Dr. Prasad, and Mercy General operated on me Tuesday. I wish I had done this year’s ago. The Hospital care(my concern) was wonderful. The whole process of documentation(sdi, work requirements) went well through his office. I have little to no pain at the surgical site. That’s a good indicator that minimal collateral damage was done while completing the task(the opiates help too). My arm still feels odd, perhaps best described as slightly less sensation, but all painful or negative symptoms are gone. They were gone before I woke up. At the dinner table last night my wife observed I no longer shook my arm constantly(trying to make the tingles go away). In and out of the hospital in about 18 hours.

Dr. Prasad and his PA Jennifer Bowman are top notch in my opinion. I received excellent care and plenty of time to discuss alternative strategies in detail with the Dr. Prasad. My actual surgery went very smoothly with a very short hospital stay and very little pain meds needed. I’ve had two previous back surgeries but this one was the easiest recovery by far. The office staff is friendly but a bit disorganized and it would be nice to be able to call and talk to a staff person directly without waiting a full day(or more) for a call back. But once you are fully engaged with Dr. Prasad you will receive excellent care and the assurance that you are in the hands of a top neuro-surgeon who has seen it all.

I have been sending this office referrals all year, first they did not receive my referral. Not sure if it was my primary or their office, I proceeded to have 4 other doctors offices send referrals. Still, non of them have been received. It has been nine months now, and I was told why my referral never made it! One of the office staff had another job and was stuffing referrals under her desk and in the trash. After nine months of calling and getting the run around, I did not see the doctor in my appointment with the doctor, he had to go to a deposition, then after a month of vacation, I was referred to Stanford because I was too complex. This office is a wreck! A year of my life wasted! Doctors are responsible for the acts of their staff. Also, why wouldn’t one of the other office staff notice no work being done for nine months… Something is very wrong here… Run don’t walk from this office!

Because of my spinal stenosis, I was unable to be on my feet for more than a few minutes at a time without my legs going numb. I was also in near constant pain. Dr. Prasad performed a discectomy and a laminectomy and it literally changed my life. I was unable to enjoy many simple things in life, like going for walks, and now I can. Be prepared to wait when you have an appt. Seriously. It is common to have to wait 30 minutes or longer past appt. times to be seen. Just keep this in mind. When it is your turn to be seen, Dr. Prasad will take all the time you need. He will listen to you and take as much time as needed to examine you and explain your options. He will never rush you. Your spine is important and Dr. Prasad takes his job very seriously. I am so thankful for Dr. Pradad!
