Lovely ambiance and some of the best food in the Sacramento area. I am a bit of a food snob and missed out on good food, but luckily I stumbled onto this place. I have been there many times and they always hit it out of the park!

I’ve been to this place on numerous occassions, and it never disappoints. It’s usually pretty busy anytime you go, so go ahead and make a reservation to ensure you don’t have to wait long when you get there. The atmosphere is always jumping, and people are chatting with one another, usually about how good the food is. The breakfast: bring your appetite because the portions are made for a cowboy. Hearty and healthy meals that far surpass the competition in this area. The mini donuts… get them. If you don’t, you will stare around at other patrons eating the warm, delicious bites. They come with 3 different sauces to dip the donuts in. You will not regret it, if you choose to order these. The dinner: zucchini chips are a must have when going to Roxy. A great, healthy choice to share amongst the table. My favorites: spicy kale caesar is a great salad, with a cowboy kick! The chili with all the fixins’ is something that was created by the heavens. Warm and hearty meal to wrap up a great experience. Try this place if you haven’t already. You will not regret it!

Came here for breakfast on Saturday morning around 10am. Beautiful décor inside. Not only was the food awesome but it is very kid friendly! The bacon slab is super tasty! Their donut holes are made from scratch and come with dipping sauce — caramel, butterscotch and chocolate. I ordered the vanilla brioche French toast and loved it. It was very sweet so I didn’t get to it eat all… but my husband did lol. This review is only for breakfast.

After years of meaning to come by here I finally made it. Heard for years this place was good for brunch and the rumors were true. We had an order of homemade donut holes, the brioche French toast, thick cut bacon, LDR steak Benedict and the little guy had a pancake. All tasted extremely good and even the sour dough toast was a hit. Must try.

This was the first time to Roxy and we loved it! We had Jay as our server, and she was excellent! She was so helpful with the menu and her recommendations were spot on. Their Elvis Bacon is to die for! Any dish with that will be amazing! We will definitely be back, and we hope to jet Jay again!

Love this place! Always a perfect meal! Dessert was deeeelish! Tonight we had a 10oz New York Strip, done to perfection. Along with the fabulous steak on a bed of seasonal veggies, we had the twice baked potato. Mmmmmmmm! To top it off, a seasonal fruit cobbler, I lucked out because it was peach(my absolute favorite), with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream on top. Perfection!

First visit and first impression. I was stuck working on Memorial Day. A coworker suggested that we go here after work because A) they are open on the holiday and B) they have a good happy hour menu for food and drinks. Most places have short happy hours… not here(at least on Mondays) On Mondays, the happy hour is between 3 and 9 pm! Arriving around 5pm on a holiday Monday, the place was pretty empty. The space is large and spacious! I could see that they were playing with circular shapes in the partial drop-ceilings and in the shape of the booth tables. It lends a nice effect to what might be an uninteresting big box-y interior.(Well-done, artifact and decorator!) The guy at the bar greeted up, and chose to sit at one of the tall round tables near the bar where we could see the small television. We ordered 2 of the happy hour menu ½ lb burgers(medium-cooked), some skinny fries, and Not your Dad’s Root Beer and a ginger-ale/lemonade/bourbon drink(called a Kentucky Spritzer, or something) The feel of the bar area area is nice and comfortable. Even when we were almost the only patrons there, we didn’t feel exposed or like we were sitting in a giant space alone. Something about the design of the furniture and the layout lends itself to feeling«covered and not exposed.» The gingerale, lemonade, and bourbon drink is normally made with Evan Williams bourbon. When asked, the barman said that I could buy a well drink of any of their other bourbons and substitute it in with a small increase in price.(I asked him to use Bulleit). It came out nice! I will have to remember that one. Especially good was that whatever lemonade they used, it was ~not~ terribly sweet, so the resultant mixed beverage was not cloying or gooey… very nice! The burgers arrived in a surprisingly short time and we dug in. the fries came in a conical presentation that was«vertical». The burgers came with the usual fresh onion, lettuce and pickle slices and a nice, soft and warmed bun. I must’ve been hungry, because the food disappeared in short order, but not before I snapped a photo and admired the flavors profusely. The patties were excellent and grilled to perfection! We were meeting other friends who arrived in a short while, so we moved away from the bar into a table in the main body of the restaurant. More small plates of skewers, shrimp and beef, friend pickles chips and jalapeño„ etc were ordered and sampled. While the service out in the main area was not bad, it was not as spot-on as in the bar area. In the bar, we never had to do more than look up once to catch the bar guy’s attention. I will likely prefer going straight to the bar area again, on future visits.

What a joke! Let me start my review by saying, I’ve been coming here since Roxy opened. It’s always been a family favorite whether it’s to celebrate a birthday or a family get together, I’ve always experienced outstanding food and service. It had been about a year since I visited and decided to go tonight for their happy hour. Not only had it been the first time in a long time that I had visited, but it was the first time I had eaten out somewhere after the recent car accident I was in. I went to have a celebratory meal of getting done with my physical therapy with my boyfriend at around 4:30 this evening. We were seated promptly in the bar area near the server station for the happy hour. Our first server was the bartender(Christine I think her name was) My boyfriend ordered the Vanilla Thyme Old Fashioned which on the menu stated it was with the High West Double Rye. My boyfriend noticed that the bartender was using Bulliet Rye to make his drink. He confronted her when she brought the drink and she informed us they were out of High West. She should of told us this information earlier due to the fact the drink now was overpriced for what she used. One of the other severs(a girl with braces) was placing her orders behind us on the computer complaining to other staff members that she was«too stressed out» to handle anymore tables and that her tables were«stiffing» her with tips. It was honestly appalling to hear this conversation behind me. Our food came out cold. It was cold because our food had been sitting waiting to be picked up for over 5 minutes. The server continues to complain about her friends relationship at the server computer and is in conversation with another team member. Her drink glass is being slammed down right behind my ear over and over again. We than waited more than 10 minutes to receive our check. The funniest part about this was the brace face server that was complaining about being stiffed with tips and having a physical panic attack over«how many tables she had» only had about 8 – 10 tables. Which really isn’t a lot in the restaurant world. I know this because my boyfriend is a sever and was shocked the way she publicly displayed her emotions. Roxy has really let me down this time and I don’t think I will be back anytime soon. You have lost a long time customer and your staff is extremely poor with their attitudes.

Decided to come in on Easter Day around 5:00pm. Surprisingly, the restaurant wasn’t packed. But we decided to come in for drinks. So, this review will be solely based on that. I’ll write another review when I come back for dinner. Anyways — drink selection isn’t that great. There wasn’t much to choose from. I ordered their house red sangria. It was OK. I wouldn’t order it again, but i’d definitely try something else. Just don’t forget to check in for your free side of zucchini chips! Super tasty. I’d definitely order it again next time. It was coated and cooked just right! No complaints at all. Now, in terms of customer service… it was ok. it took awhile before someone helped us. Anyways, despite the low-rating review — i’d come back to try their food. It looks like they have a good selection. But if you are just looking for a spot to get a drink or two, i’d look for a different place.

A woman sits alone with a book, at a bar in a trendy restaurant. She reads, sips wine, and takes occasional bites from the plates before her. Don’t feel sorry for her, for she is happy. She just took advantage of Roxy’s Monday all-night happy hour, scoring a glass of amazing New Zealand sauv blanc and three small plates for under $ 20(plus a generous tip).

Being a poor college student who loves cheap food, happy hours with actual food deals are a gift sent straight from heaven. And Roxy’s all day happy hour Mondays is like receiving a blessed kiss on the forehead from a baby angel. Their happy hour menu is extensive and unlike many other places have actual meals and dishes on them instead of just fries and onion rings. A definite good deal would be the 7 dollar burger, that’s basically a dollar or two above your standard fast food burger price and you’ll have the added reassurance that if you left it on your desk for 7 years it wouldn’t still look the same as the day you bought it. As well as happy hour Mondays they have build-your-own-burger Thursdays, where you can build your burger with the choice of various meats, cheeses and other add ons like egg or grilled onions and each individual choice/add on has a set price so you’ll know what you’re getting into price wise. So go to Roxy’s on Thursdays to see your inner fatty desires come true and for a moment live in blissful willful ignorance of obesity and diabetes. The food at Roxy’s is great, the burgers are juicy and delicious. My favorite happy hour menu item are the quesadillas, they’re crispy and the fillings are always delicious and they come with a side of sour cream and salsa. Roxy’s famous zucchini chips weren’t really that special to me, they just taste like thinner less crispy chips but they must sprinkle them with crack because for some reason once you start eating them you can’t stop so definitely at least try them. And as a closer I’d like to say as someone who goes to restaurants solely for the food and could care less about whether a waiter smiles at me while I’m shoving 4 different types of food into my mouth, the service at Roxy is exceptionally great. The waiters are all nice and funny and always make sure customers are taken care of.

I still don’t get why people rave about this place. I’ve been here more than enough times to give it an impartial review. Even without high expectations, here goes: This restaurant is one of those«30-footers» .looks deceivingly good from afar, but a head-scratcher in close contact. Complacent service. Lackluster food. — Crispy Calamari($ 14) — peppers, onions, fennel, bootleg hot sauce & cornichon-caper remoulade. — Pan Seared Ahi Tuna($ 28) — sweet & sour cabbage, pickled shiitake mushrooms, hazelnut butter sauce. Calamari tasted like burnt plastic. Just consisted of overly battered, deep-fried«squid» if that’s what they want to call it. It was too tough and rubbery. The tuna definitely did NOT come to the rescue. I was anticipating a little redemption, but damn. not the vibrant red you’d hope for, more like that packaged maroon from Costco. accompanied by that suspicious smell. Ahh I really do hate talking negatively about restaurants. All I keep thinking is that Unilocal has this«meh, I’ve experienced better» tag for a reason. And I’ve certainly experienced WAY better.

I’m actually a little embarrassed that I forgot to get my free check in zucchini chips– do not make the same mistake! The place looks very upscale and is well kept. The ambiance is more on the romantic side, but definitely bring your friends for a happy hour, as it’s worth a try. We stood at the reception desk waiting for someone to acknowledge us and take us to a table, but the time it took for someone to do that was noticeably long. It wasn’t horrendous, but long enough for me to give a weird look. To be fair, it was somewhat closer to closing time, and it was skeleton staff hour, so it was understandable. The food is really awesome. The zucchini chips(which I paid for) are a must have. They were lightly breaded and fried to resemble wafer sized Pik-Niks. The lamb meatballs were amazingly juicy and flavorful, with just enough red sauce to coat every bite. The lamb burger entrée was good, although not as impressive as the tapas style appetizer. In its own right it was quite juicy, flavorful, and accompanied with some really great shoestring garlic fries, if you’re looking for a medium, ask for something more well, as they tend to cook to the rare side. I don’t mind, but I’m sure someone will. The staff is super nice and attentive, and they do Buca-di-beppo style birthday greetings by bringing other staff to celebrate. Overall a great experience

What a great place for Happy Hour, which happens to be ALL day Monday. The menu for Happy Hour small bites is concise and bursting with variety and flavor. We were starved after a tough ballet class, so we basically ate back every calorie we had just burned. But it was worth it! We ordered the steak skewers, the stuffed red bell pepper(this was quite gourmet! Reminded me of the exquisite mole dishes I had in Oaxaca). The chopped salads and a side of fries pickles, jalapeños and fennel was more than enough! Will return very soon to try out a full dinner. Can’t wait! Very interested in trying the beef from their ranch.

First impression was great of this place! not to mention I had made a reservation on Unilocal for Valentines day brunch. We had a party of 7 and they had no problem seating us right on time! The complimentary Zucchini chips with our Unilocal check in were tasty and were a nice touch to our morning cocktails. Considering the menu advertised their beef I decided to order their beef Benedict, ANNND drum roll by noon they were out of their most popular dish. Once we placed our order we were kept happy with our drinks full. After a LONG wait our food arrived hot and fresh looking. I had settled for the salmon omelet, which was okay and tried some of my families dishes(Roxy breakfast) which was okay as well. All in all this was an okay experience, and unfortunately not getting what I wanted initially really left me wanting something else.

Came here for lunch a couple years back but never wrote a review. The only things I remember were the zucchini chips and the patio seating. But nothing else was memorable. For some reason I was thinking maybe dinner would be a better run this time around… that, and the other five places I had in mind were all booked already. Thanks, procrastination. Right off the bat minus points for the super cold table we got near the door. But luckily it warmed up a bit once the restaurant got busier and when the food came out. Our server, also the bartender, came by to bring water. I was a little bit put off by her laid back(not in a good way) attitude — she decided not to explain the specials because I «probably heard her explain it to the other table.» Which I didn’t, for the record, because I don’t normally listen to servers serve other tables when I go out to eat??? Anyway, we started off with the calamari appetizer. Also known as a big greasy smörgåsbord of squid, onions, a couple random zucchini chips, a bell pepper?, and whatever other vegetables. The dipping sauce was good, the breading was too heavy, and it just seemed more like a plate of whatever was left in the fryer. I was looking forward to my entrée when it arrived because it was plated very nicely, despite the huge mounds of sour cream on top. I ordered the pork stroganoff, served ravioli style. I was excited to take my first bite… but it was super underwhelming. The only flavor was from the sour cream, thank goodness there was a lot of it. You’d think there would be a lot of flavor with the shredded pork or the sauce, but it was quite the contrary — just bites of chewy pasta and mushy potatoes. We have no problem paying a pretty penny, as long as the food is worth it, but this wasn’t the case. The highlight of this meal was spending another Valentine’s Day with my loved one — but don’t count on me coming back here. Not all second chances are worthy!

Yum! I have always been pleased with my meals here! It’s got a little funky vibe and i like it. I always order something different and have usually been impressed with what I get. The beer selection is limited but they do go for quality options. Staff is always pleasant and helpful. Last time I was there I had meat balls with goat cheese and it was fantastic. I highly recommend Roxy.

FOOD — Zucchini Chips: free when you check in on Unilocal :) Delicious, lightly salted goodness! 4.5÷5 — Barnigan Farm’s Turkey Burger: turkey patty topped with watercress Chimichurri, caramelized onions, and goat cheese. The turkey meat could have been seasoned better. The burger was bland. More Chimichurri would probably have made it better. 3⁄5 – Skinny Garlic Fries: good but it wasn’t garlic-ky at all. 3⁄5 — Eggnog Crème Brulee with Vanilla Almond Biscotti: Sweet with a hint of egg nog, topped with whipped cream. The biscotti was hard, as a biscotti biscuit should be. It sure put my molars to work. 4⁄5 SERVICE We were immediately greeted and seated. The host and servers were friendly and professional. Service was slow. Luckily, we didn’t have anywhere to go. I liked that I was able to make a reservation through Unilocal. It was very convenient. 3.5÷5 FINALTHOUGHTS My dish was mediocre but my friend had the short ribs which she raved about. I would definitely come back to try other things. Great staff, but slow service.

We came here last Friday for dinner for a party of six people. The restaurant was very busy so good thing we made reservations. It was about a 10 to 15 wait to get our table. Our server took our drinks and appetizer orders. The drinks took awhile to arrive. We got the zucchini chips which were tasty. We ordered 2 large ordered and got a free small order with Unilocal check in. After we waited placed our entrée orders, we waited about 45 minutes and I notice the table next to us that came after us has gotten their food already. Maybe because they were a table of 2 but we ordered way before they sat down. Our entrees still hasn’t came yet, we were then given bread. I forgot they offered bread, I guess they dropped it off once they realize how long it’s taking. The server didn’t say anything to us bout the wait. Our food finally gets here, I had a turkey burger and it was okay. The chopped salad tasted just bitter to me. The poem chop and steak wasn’t bad. It just felt our server was pretty MIA after taking our order. The best service I received all need night was when she offer to split our bills for us. Unfortunately, probably won’t be back. The food, service and overall experience was just mediocre.

I’ve been to Roxy for Happy Hour a few times and I’ve always enjoyed their cocktails and awesome appetizers but this time I came for breakfast and was blown away! I ordered the Farmer’s Omelet and a bloody mary. The bloody mary was awesome and had just the right amount of spiciness! The server noticed how I didn’t eat much of my omelet and asked if anything was wrong with it. I told her that I just didn’t really like it. Without me asking, the manager came over and made sure I was okay and they comped it off the bill. I was very impressed that they took care of me like that. Next time I’ll choose their breakfast burrito. My friend ordered that and it looked really good. Roxy has amazing food, drinks and service! What more could you ask for?!
