Wood fired pizza was delicious! We had the New Yorker. Live Music doesn’t start until 12 but the Rock Roll music was blaring! We will go again when the acoustic guitar music is playing!

The pizza was great and the beer selection was awesome, however, the service left something to be desired. The atmosphere was fun and the DJ played all the best 90s rock jams. Definitely worth a visit!

We had garlic fries and had the Sacramento pizza. Both really good. Can’t go wrong here. I know this is short.

Went for lunch with a co-worker. This place gets 2 stars for service, 4 stars for pizza. The service was ranging on inattentive. Admittedly it was a Friday lunch on K street but we stood in the doorway for 5min staring at staff passing. When we got seated, it think we saw our server twice, once to order and once to bring the check. Also the music is super loud, which is cool for dinner and dives but not mid-day lunch. The PIZZA though… They seriously know what they’re doing there. The Neapolitan pizzas come out super swift and feature tasteful, but not too heavy, crusts. The New Yorker was the perfect amount of spice, taste, and fulfillment that I look forward to having again. [The salad we got looked like a handful from a bag of mixed greens and that’s it so that’s not going to play into my review like it typically might, this is a pizza place after all] PROS: THEPIZZA, swift lunch service, decent price(15 $ each w/leftovers) CONS: loud for lunch, absent service

Not a terrible pizza, but still leaves something– How about that for a lukewarm preface? I treated my nephew from AU and folks to artisan pizza dinner on a weeknight. Easy as pie parking, and never had to circle even once. Standout: theme and crazy fun décor inside of the restaurant. How they managed to place all of the eye candy above the bar beats me. Service was alright; never got the full trust that my server hadn’t sometimes forgotten us by the front door(restaurant layout is one deep box). Loved the awesome crust– truly beautiful texture with the char of the wood fire oven. But why skimp so hard on my ingredients? I did pay you a Bay Area price for the 2 pies… Probably not justified in my head for a repeat visit. Onto Pieology and try their wares…

The food was alright. Very expensive! The music was too loud, and my waitress had a personality that almost made me lose my religion. The drinks took a long time to come out, and the one 30 dollar Pizza we ordered came out on a less than desirable foccaci. No vegetarian pastas offered, and that’s what I really had a taste for. My artichoke Pizza was tasty, my apple and Walnut salad was a bit wilted, I like crisp salads. However, we did get full. Parking was terrible and a lot of transient drama right outside the door. Now I know they can’t control that, but if you have kids with you… consider another spot. Overall VERY disappointed.

This place never disappoints. Good selection of cold brews and awesome combos of different pizza’s. Eddie munster is the best pizza I have tasted here! There are so many flavors going on, it’s crazy. Great atmosphere, music is good dim lighting, décor is cool. Just ordered the Cal Italia pizza so delicious, figured, prosciutto and balsamic reduction is a great Combo! Can’t go wrong here.

Soooooooo… The pizza was great! That’s the good news. Beer selection is pretty good as well. Now the atmosphere… I want you to imagine if Michael Bay and Guy Fierri’s dreams had a baby. Yup that about sums it up. If you recommend eating here to someone and they go. They are going to think you are a douche when they walk in. The thing is though, the pizza is great! I loved it. So beware what you are getting into when you show up.

I went last night with my cousin She’s really light skin looks looks Caucasian I’m tan. We’re Mexican So I asked for a table and the guy upfront said there’s no tables available when half the place was empty. So he sent us to the bar or asked if we wanted to do take out. So we went to the bar sat down for 10 mins still didn’t get any help. This white lady came up next to us and the bartender asked if she needed help she said no thanks she’s been helped already then he turned around and continued to talk to another bartender or waitress whatever she was. So me and my cousin look at each other then the random white lady stares at us too like wow they didn’t ask if we needed help or anything when we have been waiting before her. All I have to say is RACIST!!! RACISM written all over the staffs’ foreheads…

This place ROCKS on so many levels… Saturday before Mother’s Day and we were rudely turned away from Il Fornaio(cute for a chain, and looking for quick but yummy Italian). Didn’t even think we would get a table at Pizza Rock so last minute(assuming it would be too busy at 7PM on a Saturday –as they should be). But I called, the girl who picked up was very nice and said she could seat us right away actually if we could there in the next few minutes. We literally rushed down there, and I walked in with 1 of our totally party of 4 while the other 2 parked. She asked if I was the person who called, I said yes and she noted that she had saved us at table(nice, right? Not expected). It was then that I said how thrilled we were to get a table so quickly, and briefly mentioned our rude turn away from the«other» restaurant. From there on out, Pizza Rock seem to make it their life goal to treat us with VIP service –as if they had to make up for the other debacle. Service — top notch Food — AMAZING — loved our pizza(Tony Two Times). and holy cow the coccoli was to die for Great cocktails(The Out of Towner for example) and did I mention how nice they were?!? Plus the loud rockin music, fun atmosphere, they paid attention to have the playoff games on all TVs(NBA and NHL…), and no stuffy mairtre d to tell me how busy they were… Thanks Pizza Rock — can’t wait to go back and try the Sicilian pizzas and ALL the antipasti looked off the hook(have had prior, so I know its good). This visit showed your sweet, «gotcha covered» side –and I couldn’t be more grateful.

Had to try this place after seeing their epic menu online and over a thousand reviews. FOMO in full effect. We tried the first pizza on the menu that looked good which was the truffle pizza napoletana. Truffle oil and burrata cheese and arugula. The crust was pretty damn good. Not amazing but up there with the top five probably. The toppings eh, they were good don’t get me wrong but I was expecting a flavor party based on the reviews. I wouldn’t get that particular flavor again. Gotta try one of the prize pizzas next time. That burrata cheese though, mwah. So creamy and milky with just enough mozzarella flavor. Star of the show for sure. The mushrooms and truffle oil didn’t do anything for me. Overrated if you ask me. I still feel weird eating salad leaves on top of pizza too. Overall $ 20 for one small pizza is a little pricey, plus the music is pretty loud. Not for everyone.

Came here because my daughter was craving pizza and I wanted pasta! We are from San Francisco but are here for Volleyball tournament for the weekend! This place is super packed, good because they are good but bad because it was an hr wait. So we just took it to go… A little pricey, but you get for what you pay for. Which was GOOD! If we are back in town again we will definitely come back.

I totally dig this place! I came here right after running the SacTown-10 Run. And with the strength I had left in my spaghetti legs, I was soooo happy to be stuffing my face with some much needed carbs! Layout & Ambiance =============== ~ A old school, «between brick walls» type of building. Ample lighting during the day, and a much more darker side at night. Kinda like entering a theater. Not a romantic place, but plenty of space between the tables. A great place to basically grab a table and kick it, or I’d say enough room to accommodate large groups. Fun and interesting décor hung up along the walls as well. Sacramento Pizza & Meatballs ======================= ~ Thus far, the only two things I’ve tried here were the Sacramento Pizza and meatballs. ~~ I ordered the Pizza Rock Meatballs(6 for $ 10) which were made just right! For me, it was one of those situations where I just sat down, my eyes lit up with lust, I inhaled in the marinara aroma, took one bite and said, «Holy crap, I haven’t had a good meatball like that in a long long time!» Meaty, tender, moist, nice’n’herby… This is one appetizing platter that I didn’t wanna share haha! ~~ As for the Sacramento Pizza($ 20), it was your classic combo type of pizza with a simple crust. I wasn’t particularly in favor of the somewhat flimsy crust, but it was strong enough to serve it’s purpose. Serving it’s purpose meaning, it did enough to hold up the tomato sauce, the mozzarella cheese, mushrooms, pepperoni, bacon, red onions, olives, bell peppers, sausage, salami, and cherry tomatoes. Mmm mmm, all that good stuff! Now these are pizza pies, you can totally share. Just don’t touch my balls! Overall, I enjoyed eating and relaxing here. Their pizzas are decent, and the meatballs are simply«to die for!» The prices are average and the service was excellent. If you’ve never been here, and can’t decide; In my opinion, it’s definitely worth a try. I cannot wait to order something different the next time I’m in town. My eyes lit up every time a different pizza passed me by! Yep, it’s just that kind of place!

Ordered from Pizza Rock through the Caviar app(which I downloaded specifically for this order) for a work meeting at our office which is just a 5 minute walk away from the restaurant. We’re always looking for good places in the area to order in from so were hopeful about Pizza Rock. The pizza sizes were decent, but despite our very close proximity, when our pizzas arrived they were stone cold… how is this possible? Not worth the price. They may have tasted better when they were warm, I guess we’ll never know. Because this was my first time using the Caviar app, the delivery fee was comped. However there was still a $ 15.66 service fee! I won’t be using this app again so not sure how much the delivery fee would be on top of that. Crazy exorbitant would be my guess!

If you’ve ever enjoyed the pizza at Tony’s Napoletana or Capo’s in North Beach, San Francisco, you’ll have an appreciation for what’s in store here at Tony’s Sacramento pie house, Pizza Rock. The Las Vegas-style interior is a bit over the top, but don’t be misled: This isn’t a formula chain-type restaurant when it comes to the pizza. Two ovens — the star, a Cirigliano wood oven from Naples — fire up a variety of American, Sicilian and Neapolitan style pizzas, including a Margherita that won the World Pizza Cup in Naples in 2007. Pastas are made in-house, as are the Sicilian and Calabrese style sausages. The taste, bite, crunch, doughiness are all top grade. Worth checking out!

Here recently for a birthday gathering and once prior, a few years ago. I don’t remember much from my 1:00am munchies on my prior time here but from what I do remember, not much has changed. A good mark for consistency. Quite a crowd here on a Sunday evening. With our group of 10 – 12, separate checks was not a problem. An automatic gratuity of 18% was added to each ticket because of the total size of our group. Service was ok, not outstanding. Drink refills. glass would disappear for a few minutes and then return. I was interested in light pizza fare on this evening and chose the Marinara — a thin crust with EVOO, a marinara of San Marzano tomatoes, sea salt, garlic, and oregano(nope. no cheese). This pie was blasted in the 900 degree wood fired oven. Cloves of garlic scattered atop the pie. A fairly large open space with table/chair seating rest between the extremely high back curved banquets on one side and the bar(with looming semi truck cab above) on the other. A large fresco style mural on the ceiling. It’s not cheap pizza but it is pretty good pizza. Styles include Napoletana, Romana, classic American, classic Italian, deep dish, cracker thin, and gluten free options as well. Depending on what pie(or calzone or stromboli) you choose, it may be cooked in one of four ovens. * 900 degree wood fired oven * Italian electric brick oven * gas brick oven(2 of these, different styles) Not in the mood for pizza pie … salads, pasta, burgers, and sandwiches are available. Ask for the vegan menu if you’re vegan. The menu option vary depending on what time of day/night(lunch, dinner, late night, etc).

Came here on a Tuesday afternoon for some munching and crunching during happy hour. Since this time i wasn’t on my asian time, i was actually way early that i got a head start. When i got sat down, i wasn’t served til about 5 mins later. I got id checked for ordering an adult drink which is still an compliment. Since it was a pizza day, pizza and beer always goes good together, like a married couple. Of course i ordered an ice cold bottle beer for 2 bucks during happy hour, which was Budweiser. As i am sipping the rest of my party start showing up. Calamari I had ordered a calamari hh appetizer, which was offered in traditional or spicy or half and half. Knowing me i got the spicy one, because i love it spicy and sassy! The Texture and presentation looked really scrumptious! On my first bite, it was amazing and blasting with flavors! The spicy level is like a medium from a non spicy eater Unilocaler. The most memorable item from this dish is the sauces! I just love it saucy and the aioli sauce is soooo tasty and bomb pussy good!!! It was just so creamylicious, you just can’t resist not double dipping. Wood fire pizza — Quattro Carne I asked about their wood fire pizza and that only a certain section is from the wood fired, but the rest is just from the oven. Of course we chose the best which was Quattro Carne — Which is hand crushed tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, sopressata picante, hot coppa, salami and prosciutto di parma. topped with arugula, sweet drop peppers and formage blanc. The pizza was a bit salty when you bite into the salami. The crust was alright and kind of doughy. The crust on the edge was puffy and perfect to dip into the calamari bomb pussy aioli sauce! Overall the pizza was alright and not my favorite place to have pizza. Trio mac and cheese The presentation and the amount served in each little cup is great. The taste was kind of bland to most of them. There was original, buffalo jalepeno, and italian style. The original was just creamy and kind of powdery in some bites. The italian had a crispy texture on top because of the bread crumbs. The buffalo style was ok only if you bite into the jalepeno pepper. Otherwise i will pass on this dish for hh. Service was ok. The server kept on coming back and ask if we need to add more items. Each time he came i took advantage of the 2 dollar hh beers. lol… In the end i would give it a 3 ½ stars and i had a ok experience for hh. I think i would come back and try the non wood fire personal pizzas and see if it will bump it to 4 stars. I do like the drink specials and Calamari which might will lure me back in soon. Thanks for reading and cheers! Have a great day and stay Faboulous!

This is the place that I always wanted to try right through my potential bucket list for a very long time after I bought a Groupon offer two months ago. Pizza Rock is the name where you can enjoy these delicious pizza creations and specialties, appetizers, salads, pastas, mixed drinks, and many more! As my Unilocal buddies and I were dining in Pizza Rock yesterday on 1÷24÷2016 after I reserved a table for 10, the atmosphere is very laid back with a warmer, friendly feel with all the wide-range of loud conversations that surrounds the whole room. The concept is much mixed with a dive bar and a local-feel pizza restaurant altogether in a rock n’ roll twist especially their craziest decors of the slammed stilt big-rig truck(FYI, the truck horn might popped up on quite sometimes during business hours which it’s quite distracting for me in my opinion,) Michelangelo’s above rockin’ wall painting, and a mannequin too. The employees inside Pizza Rock are doing a great job here for making the customers like me an amazing service despite the small bumps of reserving a table by phone call, and waiting more of my guests to arrive before seating. Overall, no cons at all. Now onto the food! I ordered their meatballs with Marinara sauce, and their specialty pizza creation: the Sacramento pizza. As I ate it, these two are much, simply eatable! The meatballs in Marinara sauce is well cooked, and well balanced to make this appetizer more delightful. Additionally, the Sacramento pizza: what a kicker pizza! I can feel all the ingredients from proteins and vegetables combined into a one pizza taste! The crust of the pizza is baked very well and chewable. The baking of that personal sized pizza cooked very top notch, so I can eat a slice of pizza entirely. Such a great pizza for an enjoyable dinner! Parking at Pizza Rock can be challenging to park. You can park it at the nearest surface street parking nor the parking garage. Otherwise, you can also ride a bike, walk, or public transportation easier without all the hassles. All in all, Pizza Rock is the most, rockin’ pizza restaurant that I really enjoyed and experienced the most of my entire life! Perfect for friends/family gatherings, weekly happy hour pleasures, and late night snack out! A well, worthy visit! My rating: 4 solid stars.

This has quickly become one of our favorite pizza places in midtown Sacramento. The restaurant has an urban feel to it, they have a great selection of beer & a large open pizza oven you can see as soon as you walk into the restaurant. The staff is very upbeat and friendly & your food comes out quickly. We’ve been there twice & both times the pizzas(Tony Two Times & Sacramento) were DELICIOUS! The toppings are fresh, the sauce has great flavor, & the crust is crispy on the bottom & holds up all those yummy toppings! I would suggest the chicken wings over the mozzarella sticks every time!!! The mozzarella sticks were cheesy yumminess, but those chicken wings were spicy & deliciously saucy… Very addicting lol!!! If your just stopping by for a beer make sure you try their chicken wings! They’re that damn good!!! The restaurant gets really busy on the weekends… we went first on a Sunday & it was packed w/large groups of pizza lovers, so we had to eat at the bar, but during the week day(Thurs) we were sat right away! Another great restaurant checked off our list of the many to try & we’ll definitely be back again!
