I will never come here again! I decided to come for my bday and had a reservation. They refused to let my cousin in because he had on loafers! Loafers!!! $ 350 hard bottom loafers, and even after speaking to security they were super rude. I would never spend my time or money here period… Go to La or Bay Area before wasting time in wack ass Sac clubs. Highly disappointed

I’m going to change the name to Nomo’s! Because you won’t see me here nomo! It was our 5 year anniversary and we reserved the vip room. We had 10 people on our vip list and we were able to put more on the guest list which we were told that would be free before 11. So it all sounds good until that night 2 of our vip guest were charged $ 5 and all on the guest list were charged $ 5 at the door. So a total of 10 people were charged and if that’s how the guests list works you should’ve told us that! But then that’s not really the definition of guest list! So at the beginning of the night i was also given the bill for the room and was not told the gratuity was included and it didn’t state that on the receipt so the waitress was double tipped. So the next morning we reached out to the promoter that sold us the room to let him know and ask why our guest list was charged and this was his response… cricket cricket cricket! Yup not a damn thing! Which really sucks because the Dj plays really good music and we danced almost all night shot out to Matt Cali! But like i said you see me or anyone i know at NOMO’s!!! Because I am going to tell anyone i know not to go to Nomo’s

I love dancing. the only reason I go out anymore. The most important part of any club is the DJs choice of music and the vibe. There was a good mix of people there. and I found out where all the black men like to hangout. lol There were some very provocative females. but I didn’t mind. to each there own. The dance floor is small and you basically walk onto it as soon as you enter the building, after climbing up steep stairs in 4 in heels. There is a large outdoor patio with a bar. again down steep stairs. The music was good! However the vibe was very negative. A lot of people just stand around and the girls give you nasty looks. Not the environment I prefer to be exposed to when I’m trying to have a good time. I never understood why people go to night clubs and not dance… its basically just an expensive bar at that point. I’m not sure how much the drinks were, as I did not pay for any. But they were strong and cold… so good to me! If your looking to meet professional or classy individuals this is probably not the right place for you. However, I was there, so you never know:) I’ve only been here twice and both times occurred within this month. I do plan to return and enjoy dancing the night away.

This club is awwwful it’s not lively! Everyone is rude as hell upstairs VIP bs went up there with a friend the music is played out the vibe is alll kinds of wrong the drinks aren’t all that so I just stuck to the beers. Downstairs is worse I think it apart of something else it’s a live band playing for everyone one 40 and up that music is awful sad nothing to dance to unless you are over that age. I know it’s a club and most clubs are crowded but Damn it’s just not even enough to walk it’s far from k street, I’m sticking to K street clubs! If your young, ready for a party, want a decent crowd to be around with good service but don’t have a VIP table place to be your definitely in the wrong atmosphere…

We went here Labor Day weekend. The music was great and the place was packed. However, THESERVICEWASNOTGREAT! My sister got a VIP booth. First off they put us way in some corner. We complained about it and they told us «Oh we thought you guys were a complementary booth». So basically they did not know whether or not we paid and gave us a terrible section. After we complained, they told us that they would move us. Then after going back and fourth for about 45 minutes and having to talk to several people they told us they changed their mind because a NBA player is coming. That was like a slap in the face. Basically they told us we are not as important as the NBA player. That was beyond rude and offensive. That booth pretty much stayed open the whole night then one of the NBA players friends showed up with a few girls. The NBA player wasn’t even there. We made the best of the night because we had a lot of family there but we were incredibly offended and will probably never come here again. Just because we are not NBA players does not mean you need to treat us like crap. You don’t know who we are or what we do. Please work on your customer service!

Came here on a Thursday and there was literally 20 people in the lounge not including my group. The music sucked… it was hip-hop/rap. I love hip-hop/rap but some songs were replayed a few times. Not much excitement in terms of the music. The bartenders were very attentive inside the lounge and kept up with our orders. They had a bar outside but they said there wasn’t enough people so they shut down. I tried to buy some shots at that outside bar but they were strictly«closed» even though the bottle was right there and everything was still out. Don’t think I will be returning

Wow looks like this place has hit rock bottom! They have an 11 year old DJ. Put that on top of all the other bullshit you get when you go to this place and it is a recipe for disaster. They should change the name from Momo to Nono!

Had a VIP booth for my girls bday… had a fun time. the place is nice but a little dead… they made up for it because downstairs Harlows was cracking so can’t complain. Knocking it 1 star because it’s impossible to actually reach a person to ask question or make changes. They need someone to man the phones ASAP.

I came here last night to celebrate my friends birthday. We started our night off somewhere else and then finished our night at Momos. It was a beautiful lounge, the seating area was absolutely beautiful. I was able to have a conversation by the fire and enjoy my drink. — — I am not a smoker so that’s the thing that spoiled it for me but other than that I would definitely go back to enjoy another evening full of fun.

I was here for a private party for a friend’s birthday. The food was catered by Harlows and we had exclusive use of the Momo Lounge upstairs. A great bar, restrooms and a spacious dance floor. Cool couches to sit and chat and a pool table for those who didn’t want to dance. The bartender assigned to our groups was efficient and friendly. Drink prices are a bit high compared to lots of places nearby, but the drinks were well made and served quickly. I highly recommend this place for a private party or event.

Decent Venue & Nice Dance Floor, But Expensive Drinks & Ill-Conceived Bifurcation of Venue Cover-Charges for Simultaneous Events SITREP I’ve been to several events here to the associated«downstairs-venue» Harlows, including swing dance competitions, Cheeseballs, Tainted Love, Retro-Union Reunion, Peter Murphy, etc. as well as the«upstairs» Momo Lounge over the years with local DJs mixing a chill beat. Definitely had some pretty good times at both places. But let’s be clear from the get-go — Harlows/Momo is ONEVENUE — the website says so: Don’t pretend to be otherwise. More on this later… SET-UP There is a central dance floor with the perimeter of the room consisting of VIP couch areas on the North Side, the DJ booth riser and the extensive bar on the East Side, the entrance from the street on the West Side, and access to the stairway leading to the patio on the South Side. Furnishings are elegant, and dance floor permits close to 100 happy frenzied patrons enjoy grooving on the floor at the same time. But crowded, Momo isn’t the easiest place to stand around without crowding into dancers. Further, raised VIP areas & walkway access are not always clearly indicated(some of the lights on the floor are woefully inadequate, especially with strobe, laser and spotlights from above blasting into your face like a super nova) and people can trip very easily by not gauging the locations of the stairs, and loosing balance and falling from that area into the dance floor(like I did, much to my chagrin). Best part of the whole venue complex is the joint-patio area: smokin, chillin, mixin with EVERYONE, this is the place to be! ILL-CONCEIVEDBUSINESSSTRATEGEMS What is confusing sometimes is the configuration of events with Harlow’s /Momo venue set-up. I’ve been to events to where the entire building is accessible, and poppin! But other times, each area is closed off to the other area and though they barricade each venue group from the other, we all join together in the nice joint-patio area, so what’s the big deal if everyone has access to other rooms as well? It really shows short-sighted business strategems when you deny access to patrons between different rooms, but more importantly, it cuts into potential profits. SHOOTINGTHEMSELVESINTHEFOOT Bar business metrics show that MORE bars patrons have access too, the more likely they will be to SPENDMORE: (1) More likely to drink more with more availability — especially if one bar area is overrun & crowded and another isn’t; (2) Have fun«Testing» bartender skillsets of a different bartender(«who makes a better drink», «who uses more/less alcohol», «do they charge the same?»; (3) Research if different areas have different alcohols available(not all bars are alike); and, (4) Different areas featuring different music are more likely to capture more people to drink if there is a room with music that the person likes. Unhappy people don’t drink as much as happy people. If one room plays crap-music(to that patron), they won’t drink much. But if they get to move to a room or patio-bar area they like with ambiance & music they enjoy, they will imbibe more. FACES In contrast, this is why FACES remains a pre-eminent local bar-venue in terms of business plan & bar-promotion. I’ve been hitting it on Thursday nights and they have SIX(6) distinct rooms, all with their own bars, all playing different genres of music. BUTONLYONECOVER for the whole complex. That’s smart. People move around from room to room, enjoying«House music» in one, enjoying Karaōke in front, enjoying chill beats by the Pool in back, enjoying Gothic-Industrial mixes in side room, sexy rave dancers in middle, etc., but NORESTRICTIONS on moving from one area to another. I’ve seen many of my friends grabbing a drink from almost every room in the FACES night club on a Thursday. I will defer judgment on whether it’s smart — they know their own limits, I don’t — but from a business perspective, FACES has got a slam dunk set-up making bank because no one puts the brakes on patrons moving around to different rooms to spend more. SEATTLE I love PIONEERSQUARE on a Friday & Saturday night. To take it to the next level, almost 10 venues cooperate together with a shared cover charge that gets you a wrist band, and into all the venues within walking distance of each other. Business is BOOMING for these bars. So it’s fair to say that not only do some multi-room venues like FACES«get it», some Cities«get it» even more than Sacramento. But hey, if a community like Sacramento does’t want to do anything to get themselves out of the«minor leagues» of Entertainment & Hospitality industry, who are we patrons to stop them from«shooting themselves in the foot.» Some cities are destined to be forever«high school». THELOWDOWN Decent venue could be a better experience if fully integrated.

Haven’t been up to Momo Lounge for yeeeears(geez, I think the last time was on my 21st birthday!) but went back recently for the Asylum Revival Night on Memorial Day weekend. It’s not a huge venue but it’s got enough space, enough seats, enough dance floor and enough outside patio to air out on when you’re done with the dance floor… guess that’s all you need, right? ;) One of my group had the VIP booth reserved for his birthday, and it seemed like the booth got pretty attentive service(refills, more ice, glasses switched out, etc). Good thing because the one time I went to the bar for a drink, it took kind of a long time to get said drink and it cost like $ 9 for a vodka Red Bull(and NO, not top shelf vodka either). So I ended up just drinking the booth booze. The sound system was pretty decent, the ambience is upscale without being snotty, the crowd was cool, the staff seems nice, and in general a good dancey time was had by all. I do wish that they would either crank up the AC or add some ceiling fans(because it get ridiculous shvitzy in there!) and I *do* wonder how easy it is to get up and down those entrance and patio staircases if someone is smashed-drunk. I didn’t have to personally deal with that issue… there’s always next time! Ha.

Hhhmmm… went here on a Saturday night in order to see what Sacramento has been up to. For a second I thought I had stepped into Club Cheetahs, Magic City or maybe even Showgirls but I won’t hold the scantily dressed fetuses against Momo… Pros: Good DJ. with a decent amount of room for a small/medium sized crowd. Cons: Not much dancing/lounge space for the amount of people that is admitted into Momo’s. Not sure if I would go back to this place and not because there’s no opportunity for a good time but I’m into a more dress code/fire code compliant spot.

So, freaking, hot. The décor is decent but for some reason they bottleneck the area next to the bar which you have to pass by to get to the dance floor. Basically… you can’t get to the dance floor unless you want to push 20 people out of the way. The drinks were served moderately fast and I liked the outdoor area. It was insanely hot though. But as far as clubs go… it’s not the best, it’s not the worst. Entrance was sketchy.

I came here with a group of friends for the wig/mustache bash on Saturday. My friends and I want any excuse to dress up, and were excited with the prospect. The venue is rather small, but nicely decorated. There is plenty of seating to go around, which is great for us girls in heels. The music played that night was good, and the bartenders were very friendly. There is also a nice courtyard outside in case people want to get some fresh air. The worst thing about MOMO was that it had no ventilation. At the beginning of the night, the place was already super stuffy, and the place wasn’t even half full yet. By around midnight, the air got so unbearable that we had to constantly go outside or find refuge by the open back door. The owner really should invest in a better air conditioning/ventilation system. I also think the dance floor is super tiny. Drunk people crowded around a tiny floor inevitably causes spilled drinks and broken glasses – many of which happened on multiple instances. There is a vip booth smack dab in the middle of the club when it could easily be taken out to extend the dance floor. Anyways, we still had fun, and I would probably go back.

So the next time I want to drink with unfriendly people that care too much about looking cool I’ll come here. It’s pretty nice and everyone dresses up. The music was OK too. It was like Faces remixes of divebar jukebox songs and cool hip hop. Normally the staff at spots like this are grumpy and pushy. I understand why– it’s the crowd that comes to places like these. Unless they are gay, guys who think dressing up is fun are not to be trusted, ya dig? BUT the staff here was actually quite friendly– both door guys and security. The crazy thing is I got in with 2 dress code strikes against me. My Christmas sweater ensemble included a(Santa) hat and it wasn’t exactly dressy/classy. I don’t know why they didn’t let you other guys in. I guess you just gotta play it cool and own it. Dare I say 3.5 stars???
