Service was great. I got the Eggs Benedict waffle which was excellent. My food came out pretty fast. My potatoes were a little on the cold side. My Bloody Mary was probably one of the best I have ever had. We sat outside because inside was too hot.

Visiting from SoCal and found this place on Unilocal.Glad I made this choice for my first time here. Customer service was excellent. Ronald was our server and even the managers were present to help out and converse with their customers. Honestly couldn’t choose from the menu they all looked good but I chose the Benedict Arnold and Johnny Appleseed. Both were amazing in presentation and taste. Each bite full of flavor I wish I could eat more. Definitely will come back and recommend this place.

You have not lived until you’ve had the Waffle Experience… and that is an understatement. So, my Brunch Experience consisted of great ambiance… we sat under the shade outside… it was quiet… perfect for great conversation and food. Our waitress was personable and witty… and the food was truly outstanding. I ordered the Farmer in the Dell with French Fries and an Odwalla Mango Mimosa. First off, the ketchup… off the chain! I wouldn’t mind having some of that ketchup at home. Secondly, the Mimosa set the mood, was tasty… and allowed me to look at Mimosa’s differently. Now, the meal… country fried beef with sauce…2 eggs over easy(or how you prefer to have them)…a little arugula… all on a waffle. I can’t even explain the flavors… and I loved that the chef has incorporated fresh arugula in the meal. Truly an experience… will definitely come again and recommend to friends and family.

Tried the Bananarama and Benedict Arnold and both were so damn heavily!!! The waffles were soft and crispy on the outside. Warm and delicious when you but into it. I love how the batter isn’t one I have tasted before and wasn’t overpowering either. The flavors complimented each other well and I will return!

This place is amazing all around! I had the Nectarious B.I.G. Waffle topped with nectarines, compote, whipped cream and other fancy & delicious stuff… Jakey got the Farmer in the Dell(fancy chicken fried steak with gravy over a savory herb waffle) with side of crispy potatoes… We also decided to try some mango mimosas which our waiter told us were made with Odwalla juice and they were dangerously delicious! Wonderful, quality food and incredible service– our waiter(Raymond) had great wit, attention and was just really welcoming and we could tell he genuinely enjoyed working there. We had such an awesome experience that we spoke to the manager(Jeff) to just give him our praise… He too seemed like a great guy and superb boss! There was about a 20 minute wait, but it was so worth it! The ambiance is fun too… I just can’t give enough accolades to this place! Great work all

If you are looking for an ULTRA slow dining experience at the SPCA, then this is the place for you. Too many damn dogs on the patio area for a meal! The wait was entirely too long for the food you finally recv. The flavors are there, but everything else is a major miss. The service is schizophrenic. We seriously had 4 servers for one meal and still needed to repeatedly ask for items. The biggest miss of all was the«Praise the Lard»… There is nothing worse than flat our COLD lard! The food is not made to order which is a disappointment. Additionally, the sweet waffle doesn’t have an ounce of sweetness! This is not a place I would keep on my rotation. Simply not worth the drive to nowhere land. Skip it and just got to IHOP!

My waffle experience was above average. Food was delicious but didn’t blow my mind. Service was good. I ordered Praise the Lard. Good portion for a brunch — didn’t come in hungry and didn’t leave super full. $ 15. I highly recommend folks to try this place at least once if you have time. But coming from elk grove, I’ll stick to brunch in downtown.

This is an amazing little place that we went to in Natomas. I’m a little sad that there isn’t one closer to me, but I guess that’s what makes this particular place, unique. The items on their menu has descriptions listed with the terms: organic, local, etc. which caught my eye because that’s really important for me now that I’m watching what I eat. The hours are short so don’t forget to check them before going because it’s not opened all day, though I wish it did so I can eat thiis any time of the day :) I wanted to try everything on the menu because they literally have anything from everything here with waffles. You have your sweet waffles that’s loaded with fruits, whipped cream, and/or ice cream. Then you have a variety of unique plates such as their infamous waffle like sandwiches and burgers. Not to mention anything that’s a little more fulfilling like their Praise the Lard plate. One of my faves because it’s one of the best pork bellies I’ve ever had. Also, I had one of the best waiters. Haven’t had service like this in a long time AND she was very knowledgable with the dishes, recommendations, the history of the place, the owners, and refilling of our waters. water refills are really important to me too lol Will definitely be back especially since they have a pretty spacious outdoor seating area too.

If you’re indecisive about brunch, choose waffle experience because you’re definitely in for an experience with their waffles! We had a party of 8 and didn’t want to risk waiting, so we called when they opened that morning and asked for a reservation at noon on their patio. When we arrived, the place was packed, so calling in definitely saved us a lot of time! Our server Tara came out and she was so friendly and helpful. She told us about how their waffles are made with a dough rather than a batter, so to not think about light and airy waffles, but to expect more of a bread-like texture. Everything on the menu looked so great, it was hard to pick just one! Their Praise the Lard(house braised pork belly, egg, arugula, roasted tomato, ricotta, on a waffle), We Found the Beef(grass fed natural beef patty, bacon, white cheddar, onion jam, etc between two waffles), and Farmyard Foghorn(honey buffalo free range chicken, bacon, bleu cheese, arugula, shaved onion, basil aioli, between two waffles) stood out the most. With each fish, they ask whether you want 1 egg or 2, and what side you would like(potato squared which is basically cubed potatoes, or fries, or fruit cup). We went with a number of things(refer to photos) and everything tasted amazing. First off, their mango mimosa is a must… they use odwalla juice and it tastes amazing! Their Praise the Lard was definitely a winner even though everyone’s dish was great. The pork belly had so much flavor and it was just so tender, it makes my mouth water just writing this. The waffle was also really good, definitely on the more bready side rather than the light airy kind I’m used to, but since they are more sturdy, they did well with holding all the food they put on top of it. The potatoes were done well, both as fries and as cubes. All in all, this place is a really awesome brunch spot!

Food: AMAZING! Every single dish that my party had was delicious. What really stood out was the«Sacramento King». Salmon was fresh, the waffle was crispy, and vegetables were insanely fresh. Service — 5⁄5. The owners and the head chef are such genuine people who truly strive for customer satisfaction. Atmosphere — 5⁄5. Check the chalkboard menu for specials UnilocalTIP: make sure to check the hours! I believe they close at 3 some/most days!

Food is really good and more filling than I expected. Service was a bit awkward. The server kept asking where our guests were and seemed genuinely annoyed that we were waiting. But here were some people came out to check on us a few times. Only other complaint were the 3 kids seated behind us that made me feel as if I were at Chuck e cheese and not for a nice brunch out.

Walked in for Sunday brunch and was greeted/seated right away. You can choose between indoor or outdoor seating. The staff was friendly, wonderful, and attentive! «PRAISETHELARD» — Do you ever eat food that looks better than it tastes? Well, this looked amazing AND tasted even better than it looked! This dish comes with the waffle, pork, egg, and a choice of a side of fries, potatoes, fruit, or salad. The braised pork belly was soft, tender, and juicy. I had the egg sunny side up and it was a perfect combination of flavors with the pork and waffle.(Their waffles are the deliciously dense kind of waffles.) I chose the fries as my side order but they were a bit on the oily side. Next time, I’d choose the fruit. «COFFEE» — It was okay. I think the mimosas would’ve paired better with the food. Definitely coming back!

Came here for brunch on Saturday. Wasn’t a bad wait for a table surprisingly. We sat outside and weather was nice that day. Food took forever to come out though. I had the Benedict Arnold. Presentation was beautiful, but it wasn’t that great. It was drenched in that Chive Grain Mustard Hollandaise sauce which ruined it for me. Maybe, sauce on the side would’ve been better. I did enjoy the side of country potatoes which was served in a glass mason jar. My other two friends had ordered Praise the lawd and Farmer on the Dell, which they seem to enjoy very much. Overall, just ok for me.

I wasn’t a big waffle person, before. The Waffle Experience is definitely a must-try. My girl & I stopped here for brunch and there was a 40 minute wait however that was the only bad part of the experience. Our waitress was very caring and genuine. The food was delicious and different. And it was fairly reasonably priced. The coffee was kinda burnt though; minus 0.1 stars. You can customize your order however you like though which more than makes up for it. They also have Pepper Plant sauce, mmm!

Now that I’ve been here three times, I feel like I can give this place the review it deserves. Every experience I’ve had has been amazing, and I can say that this is one of my favorite brunch places in Sac. Let me start off by saying that these waffles are not your typical waffles. From what I learned, these waffles are made from a bread dough, so they have a thicker consistency and are a lot more savory. Seriously, every WAFFLE I’ve had has truly been a different delicious culinary EXPERIENCE. Praise the Lard(house braised pork belly, cage free egg, arugula, roasted tomato, ricotta, cracked pepper agave syrup, lardon studded herb waffle) If it’s your first time here, GETTHISONE! The pork belly is perfectly cooked, and it’s some of the best meat I’ve ever had. We found the Beef(grass fed natural beef patty, cherrywood smoked bacon, white cheddar, savory onion jam, arugula, tomato, shaved onion, basil aioli, fresh herb waffle) Again, a great waffle. The meat tasted amazing, and I believe that has won Sacramento’s best burger award? So, basically, IT’S GOOD! Benedict Arnold(house cured canadian bacon, cage free egg, kale, apple compote, chive grain mustard hollandaise, apple infused herb waffle) This was also a great waffle, but I would recommend the other two waffles over this one, unless you LOVE eggs Benedict. I usually get the fruit or the potatoes as a side, and the potatoes are divine. Super crispy, but soft on the inside. I can eat them all day… I haven’t tried any of their sweet waffles yet, but I’m sure they are equally as good, if not better than the savory waffles! I do have to say that the location is very strange, being in a strip mall in the middle of nowhere… But I feel like that’s what makes this place feel more special. Service is great, the manager frequently walks around to ask for input and to provide information, which I really appreciated. To summarize this long review: GREATPLACE. WORTHYOURMONEYANDTIME.

My waffle experience was just OK. A ‘generous’ 3 stars… We arrived to a packed house and a 10-minute wait for seats. A few minutes later, we were called and seated at the bar. We weren’t given the option to wait for a table; but I suppose we could’ve asked… so let’s call it even. Anyway, we ended up at the bar. It was a cold day so the heat from the kitchen in front of us and the cold air circulating behind us made sitting there uncomfortable. We’ll survive. Another 10 minutes later, the waitress came by and asked if we ordered. I thought it was an odd question being that we still had menus in front of us. I asked for a mimosa and was given an eye roll and a whole lot of attitude as she said, «what kind!!!» Whoa, and hello to you too lady! They have mango and strawberry mimosas…(what, no orange?). So, mango it is. I went on to ask for a Sacramento King and again with attitude, she says, «Well, I’m not taking your order right now.» Ummm, ok, Sunshine. A minute later, another waitress came by to do the whole song and dance over. This time, without the attitude, our beverage and food order was taken. The food was good. The $ 15 Sacramento King is a smoked salmon, sliced hard boiled egg, caper cream cheese, cucumber, tomato, onions, and arugula sandwich with a sliced, cracked pepper herb waffle. You can have it with fruit, potatoes, or French fries. The creamy cream cheese was the glue and goodness of the entrée. All of the components seemed fresh except for the waffle that was really hard(downer!). When I think of a waffle, I imagine it to be warm and fluffy with a touch of crunch. Their food has a lot of potential and may bring me back; but I really can do without the eye rolls and attitude from unhappy employees. Next time, I’d opt for a weekday visit and ask for a softer waffle.

Excited by the drool-inducing photos on Unilocal,my friends and I made plans to «experience» the waffles here for Sunday brunch! The interior is cute, with a giant chalkboard in back where there are a plethora of tally marks(presumably customers who frequently dine in?). Unfortunately, we did not expect the establishment to be so small, made even smaller by the rain outside which limited outdoor seating. We planned to have a party of 11(I know!) but made the mistake of not making a reservation — ended up having to postpone our brunch by 1.5 hours. Would definitely recommend making a reservation for large parties — they take them! The menu is waffle-HEAVEN, with waffle sandwiches(and even a burger) to a waffle benedict and other savory and sweet waffle dishes that you can’t find anywhere else. Each has different waffles infused with different ingredients — so cool! Most of the entrees come with your choice of potatoes, fries, fruit, or salad. They also have different flavored mimosas to spice up your brunch a bit. I was in a savory mood and ended up getting the We Found The Beef, essentially the waffle burger, with country potatoes. The burger was delicious, LITERALLY dripping with juice and flavor, and the waffle«bun» was surprisingly sturdy. The potatoes came in an adorable jar on the side, and were fried to crisp(addicting) perfection that had you digging inside the teeny tiny jar to get the last bites. My main complaint was a disconcerting little eyelash(?) hair that I found stuck in a part of my waffle. needless to say, I did not eat anything near there… Our waitress was fun and energetic, and the food actually came out fairly quickly considering how many people we had. Was everything worth a 1.5 hour wait, though? Maybe, but it was a bit overrated as well. It’s probably a better place for a couple to come by themselves for a nice brunch date. I still enjoyed it though, and IFONLY I had enough stomach space to have a sweet waffle after savory — guess it’ll have to wait until next time, or you’d be rolling me out of the restaurant!

They don’t discriminate over here… Sweet & Savory, you pick what you are feeling that day, that meal, or in that moment. Luckily for me, I am a savory breakfast type of girl. I enjoy the random bites of sweet here and there, but I’d rather pick that off of someone elses plate and devour my own savory plate. Funny thing is, I was watching the kitchen mill about as I waited in line and I knew exactly what I wanted. Before I perused the menu. Before I watched the two TV’s that showed the line in the kitchen in real time(cool by the way). I saw there was some version of Chicken Fried Steak, which was exactly what I was jonsing for that day. I actually called ahead to see if they take reservations, but they only take them in advance if your party is 6 or more. He said I should be good by the time I got there(from the Grid) and we actually ended up timing it perfectly. The three of us were seating really quickly. This is the smallest spot they could have decided upon. And given the fact that they are always busy, wear short sleeves, cause it gets HOT in there. All the people, the kitchen so close to the dining area, and the hot coffee make for a warm and toasty atmosphere. The staff was really sweet, I couldn’t say a bad word about them if I tried. The hostess(ish, because she may have been a server too) sat us fast and was really sweet. The our server(who’s twin was also working) was super nice, complimentary, and answered all of our questions. He was really sweet to our girl and brought her animal cookies, but checked with us to make sure it was okay beforehand! I went with the Farmer & the Dell, J went with Strawberry Fields, and L went with«Just a Waffle». The kids menu was a tad too fancy and we just wanted simple waffles for her, so we didn’t order off that menu. I will say that, they might want to try offering a simple waffle, just for the sake of them being a waffle spot. Everything doesn’t have to be fancy and boughie! My dish was amazing. I’m not a huge pepper fan, but I went with the pepper waffle in my order. It was a little much in a few bites, but it really didn’t hinder the taste of the dish. The gravy was delicious and I could have actually used more on my plate. I actually felt like their gravy was slightly healthier than other places, but I could be completely wrong. The chicken fried steak was cooked to crispy perfection. The only sad part was I asked for an over easy egg and I think my dish sat there a little longer than expected, because the yolk was cooked by the time I received the plate. I pulled out the yolk and made do, so it wasn’t an issue at all — but it would have been nice to have the runny yolk all over the place. The potatoes were only okay too, they are cubed really small, which wasn’t my fave. They did cook them ‘well done’ to my order and I really appreciated that! J and L both liked theirs, although J had to make some amendments to his dish. The blend of flavors was really complimentary and tasty. The dish was kind of small, in comparison to mine, but still tasty. L’s simple dish with caramel drizzled on the plate was good. I was a little worried about the ‘espresso caramel’ but it didn’t bug her at all and was light on the espresso flavor. It was really tasty and she didn’t ask for syrup at all. Their coffee is only okay. And by okay, I mean pretty strong. But not in a strong, eclectic way. Just a strong, kinda cheap flavor. We drank it, but it wasn’t our favorite. The experience was good and although I’ve only been once, I can’t quite give it four stars yet. I’m very interested in trying the We Found the Beef dish. And maybe coming for a dessert waffle someday, but I’m glad I finally checked this spot of the«to try» list. It was worth it, but I honestly don’t care to pay for hormone free country fired steak, just seems like an oxymoron to me. Waffles without syrup, what a novelty idea!

Local favorite(but not mine)… Just had to try this concept of meat, chicken, or salmon, eggs, or veggies on waffles as I’ve tried it only with butter and syrup. Came here on a Sunday morning to get that ‘waffle experience’ so here’s how it went down. We parked our car and walked up to restaurant… there were already a crowd gathered outside waiting to be seated. I inquired inside how long the wait would be and the hostess said that it would be around a 45-min wait BUT! we could be seated immediately if we sit outside on their patio. [consulted my group of 4 and they said ‘okay’]. There were two heat lamps being used on their outdoor patio but it didn’t do that well for us as it was somewhat windy aside from the already February crisp weather [actually January 31st was our visit]. We really didn’t want to waste any more time looking for another place to eat as we were about to head out to San Francisco for another ‘experience’ the Super Bowl 50 City! «Cy“[rus] was our server and he quickly tended to our table as to get us in and out our merry way. We had servings of hot chocolate and coffee then we ordered our breakfast. I had the Benedict Arnold [Canadian bacon, egg, kale, chopped apple, and mustard hollandaise on waffle]. It came with choice of potatoes or fresh fruits. It was okay… it must’ve been too cold for me outdoors to enjoy my food but it didn’t hit the spot. Maybe I should’ve ordered my second choice which was Praise The Lard. I did enjoy my hot chocolate and the wait service was excellent and fast. Before taking our orders Cy mentioned that their waffles were made from French brioche dough. Um, okay. Thank you? I thought $ 13 for my meal was a little pricey and the portion isn’t even that big… it’s mostly waffles. Clearly, this place needs to find a more spacious real estate to accommodate their followers. It was just too crowded. It would be nice to accommodate everyone inside their restaurant on cold months. I want to be fair, though, and come back and try something from their lunch menu, preferably to eat my meal indoors. I enjoyed reading the quotes and sayings on their wall(towards the restrooms). This establishment is located in North Natomas. The restaurant is at the end. Look carefully… you might miss it. It is among other shops and service businesses. There is ample parking in front and towards the side of the building.

My inner fat kid was awakened this weekend and I ended the foodie 3 day weekend with a stop at The Waffle Experience. I’ve had this place bookmarked for sometime but never really make it a point to come to Natomas as I try to stay as far away from work as possible on the weekends. That may have just changed after eating here. For starters, the staff here is great. They really make it a point to interact with the customers and are really on top of things while you’re dining. Being that we came on the Valentine’s Day weekend, I decided on trying one of the specials they had on the menu named«The Babe». This waffle consisted of marinated pulled pork, a grass fed beef patty, 2 slices of bacon a sunny side up egg over a bed of arugula. The aioli sauce was a great touch that added the right amount of creaminess to an already flavorful dish. From the first bite, I couldn’t help but to savor each and every bite. The combination of the bacon mixed with the beef and pulled pork made for a combination that is meant to be experience rather than explained. I will be the first to say, that this item needs to make it on the permanent menu. Jess had«The Pig Latin» since she wanted the spiciest item that they had. As I only had a few bites, I can’t really give you a full breakdown on the dish but it also had a great flavor to it l, with a bit of a kick. She paired this with a Bloody Mary per usual. I actually had a few sips of the Bloody Mary and was impressed. I’m not a huge fan of Bloody Mary’s but I could see myself ordering one from here in the future. This visit was the perfect finish to an amazing foodie weekend. And when it comes to deciding on a weekend breakfast/brunch spot, The Waffle Experience will be the first place that comes to mind.
