer service, great food. Have never had a bad experience here! Had the salmon with asparagus and spinach last night. Love the french onion soup. But if you’re a breakfast person, definitely check this place out! Thanks J.C. for the wonderful service last night!

I love their muffins! I had the petite salad and soup combo which came with the carrot raisin muffin. Not way too sweet like other muffins I have had, and the muffins are served warm with a crispy top. definitely a must try if you come here. They have a number of muffin flavors, and my friends enjoyed their blueberry muffin a lot. The red white and blue salad was good, while the French onion soup was a bit too salty and thick for my taste.

Definitely have to give Mimi’s Café an updated review, because they deserve a little spotlight on ‘em, at from our experience the other day… Ok, so I admit, like most folks, Mimi’s is not the first place I think of when it’s time to grab a bite to eat here in Natomas. But, as you also know, Natomas doesn’t exactly have a lot of eatery options, so it was time to expand our horizons and not be so immediately dismissive of this place. What helped in our decision making was the arrival of a coupon flyer in the mail. What can I say? Hubby and I love a deal, and either a «2-for-$xx) or «BOGO free» offer will usually get us in the door. So, with a 2-for-$ 25 deal that included 2 select apps, 2 select entrees, and 1 select shared dessert, we were in. First thing… they’ve gone French! I don’t know when this transformation took place, but we were greeted with«Bön Jour!» when we walked in. The décor is much more french bistro, and the menu displays french-inspired item names. For the apps, we both went for soup; me, one of the best french onion soups I’ve even had. Hubby, one of the best lobster bisques ever. In fact, we could come back and just get big bowls of each with their accompanying bread baskets, and we’d be happy. For entrees; me, chicken pot pie with THE most delicious, flaky crust ever and loaded with chunks of chicken. Hubby, a decent french dip sandwich with side salad. I loved my chicken pot pie! For dessert, an offering of three different nicely-sized yummies… brownie a la mode(warm and yummy which I finished by myself), bread pudding with bourbon sauce(all Hubby’s, which he said was delicious), and warm apple cinnamon crisp(which was delicious but we couldn’t finish because we were both sooooo full by now). Oh, and Juan, our server, was top notch. Kept our drinks refilled without having to ask(toujours, tres important). I have to say, sometimes we just feel like soup and bread, and now we have a #1 spot on our list(sorry, Panera!) right here in Natomas. I recommend y’all give it a try, at least once.
