I’m so grateful I can even write this review!
Where, albeit the slight hoodness, can a place where the elderly come and hang out and do fun things to keep them entertained?
I only generally come here once a year, but this year it was twice. Every Wednesday before Thanksgiving, Cal PERS hosts a Thanksgiving lunch for the people who frequent this center. They cook and provide all the trimmings for everyone (kudos Cal PERS staff). We volunteer by cooking, serving, and cleaning for the center. It’s a great atmosphere, fun to interact with the patrons, and support a local community center. which are few and far between these days!
My other random visit this year, was for their Bunco fundraiser. Bunco seem so intimidating to many, but it’s the easiest game to play, I swear! $ 20 buy in, but you can also win cash prizes at the end. They also offer a raffle and some super cheap wine (via drink tickets)! A great fundraiser for sure!
Happy to donate my time to this awesome center, you should think about it too… I dare you…
