A friend told me about this place. She was right. Great place to have a couple drinks waiting for traffic to die down. Very nice clean establishment. I will be going back for sure.

Good spot for a quick drink after work on a Friday. Pool area can fill up quick. They have bigger tables so a group of 6 – 8 could chill but nothing really grabbed me and stands out in my mind about this place.

Favorite bar for a night with close friends. There are four pool tables and little lounge areas with tvs. The main area around the bar is too loud to hold a real conversation but great for the nights of drunken banter. The connected café Bernardo is great for brunch on a Sunday morning.

A common rant: Good food, nice atmosphere, poor service I feel bad because I liked our waitress… just too busy for one server(if there was more we never saw him/her) Had a nice pizza and burger but it took tooooo long to get anything!

The bartenders here are super cool and they make great drinks. Would definitely visit this place again next time I’m in Sacramento!

Chill spot to stop in to watch a game or shoot some pool. A little bit loud and the tap list isn’t the greatest, but it gets the job done. Great place to stop and hang for a bit.

Ordered a Moscow Mule, great drink. As for the atmosphere its great! Got here before the crowd so a seat at the bar was available. Great music, attentive bar staff. I will be back!

Visiting Sacramento for an overnight work trip and wanted to watch the Sharks game. A co-worker recommended the bar/restaurant across the street but upon walking up I saw this one was significantly less crowded and already had the game on! I popped in and asked if they would put the game on on the specific TV I was facing and they accommodated me immediately. Another couple soon asked for the same TV to be changed to a different sports game and the bartender honored me being their first and told them she’d be happy to change a different TV they could view. Ended up chatting with the couple next to me and they were super friendly. Nice to know their patronage is a good crowd. The waitress asked if I wanted any food and didn’t press when I declined. The 5 star rating is for their stellar customer service and understanding sports fans!

The highlight of this bar was the two bums outside play karate fighting! Pretttty entertaining considering I was a handful of beers and Jamison and sprites deep. The happy hour menu is super limited and the food is average.

Nice spot to hit for a drink before a show at Ace of Spades. Friendly bartenders. Good food next door. Relaxed environment to hang with a pal, watch a game, play some pool. Nice outdoor area.

Overall fun place… we grabbed a bite before heading next door to Ace of Spades for a concert. Food is Café Bernardo next door which also serves the Ace. The waitress was nice and also busy. She kept the kids drinks full. I have the Angus burger medium… perfecto! First time I’ve had it cooked to a true med in a long time! Also noshed on the BF’s asian salad; it was decent, nothing to write home about. Others had the happy hour quesadilla-barely any pork in it but again decent. Last the habanero burger got 2 thumbs up… I tried a couple fries, they were on the barely warm side but tasty. Overall a fun spot to go on a Friday evening with the teenagers or with friends to shoot pool or catch the Warriors on one of a decent number of TVs.

I love this place! We come here every Sunday to watch football. I would give 5 stars but they said they took the waffle off the menu because the waffle maker keeps breaking and they don’t want to buy another one! Our waitress told us people order it so much and it overheats and breaks and they don’t want to deal with it anymore. It’s so popular you are going to take it off the menu? Makes no sense. I’m sad. Also, the breakfast sandwich is very different. Don’t care for it anymore. Overall good place. Just disappointed with the changes.

Been here a few times a few years ago. Came by last Friday for a few drinks on my birthday while, we waited for our table to be ready at a nearby restaurant. Our bartender,(wish I could remember his name) was super nice. We asked him for two birthday specials, one fruity and one strong. I’m not sure what he made me but it was delicious. My boyfriend got a Wiki Wacki and he thoroughly enjoyed it. The bartenders were all super friendly. I plan to be back!

I’ve been here a few times now and think it’s a pretty cool place. It’s also in an awesome neighborhood with several other cool restaurants and bars nearby. The last time I went was to meet my friend to watch the WNBA playoffs in one of the caves. I didn’t even know that the caves existed before! They are pretty much small rooms with a private TV, so are ideal if you want to get a group of friends together to eat, drink, and watch something that is on. You also have wait staff give you service in the cave and they seem really good about splitting checks. The caves are first come first serve and not by reservation. However, I do wish they had more craft beer available either on tap or in bottles since their selection is rather limited. They had one beer by Track 7 on tap and I was able to get Ballast Point Sculpin in a bottle. This is an area were they could really expand their selection. If you are hungry, you can order food from Café Bernardo next door. I’ll be back to use the caves again!

Went here Labor Day Monday before going to Shady Lady. Had some appetizers(not impressed) and a couple of rounds of drinks. Bartender(guy) was great! Very nice and personable. My brother and I buy another round and go outside to smoke a cigar. We ask the bartender if we could sit at the tables instead of the tall tables with bar stools which were directly in the 100+ degrees and he said yes. We didn’t tell him we were about to smoke cigars, but think we needed to since others were smoking cigarettes. All of a sudden a woman(manager???) comes out and tells us we can move to the tall tables which she acknowledged were directly in the blazing sun, but the smoke was going inside. She indicated the cigars«were not allowed», but she’d let us smoke at the tall tables. No sign posted that cigars aren’t allowed. Never heard of that rule, but cigarettes are allowed??? We had only taken a couple sips of our great drink when we fired up our premium cigars. No way we were going to ruin them by putting them out. Instead, we got a refund for our drinks and took our wonderful stogies to Shady Lady where we were welcomed with opens arms!

Still my GOTO spot to meet up with friends before we take over midtown… or just to grab a beer if I’m passing through town. Theo the bartender is one of the most down to earth chill bartenders that loves his job, tip him well. It’s now facing more competition with new spots opening up across the street, but I still love the simple seating arrangement here along with the pool tables with private rooms if you like shooting pool and having meaningful conversations with a hot date, your wife, or whomever. In reality I hope all the bars restaurants in this area compliment each other rather than beat each other up in revenue. R15 is still and will always be my pregame spot as the scene changes in midtown.

This review is for R15, not the café it shares it’s space with. It was just ok, nothing to make the place stand out. We asked the bartender what he recommended as a drink or his specialty, and he just told us he’d make us whatever we wanted. Ah ok, so I guess I’ll just have a beer(you missed an upsell here, buddy). We sat at the bar and we saw him once, the place was really dead in the bar area. There were a few games of pool happening in the other space but that was about it. I’m trying to remember something specific, but it just wasn’t a place that stands out from any other bar.

Pros and cons of sharing space with Café Bernardo’s are as follows: Pros: great food, great food, and great food. Cons: R15 won’t make your drink if you ordered it from Café Bernardo side. I waited 10 minutes for my drink(CB) fault apparently. I went to 3 different sides of the r15 bar to try to get the bartenders attention as she intentionally ignored me. I find out later that CB employees have an area where they make drinks for their customers. That being said, the R15 bartender noticed we already had our food and realised she probably wansnt going to get anything out of it and chose not to help us at all. Paragarys should seal up the openings whether they own it or not.

Service was ehhh. We ordered food and it took almost 25 minutes to get to our table. When we got our food, the waiter forgot to bring us some napkins, utensils, and plates. Had to go up to the bartender and ask for some Food was good though and drinks were OK. Wouldn’t go here on a Friday afternoon as it gets pretty packed.

Café Bernardo’s is by far my favorite family run chain in downtown Sacramento, and R 15 is my favorite location! There are a number of reasons to love Café Bernardo’s R15: *Menu is the same at all location but this bar has an additional bar eats and Happy Hour menu after 3:00 pm *The staff is great, especially my gal: Claire. She works earlier in the week dealing with the lunch crowds. She remembers my drink and food orders(rarely ever order anything other than the Mushroom Jarlsberg Cheese Salad and the Kale Caesar Salad). *This location is more of a sports bar so there are a number of TVs surround the bar and pool tables in the back. *Nice patio to sit and people watch. Overall a great spot to have lunch, bar hop, watch the game or play pool. The perks of it being a Café Bernardo helps because the food comes from the connected Café.
