Been here a few times but just don’t understand if you want to be a japanese restuarant serving sushi maybe you should stick with Japanese ways of making food. Shocked when I ordered shrimp tempura and there wasn’t any panko breading used to make it. The dipping sauce wasn’t right either. just soy sauce. Ordered some rolls which were average, little bits of the seafood or fish stuffed with lettuce. Im no expert but lettuce? Fairly fresh fish but the amount of rice ratio was too heavy. I dont blame the chefs… its always management trying to save a buck. Rice was too hard too. I guess this style works for some people but if im paying high prices for japanese food i expect to get Japanese… not chinese take out battered fried style Tempura.

We came here before and like the place and left 5 star. But after today’s experience we will never be back for sure. Not sure where to start… For some reason me and i boyfriend forgot that they had an liqueur license so we brought a bottle of wine with us. As soon as we were seated the guy came to us and told us they do have liqueur and we are not allowed to bring our own. We understood and said OK, no problem. After he left he came back and repeat it that we cannot bring our own bottle and we said OK, we got it in the first time and he told us we need to take our bottle back to the car???(What!!!, Why??, it is not even opened) Later waitress came to take our orders I asked them if they had Kani Salad since i did not see on the menu.(They only had crab and avocado salad on the menu). She said yes they do have it. I ma kani salad lover but some sushi places make it spicy that i don’t like much so i told her i don’t want spicy. My salad came over few lettuce pieces and super super spicy, when i told waitress that i asked for mild she said«just mix it with the lettuce, it will be fine??? «(what a nice customer care), and they charged me same money with crab avocado salad even tough they have 5.95 avocado additional charge(!)…we also order some tempura rolls and they were roasted over the oven counter i guess because they taste like a gas and was bitter a lot and of course when we told this to the waitress she was like«really, it is weird» and she left… I can’t believe i didn’t leave the place in the beginning and left her a tip at the end!!! Never again, such a weird stuff and bad bad food!!!

We only ordered sushi and it was okay but I’ve had better. Once you’ve had great sushi you don’t want anything less. I was told their menu was great so next time I’ll try their food instead of sushi. I do like the staff & service. I’d give 5 stars for that alone.

This is a fun spot with a bunch of friends. The hibachi selections are typical but tasty nonetheless. What I really appreciate about this place is the excellent ventilation– you really don’t leave smelling like hibachi all that much. Make sure it’s someone’s birthday and they’ll bring to the table a large deep fried ice cream to share! Yum!

Let me start off by saying the service was really good, and our Hibachi chef was awesome, but the food itself was lacking flavor. The Korean style beef was dry and was lacking the garlic flavor as advertised in the menu. I did not try the sushi, so I can’t say if it was good or not. They did bring us a free dessert, they thought it was someones birthday, but none of us said it was anyone’s, lol. The dessert was actuallly the best part of the meal, the fried ice cream was awesome!!!

The place is awful. It was lunch time during buffet, I picked seaweed from the dishes and the person making the sushi grabbed it from my plate and told me not to take any seaweed cause it’s not for the customers. I guess they didn’t expect anybody would take seaweed but why would they place it besides the foods on the table? It was probably for display but it was so rude to treat a customer like that! Besides, the service, the waitress’ are often standing there watching TV pretending not to care! The food is expensive and worst– not delicious!

I was really impressed with this place… the atmosphere gets an A, with a beautiful fish tank dead center of the dining room. I also liked how quickly our food was prepared. Most sushi places take up to 45 minutes for the rolls to come out. Our food was ready in less than 10 min! As far as food taste goes… the sushi boat we ordered gets a B+. Fresh fish, but lacking that extra special something. Overall, I give this place an A–

Been going here since 1996 the food has definitely improved. Staff is attentive. However the sushi fish doesn’t always seem fresh, it’s a hit or miss every time I go I never really know what to expect. Hibachi scallops and shrimp always do please me though. The fried rice and noodles are always good when they don’t burn them. But fun family place

More«Just OK» than A-OK. On arrival we were greeted immediately and all staff was extremely pleasant. This should not really surprise as we had the place virtually to ourselves. There was one other group of people at one of the other Hibachi tables but that was it. I ordered the the«fried» Beef Gyoza as an appy. I generally love Gyoza, it’s one of my favorite things at these places. But not these. First of all, I assumed«fried» meant«pan-fried.» My bad, it didn’t. It meant deep fried. Basically some tiny Japanese empanadas. And I was not thrilled with the taste of the filling in these. I had the Clear Soup sans the tofu with was fine. For an entrée I ordered the Chicken with Shrimp from the Hibachi menu along with a side of Fried Rice. The hibachi and fried rice were both prepared well and the flavors were fine. And the chef was really pleasant. He was talkative and seemed to be having a good time showing off his skills. My issue with the meal was they were a little light on the proteins given the price. I don’t mind paying these price even for an «OK» meal but I do mind walking away from it hungry. So, as I said, over all not a terrible meal nor one that has me jonesing to return.

Came by to eat at this restaurant for the first time. I just recently moved into the area and am always into local hibachi restaurants. I opted out of the entire hibachi experience and was here for sashimi and sushi. We ordered a sashimi combo which had enough fish to fulfill our craving for sashimi, but obviously wasnt enough! Sashimi was pretty decent, fish seemed fresh and the quality of the meat was okay. I did not have high hopes when coming to this restaurant because of the location and size. I was pleasantly surprised, as they had a banquet room, hibachi room, and regular dining as well. There must have been a huge party going on because throughout our dinner we would hear kids screaming and playing. Although it didn’t bother me much, it definitely made having a conversation very difficult. I have no idea why the servers left the doors open in the banquet room when it was that loud! they should have atleast asked their patrons to close the doors so that people enjoying their dinner would not be disrupted, especially since the banquet room doors are right in front of the hibachi tables. They had a pretty decent selection of rolls and dishes available. The next time I venture out to this restaurant I will probably go for the entire hibachi experience and see how that is.

This place has a lunch special which an absolutely bang of a deal! If you’re a fan of Japanese, this is a great place where you can a little bit of everything and stuff you face without breaking the bank. The lunch special is somewhat small, but it’s quality food served in a buffet and hibachi style. There’s also a sushi bar where they serve a nice variety of rolls, so overall it’s a fantastic deal for the price! This place is even better for dinner or a la carte dining, but the best value by far is the lunch special.

I have been coming here since the early 2000’s and it has not changed much. Same buffet, with the same items. Usually fresh but once in awhile you spot something that does not look too great. Service is good and the prices are reasonable but the place needs some updating in both the décor and offerings.

I came here on a week day for the sushi buffet. The inside looks all kinds of crazy, and slightly disorganized. I was surprised they had a bar in there, but they do. We were seated immediately and directed to the sushi buffet, and asked what we wanted for Hibachi. We declined the hibachi for the time being while we figured out what they had in sushi, first. I will first say, I’m no sushi connoisseur. I’m nt very brave, I just try the basic. However, I have been to a few sushi places, and I will compare to those. I have to be honest, they weren’t all the freshest I have seen. They looked like they had been out for awhile, soI picked very few. On my friend’s second go around at the buffet, they def. had fresher options, and I tried a few of the basics. I will sometimes order actual raw fish, but being a buffet, I chose to just go with basics that are not raw. When the waitress came back the second time, we took her up on the hibachi order. I had noodles and the chicken(which apparently is really korean chicken, but I had no idea) It was good. I enjoyed the hibachi side of the restaurant the most. What sells this place has def. got to be the buffet and it’s price. For the two of us it was $ 35 — which seemed prety reasonable for a buffet, especially one located in Bergen County. I would def. return, but I may order a lot more from the hibachi side then of the sushi buffet side!

I reviewed Arirang’s hibachi in Mountainside yesterday so coming here today literally was a back to back comparison. We had a group of 12 so we were placed in the special room. PROs: — food is great, better than the average hibachi especially the salmon steak — private room is available for large parties CONs: — waiter and cook are fairly detached. Not top notch in the entertainment area, which is 40% of the reason to go to hibachi. — no military discounts Would I go back? Probably not since the prices are expensive $ 24+ please refer to the menu

This place located in the heart of Saddle Brook needs a do-over. Still the same furnishings from years ago, or do they just look old? Made a reservation for a Thursday evening and just a few people to be found. It wasn’t my first choice either but with Xmas traffic on the highways in this area I didn’t want to spend an hour getting to one of the finer dining establishments in Paramus. Even though I had made a reservation and hardly anyone was there they made the entire process feel rushed, constantly asking for dishes when I wasn’t done(yes I’m a slow eater) and asked me 3 times for check payment. note. Food was fine, it was fresh although the same for the last 15 years. I favor the zombies and they don’t skimp on the alcohol content. Would rather go elsewhere next time

This place is hard to review, because it has so much different stuff going on…some good, some not so good. Sushi: good. Not great, which would be ok, but the prices are high. Sushi lunch buffet: Good sushi, and a really really great value at $ 15. Hibachi: pricey but decent. Hibachi is often more about the show than the food anyway. Service: fair, servers are disinterested but not rude, they are are available but just seem rather dead. Space: seems smaller even then you would guess from the outside, but it could just be that it is poorly laid out. Isles are narrow, and the space is dark and poorly lit. Décor is just ok. I would give this place a 4 star for the sushi lunch buffet, and 3 stars for everything else.
