Panaderia La Michoacana

Going home after a St. Robert basketball game, saw the taco carts out in front of their store, I had to stop and try the tacos. I walked in the store with my wife and kids and was greeted by a nice young girl (Mary) (Owners daughter), and noticed they also have food inside, we ordered asada and pastor tacos (Made outside by Tony the owner), carnitas torta, carnitas quesadilla made inside). We put the cilantro, onions, and red salsa (hot and delicious) and lime on the tacos outside, got our food from inside and went home to eat. So let me tell you, to make a long story short, this place is the REAL DEAL!!!
Tony gets my vote for best street tacos!!!

So after a recent visit to Puerto Vallarta, a friend recommended this place because of their «Al Pastor» tacos. Having just come from Puerto, and having hands down the best tacos of my life there, my expectations were high. Long story short… they didn’t even come close. Don’t get me wrong, the tacos were good, and I’ll be back, but I wouldn’t even call them Al Pastor, just tacos with a nice authentic Mexican flavor and atmosphere. They even had a nice little setup on the side with sauces and onions and cilantro, etc.
I loved this place, and I’ll definitely be back, but their version of Al Pastor just doesn’t measure up to the real thing. Not even close. Lastly, the prices weren’t all that cheap either. Tacos were $ 1.50/ea, and the torta was something like $ 5. Again, decent, but not great.

I came here at night because I felt like having some pan dulce. When I arrived I was in for a treat! I got a cochinito pan, and I had to have some tacos! The tacos were amazing and the staff was super friendly! The red sauce is bomb, it’s made with ghost pepper & I really enjoyed the grilled onions that came with my tacos! All, in all great little place. Will return for sure!

Im so glad I found this place. I was craving street tacos and my usual place was too far and closed. I looked on Unilocal and saw that this place was open late and super close to where I live. You go inside the market to order your food and they cook it your order right out front. They have a salad bar where you can load up your tacos! I have to say these tacos were soooooooo good! I defiantly will be coming back.

Great place for a variety of taco meats: lengua, cabeza, trip as, pastor, and of course beef asada. Hole in the wall spot and they cook their food in front of the store outside. This is a pretty legit spot and I really dig all the meats I had. Good to know there are some other Mexican joints in sac and not just fast food spots. Grab some tacos and eat outside in the beautiful Cali weather, can’t beat it!

Love the smell of the meat cooking before I walked into the store. They’re pan Dulce’s are pretty decent size. 5 for 2.50, awesome deal! We had dinner so we didn’t get a chance to try out the tacos.
They have so many different kinda of salsa @ the ‘salsa bar’ & meats. I was tempted but I was full.
They also have paletas for $ 1, I cannot refuse a good fresa paleta yum! Hubby got a coconut one. It’s on the left once you walk inside the door.
We will be back for the tacos, I can still smell it now ! Yummmmm. Didn’t get any pictures this time around.
The only thing I personally didn’t like is the place isn’t well organize, it looks like they’re trying but YA, could use a nice face lift.
Parking can be tricky & there’s only a few spots, you can park in the other spots that are shared with the other stores.

I recently moved back to Sacramento and have been on a desperate hunt for a good huarache… La Michoacana just made me a very happy gal.
I was on my way home and this spot is just around the corner so I decided to stop for some tacos. The door was locked and I was giving up when someone knocked on the window and pointed for me to go back. He opened the door and said I could come in.
When I got in there was a band playing and what I believe was a birthday party in full swing. I was distracted watching them but turned just in time… I was passing a yellow sign with the word «huaraches» at the top. I couldn’t tell you what else was on there… I looked up wide eyed and asked «You have huaraches?» He said he did and he would make me one.
While he cooked I listened to the band. I came to pay and he brought the bag over to the counter. I could tell it was gonna be a good one. I thanked him and then he let me out of the restaurant.
I got home and devoured that thing… it was so good! It had just enough heat and I couldn’t stop smiling to have found it. My nephew, who was cooking dinner, quickly abandoned that to share. I’ll likely be there weekly now that I know about it.

I don’t do reviews very often, actually this will be my very first one. This should let you know just how good these tacos are. I had the tacos al pastor and asada. The little hole in the wall has the best REAL tacos and service I have had in a while!

Some would say that my affinity for tacos goes beyond life itself. I’ve once eaten at 10 taco trucks in one night, so to say I love tacos, is a bit of an understatement. One of the most authentic tacos in Sacramento. The area is a bit shady, but don’t let that deter you from this restaurant. They serve fresh baked goods, fresh chicharrón, and fresh tacos all in one location. Can’t beat that. Tony’s the chef, order inside the store with cash/​card with his wife and bring the receipt back out to Tony, so he can get your order started. You’re welcome, earth!
