I was with my mother and sister walking around the mall as we passed by the Sweet Factory. The worker was passing out free gummy samples so of course we stop and taste what they have to offer. The first time we passed by we were able to forgo going in the store and moved to our next destination. As we were walking back, we passed by again. This time a different set of samples were being handed out. This time my mother and sister could not resist. $ 16 later and two bags of candy we were set. Sweet Factory has a pretty good strategy to lure customers in. Sure convinced us! I liked how they had a sugar free section. Since I don’t really eat candy and try to limit my sugar intake, this section we perfect for me! Located on the second floor of Arden Mall between Victoria Secret and Macy’s.

I try not to eat too many sweets whenever possible, but it is a hard vice to avoid. Now, normally I wouldn’t stop into a store like this and quickly walk past without a second glance. But recently I was in need of some special kind of candy in a particular color that I was planning for my cousins wedding. This shop is rather small in size, but they cram as much sugary goodness they can fit into each square foot. Most of it is displayed in bulk, clear containers so you can see what you are getting. Just grab some plastic bags and fill at will! Then, weigh them on a scale and pay the«per pound» fee. A lot of the candies are organized by color for ease of selection on those themed, color coordinated occasions,(or if you just like the color). But on the day I entered this place, it was pretty busy. Children AND adults were practically pushing their way through to get past my slower, browsing pace. It almost seemed surreal to see how these people were quickly grabbing candy like it was some addiction! I was only able to make a quick circle in and out of the store. That’s when I realized that this wasn’t my thing. Just say NO to sugar highs!

There’s a Sweet Factory in every mall, isn’t there? Seems like it to me. I know we have one at our local mall and I never take my kids there because I know it’s expensive. But because we’re on vacation, I let them go wild and we went in here. I wasn’t expecting to get anything, but I saw that they had sugar free stuff, so I got a bag too. My favorite is this sugar free chocolate with coconut thing. I went back to this store to get another one. That’s how much I liked it. In fact, I might go one more time before I leave this state. It’ll be a good snack on the plane. So I can’t really rate on anything else. My kids love it and they eat the candy, but of course, they have no concept of cost. I think it was $ 11+ for a pound of candy. They have a good variety, and lots of interesting candy/toy combos. If you like sugar free, check out the selection. It’s not as varied as the regular kind, but at least you can have something to snack on while your kids are munching on the real thing.

We always stop by sweet factory whenever we’re in arden. it’s kind of a ritual to us. This time however, we stopped by so we can sneak some candy into the movies(I know. super asian) but hey! I rather have a variety of candy to choose from other than the boxed candy they have at the theater. granted their prices are pretty expensive($ 8.67 for barely 1⁄8 of the bag filled) I guess it’s worth it being able to mix and match the candy you want.
