I came with pretty standard expectations for the bar/dining scene in this area, and was pretty surprised by the end of my time here. If you’re not into craft beers or don’t really know what tickles your fancy, you might get off to a slow start but you can try the beers on tap before you order so just have a little patience. I loved industrial décor and long communal tables, it really makes the place feel open and welcoming. Aside from the extensive beer selection, the food is also really good! For 6 people we ordered the Mac and Cheese Wontons(daily special), Bacon Clam Pizza(sans potato), Las Carnitas Pizza, Churro Fries and Avocado Eggs Rolls. The wontons were actually really good! Cheesy on the inside and crispy on the the outside but not to greasy. Of the two pizzas, the Bacon Clam was the favorite by far, the flavor was just on point. The Carnitas pizza was ok but it was really just a taco smothered in sub par guacamole, which isn’t what we had intended. Avocado Egg Rolls were good, I personally enjoy the contrast between soft avocado and crispy wrapper + chili dipping sauce but some others weren’t impressed — to each his own. If you have a sweet tooth, the Churro Fries were a hit at our table. Definitely above average bar food, and great atmosphere. There is additional space on the second floor and cool outdoor seating so I can see why this place is a hit.

First time here. Cool atmosphere. Great bartenders. Great beer selection. Had some flights then made our way to the huge bottle list. Everything we ordered was delish: home made tots, Mac and cheese wonton, guacamole Egg rolls, Mac and cheese with bacon pizza, clam and bacon pizza, loaded potato pizza and white pie with bacon(obviously they love both cheese and bacon here haha). My favorite was the guacamole egg rolls, the Mac and cheese with bacon pie, and the clam and bacon. 5⁄25: second time here. This time I came with my wife and infant and it was just as good of an experience. We sat outdoors since the weather was great, they brought out a high chair, and she was able to make as much of a mess as she wanted. All the food was great again. Our waitress was good and definitely running her butt off. And the beer. We can’t forget the beer. They had a great list of drafts tonight including just released brews for the season. Butttt once I placed my eyes on Maine Lunch(rare to get on draft) I couldn’t look any further. I’ll take one of those and follow that up with a refill please

A poem to Plank Pizza, by Rebecca S. –_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_– You had me hooked from the start with free samples of craft beer, a generous offering that makes me smile ear to ear. Your bountiful selection is always on point, this is what made you my new favorite joint. Workers are down-to-earth, friendly and knowledgeable; the welcoming staff is so very hospitable. Your outward appearance is just as admirable. Light fixtures made out of kegs? You’re both creative AND fashionable. Although your closing times are earlier than most, that’s my only complaint within this whole post. Now for the food — though menu is petite, you have many options which can be made without meat. Everything I’ve tried has definitely been great, I’m planning my next visit cuz I seriously can’t wait. It’s impossible to pick which I think is your best feature. What I’m trying to say is: I love you, Plank Pizza.

What a cool place to get drinks. The staff is awesome. The menu is overwhelmingly(if that’s a word) good! You can chose from 4 or 8 flights. We chose 8 flights each for $ 15. There are so many different types of beers to chose from, it took a while to decide which to get. The bar food is delicious, especially the loaded potato pie.

I came here for an event my friend threw upstairs in the loft and it was awesome. The minute I walked in a lady approached me and when I told her I was here for a private party she guided me to the top floor. As soon as I got to the loft I looked around and really liked the whole décor and ambience of this place. Right away O’ryan and this other server(I’m so sorry I don’t remember her name) introduce themselves and for a second I thought they were part of our party since they were so friendly. They asked if we wanted separate bills which I have never heard of any other place doing with a large group. This makes everything super easy at the end when its time to pay. Now lets talk about the food I got to try the avocado eggrolls, bacon, mac & cheese wontons, carnitas pizza and loaded potato pizza. I really can’t rave enough about all the dishes but as always I have to pick my favorites and I’m between the avocado eggrolls and loaded potato pizza. I could have ate these two things all night, they were superb. I cant talk about the beer since I don’t drink beer but everyone around me seem to really enjoyed.

My friend talked highly of the apps here, so I met up with him during happy hour last week for half off apps. Their happy hour ends at 7 pm, but I’m not sure what time it starts. We both don’t drink much(and I hate beer if I’m being honest haha), so we didn’t taste any of the beers they had but they had a huge variety — one page of draft beer and at least 3 stapled pages front and back just for bottled beer. They also have 5 – 6 kinds of wine on the menu as well as cream sodas and lemonade. — Cajun wings: Flavorless and nothing to rave about, but the accompanying sauce was good. — Tater tots: Definitely the tastiest app we got! It was especially delicious with the queso sauce it came with. — Sourdough pretzels: Ours tasted uncooked. Not even the queso sauce helped, and cheese fixes everything! We politely asked our waitress to take it back then we ordered 2 more dishes to share. She was extremely understanding and accommodating about it. — Avocado egg rolls: I guess they’re good for what they are, but having nothing but avocado in an egg roll is quite underwhelming. — Carne asada tacos: My friend and I couldn’t decide on whether we wanted steak or pork, so we told our waitress to give us the one that was more popular and she gave us steak. They were decent, but again, nothing special. A slice or two or lime probably would’ve been a nice addition. The service when we first arrived around 6:15 was very quick and attentive, but as they got busier throughout the night, we rarely saw any wait staff in our area. It took nearly 10 minutes for someone to refill our waters and another 10 minutes for someone to bring back our cards once we paid, but our waitress was very nice when she WAS around and took the pretzels back and took them off our bill without giving us a hard time, so we gave her 20% anyway. I’ll definitely be back to try the pizza since that’s the food they’re known for, but I’m glad we took advantage of half-off apps during happy hour. When it comes down to it, this place is a beer garden and based on their wide beer variety and how busy it got, this is the place to be for beer lovers.

This place almost received a 2 – 3 star. I made reservations a week in advance and showed up 10 mins before that time. A few of my friends showed up even earlier than that. It was for my bday, about 15 of us, including a kid and baby. And they gave our seats away. Are you kidding me? We tried to be cool about it but after 20 minutes of them just saying«I’m sure someone will leave soon… not cool. They had the whole upstairs open but apparently no one to serve there. Finally my bf told them he didn’t care, we were going up there and that he would come down himself and get everyone’s food and drinks lol So yea… we went up there and they did find someone to serve us after all. I figure the server probably realized table of 15, jump on that tip. And she was great, always helpful. They did forget 2 of our dishes, but it was for the best, we didn’t need it. Food was real good. Except the Tator tots. I heard all the raves about em but they were way too dry. Avocado egg rolls… YESSSS. I tried the white pie, Mac n cheese pie, wings, pretzels… all were yummy. The beer selection as I’m sure you’ve heard seems endless. I had a fruity harvest all night the guy recommended which I really liked. I’ll def come back, they redeemed themselves.

A fellow friend/yelper spoke highly of this spot. So «Why the heck not!?» We came in and she was greeted by an enthusiastic staff member. We were told to sit wherever we want. Off to a good start. next we tried a sample if the Mango Magnifico. what a great beer, it had a touch if spiciness to it, I’m all for sweet and spicy! I decided to get a flight of some other beers worth mentioning but the Mango was my favorite. For starters we ordered the Avocado Egg Rolls, I was happy with this considering it wasn’t overstuffed with avocados and messy. I love me some avocado but people over do it, this place did it just right. Next we decided to get kid’s meals, which doesn’t happen at all but luckily we got a great courtesy. My opinion is allow everyone to get it maybe if they want a snack, it comes with a pizza of your choice and 4 Tater Tots. Again, amazing!(Especially with the cheesy beer sauce) My friend got the veggie pizza and I ordered the Bacon, Clam pizza. Had a nice crunch to it, and the flavor combo maximized it’s awesomeness, without over powering one another(consider clams and bacon have a salty variety to them) Can’t wait to come back and try something else when I’m in town! PS if the adults cant have kids meals, make something like one. Gives you a small little bit of both, ehich is perfect if you aren’t too hungry.

My husband and I frequent Plank Pizza often, with his 30th birthday fast approaching, I thought, what a great place to throw him a party! From start to finish the staff at Plank made everything so easy! Andy, the owner, was the easiest person to work with. I have thrown my fair share of parties, and he was by far the nicest, most easy going person to work with! We set up their upstairs room, which by the way is perfect if you’re looking for a laid back, casual back drop for a party! It’s private, yet, you still feel part of the bar. It’s open, lots of seating and a lot of open space to mingle. The party started at 7, and from the minute the guests(all 45 of us) started to arrive to the minute they left a good time was had by all. I had ordered a whole bunch of food in advance(apps, pizzas, etc). The food was so awesome that within minutes everything was gone. So, I ordered another round! I’m not talking an app or two, I’m talking about 15 apps and 18 pizzas! I have to give a shout out to the kitchen staff who, on top of being slammed, and I mean slammed on a Saturday night, they were able to pump out all the food for our party in no time! So kudos to those guys! Did I mention how delicious everything was? Dave, our server, man needs a medal! He did an awesome job! He must have gone up and down those stairs with drinks easily 150 times! He made suggestions and recommendations for those guests who didn’t know much about craft beer. He was knowledgeable, personable and pretty freaking awesome. Don’t move to Nebraska! I’d also like to give a shout out to Anthony, who, as fast as that kitchen was pumping out the food he was running it upstairs to us. Making sure we had plates, napkins and glasses! So thank you! All in all everyone had a great time, and it wouldn’t have been possible without the staff at Plank! So, thank you! If you haven’t been here yet, you’re missing out, really though, their beer list is exquisite, their food is awesome, the atmosphere is fun and laid back and the staff, they hustle, so go check it out.

Finally came here for a big event, MYOWNDAMNBIRTHDAY. and have been back twice since then. Over all, this place still has a high rating in my book. Im giving it only 3 stars this time because i hate how often they run out of food and another complaint about the heat by the loft area. read on… I had excellent communication with the management about reserving the top loft area for my birthday. I had roughly 25 to possibly 30 people at one point throughout the whole night. I worked out some specials for the evening for my guests. Downfall for loft area – the heat. At the end of january it was close to 85 degrees up here and apparently they couldnt turn on the air. They did have music playing for us. As it comes to food, this place ran out of things through out the night which really sucks. Also it was a friday night and really packed, so certain apps came out very very slowly. however, the service that night was great otherwise, beers were brought up… menus were laid out… area was clean and the servers kept trying to attend to us smoothly. not to mention our bills were completely organized, 25ish drinking people and big checks? they were not messed up once. Since then i came back for another birthday, about 15 people in the bottom room. My friend is terrible at planning things but the big table in the middle was enough for us. Service was fine that night and food came out in a perfect time. Now, for the biggest update. A whole new menu it seems! they added a salad, kids menu, and check this even a dessert. I can live without their dessert… the churros are fried a little too much but i commend them for adding this. The kids menu seems perfect, a small pizza and 4 small tots. Sold. I will try this next. Oh and get this, a whole taco area. Although the tacos are only meat based, i hope they add one veggie people can eat. Which brings me to the next suggestion – throw in a veggie based pizza. Although most of the pizzas can be adjusted i think with their creativity they can create something intriging for us non meat eaters here. I hope they get the food supply issues worked out since they run out of food often on weekends, also i hope their draft selection branches out more. Id like to see more ciders and stouts. However, i still love this place and I feel for a place that hasnt been open even a year, this place has done very well considering a few kinks.

If a half star existed… it would be a half star too much. First of all… great concept, great feel to the place. But it needs some SERIOUS help all around. It’s small. The upstairs was closed for a private event… that we still didn’t see attend even after we were still there an hour and a half later. There are a couple longgg tables and some 4 people tables. It kind of makes it hard to seat groups. We had a group of 7. We got there and just kind of stood by the door. There is no specific«wait area»…no seats to wait… no stools at the bar to wait. We just stood and waited. When someone finally came up he said it would be about 25 min. It was around 5:30 on a Saturday… not too bad a wait time. We were seated… and forgotten about. brought menus… and forgotten about again. Ordered our pizzas and drinks… and brought half our drinks. Had to flag down a waiter to get our waiter to bring the rest of our drinks and wipe up stickiness on the table that was never wiped down after the last group of people. The pizzas are small and expensive with no option to get larger pizzas to share as a group. They were different, and good… but for a pizza place to not offer large pizzas to share? Come on. We ordered and waited what felt like forever before we were brought our food. We were still missing one plain kids meal. Our waiter never came to our table once to ask how we were doing(we could have told him we were one short). We tracked down 2 other waiters to ask about the missing meal. 35 minutes later still nothing. I went up to the register where my waiter was checking someone out and told him we needed the last meal and a check. I waited at the«bar» to bring it to the table myself. The tater tots it came with were raw potatoes. Like, raw CRUNCHY potatoes. The pizza itself was pretty good, however I ordered the«loaded potato» without bacon and my dad got the regular«loaded potato» with bacon. When they were brought I asked which was which and the waiter just kind of guessed. «Uhh this one probably doesn’t have any». He guessed wrong. Over 100 dollars later and a line practically out the door we booked it out of there. So disorganized, so rude. There is no reason flatbread pizzas should have taken so long to make. They need to figure something out. With the amount of time we waited for our food and then our waiter there could have been another 2 groups seated and gone. Cool concept, failed miserably. Our uncle had told us the check it out for him and his family and his fire department guys… we went to his house after for dessert and told them about our terrible experience and now he will not be going.

Finally came here for my friends birthday. From the outside this place looks small, but don’t let that fool you. It’s pretty spacey inside. Huge huge selection of beers on draft, bottled and canned. There’s literally a book of bottled and canned beer. They change up their drafts weekly, but still have a pretty sizable selecition. On the food menu they have a variety of apps and handcrafted sourdough Flatbread pizzas. I ordered the bacon clam pizza, it was so good but they forgot to put the shredded potato on it :/. It was missing that crunch. The beers I had that night were super good. Stone saison and Joe and oats. Some popular apps seemed to be the avocado bites(avocado eggrolls) and the homemade tater tots. I want to go back to try the apps and some other pizzas… maybe the loaded potato pizza. There’s plenty of parking, only thing they do close fairly early on the weekends, at midnight.

Welllllll plank pizza we finally meet, I have had food taken out from here before, but my chance to dine in has been finally fufilled! I came her on a busy Friday night for a bday party for my friend, Desiree, a fellow Unilocaler and elite. She booked the upstairs loft to hold her party of I’d say about 15 to 20 people. First off super hot. Like roasting like a chicken hot upstairs. We were all complaining. They opened a door, did not help much. Could of turned the air up, but did not. Second, organization of seperated checks was a HUGE plus. The waiter had a tablet and took everyone’s name and matched their choices accordingly. This, I liked! As far as bringing everyone out their food in time or correctly, nope. Some people, including the bday girl waited a while for some plates while others didn’t! Most people ordered one or two small plates and shared with everyone. Because of this i was able to try a few different things. Chips and gaucamole and 2 other dipping sauces one was a cheese one and the other was a garlic one. The gaucamole was just right, I would order it again for sure. I was not a fan of the other two sides though. Too much salt in the cheese one and too much garlic in the garlic one lol. The chips were deep fried I believe and were tasty! Then I tried the avacado eggrolls. Even though I loved the gaucamole I wasn’t a fan of these. They were just too bland, and warm. I don’t like warm avocado, it’s just wrong. That being said I wouldn’t get them again. Then I got my own pulled pork pizza, it was delicous! The pork tender, juicy and full of flavor. I know the pizzas here are considered more of a flat bread pizza but I think this one would have been better on a thicker crust. My pizza looked limp from the weight of the pork lol. There have been other times when I have tried the food there and I was impressed by the uniqueness of the pizzas. One was a macaroni and cheese pie which was omg so good, the other similar to baked potato with the works on it, chives, bacon, and other yummy things! All in all the food is fabulous! But thats not all this place has to offer! They offer like a million craft beers on tap! The list is exstensive and interesting! Beers def not my thing but I was tempted to try a few. I tried cranberry beer that I loved. Also a friend offered me a sip of an espresso beer which she loved, as did others at the table. I wasn’t a fan tho lol. Then there was a beer called banana bread which sounded interesting, I will have to try that next time! Regardless there are like 5 pages of beer choices. I highly recommend trying this place if you are into beer. All in all this seems to be an up and coming place. I would say 90% of the crowd here was people in their early 20s to mid 30s. It was packed! I will Def be back for a date night with the boo.

Came here for dinner and some drinks. A huge selection of craft beers on tap. You are able to sample different ones before you choose your pick. As for the food, we ordered the bbq pork pizza, the avocado egg rolls and the spinach dip. The bbq pork pizza was phenomenal! Very flavorful and hearty. The avocado egg rolls I didn’t enjoy. It was filled with guacamole — I was expecting just plain avocado. Something about it didn’t work for me but my friend loves them. Finally, and I saved the best for last, the spinach dip. It’s served in a sourdough loaf and comes with super salty pita chips(which I liked a lot). The dip itself was out of this world and paired with the chips and bread — even better. Prob the best spinach dip I’ve ever had. All in all, I was very pleased with Plank. The atmosphere is cool — has a bit of a woodsy yet industrial feel to it. Menu isn’t extensive but it’s quality. Def a greasy fare — don’t come here if you’re dieting. I’d come back for sure!

Finally a place that is more than your average pizza/beer spot in the area! Very fresh and hip, definitely bringing in something new to the neighborhood. Came here after work one weeknight and almost missing it since it’s kinda tucked behind a strip mall(hint: it uses the same entrance/parking lot with the Dynasty Buffet). Gotta love the vibe here. The décor is very beer-garden-ish with the outdoor benches and the lights. Very loooong list of beer options, there’s definitely something for everyone. Food-wise, there are few pizza and apps options. The pizza here comes in a stretch-y oval shape which gives more bite-size cuts. Mac n cheese pizza is a must try!

After seeing all the great Unilocal reviews pop up, I knew I had to check this place out for myself. It definitely lives up to the great expectations. It’s a bit hidden by other buildings, so you need to know that it’s there to be able to find it. But, the parking lot is huge, so no worries there. They have a huge, covered outdoor seating area, which was closed the night we went, but I’d bet it would be a really sweet place to relax and grab a beer when the warmer weather returns. I also noticed a corn hole game propped up against the wall. When we walked inside, we were promptly greeted and offered our choice of seating. We were at one of the long hi-tops in front of the bar, so the hubby could get a good view of the massive Draft Beer Menu and all of the taps. It’s a pretty sweet setup. They have 41 beers on draft and wine is on draft as well. Beer can be ordered by the glass or as a flight of 4 or 8 beers. In addition to the taps, they easily have over 100 more beer choices in bottles. I went with a pint of St. John’s Brewing Tropical Mango Ale. It was pretty good. It’s not my typical choice(I prefer lagers), but it was a solid beer. The hubby ordered a flight of 4 beers and was rather satisfied. Beer can also be filled in growlers to take home. The restaurant has a rustic, industrial vibe. And it really suits it well. It was minimalist yet, but the wood accented walls and the light strands and hanging kegs really warmed it up nicely. They have wooden utensils, rather than metal. I guess they don’t trust adults with metal silverware. The bathroom(I can only speak for the ladies room) was clean and super modern with subway tiles, an Exelerator(love!), and a trough sink. The food menu is somewhat limited with your choice of only appetizers or pizzas. That being said, what limited food they do offer is done right! We elected to order two appetizers and a Plank Pizza to share as we wanted to try as many options as possible(without having leftovers). We started with the Tater Tots and Avocado Egg Rolls. OMG! The tater tots were handmade, crispy, and delicious. The Avocado Egg Rolls were crispy on the outside and creamy perfection on the inside. We also had the BBQ Pulled Pork Plank Pizza. The flavors on this blended perfectly. We’re definitely looking forward to a return visit to explore more of the menus(both food and beer). My only suggestion(and the reason why the coveted 5th star is missing) is that they need to add some lagers to the draft beer. The draft beer heavily favors IPAs. Yes, I get that they are extremely popular at the moment, but that’s the kind of beer that you either love or hate. Add the lagers and this place could easily be 5 stars in my opinion.

I really love this place. It opened out of no where and has become my new favorite Saddle Brook spot. It’s a clean and inviting restaurant with an affordable and frequently changing beer menu, friendly servers, outdoor seating, beer flights, delish food… They are even adding on to their outdoor seating now to make it look nicer. The one area I would seek improvement would be to add some healthier variety to the menu as opposed to all fried options but maybe with time that will be something they come around to.

I’m back for my update as promised! If you would like a more extensive review please read my previous post. Came in to Plank’s last night after being extremely disappointed in another new local bar that will go unnamed. I can always count on Plank’s to have that awesome«local bar» feel that makes you comfortable but with a new modern and vibrant take. I love this place. Since my first review they have stepped up their game tremendously and really have adapted. This place had no hype behind it’s opening or anything and they are absolutely killing it. Food: Pizza tasted better than it ever has! Beer: Practically the entire menu was different from the last time i came here. I LOVEIT Service: Pizza ran about a 6 – 8 minute ticket time, Fantastic! Also the employees i can tell have become much more knowledgeable on beer and extremely attentive to the customers at the tables. Establishment/Specials: 1. They are currently doing construction on their patio so it will be closed off and can be used practically 12 months/year. Genius. 2. They have beer flights 3. They’ve implemented a happy hour that specifically targets their craft bottles every day. So smart because the bottles i feel are left out sometimes, everyone wants a beer off tap! They’ve made a way that you can enjoy an expensive bottle in an awesome place for a cheap price. All the little things they were slacking on originally have been replaced and refined and this place is absolutely worthy of my 5 stars. This town needed a place like this!

Pages and pages and pages of beers, it’s beer heaven here! I came in last Thursday for a bite and drinks with my sister. Plank was a little bit of a challenge to find via GPS but definitely well worth the struggle for me. Inside there is plenty of seating and they even have an area upstairs. There are over 40 different beers on tap and another 100 or more bottles organized by type of beer to choose from. You can get flights at 4 for $ 8 or 8 for $ 15 which is awesome. You can even take some beer home at half price if you buy a 6 pack(yes you can mix and match). Most of the beers are domestic crafts but they do have some imported beers as well. Beer selection is amazing! They even have some hard ciders and wine for all you beer haters out there. On to the food, the menu is pretty simple and straight forward which I liked, not too overwhelming but there are definitely a lot of interesting menu items such as the mac and cheese wontons. We ordered the mac and cheese wontons, avocado egg rolls and the french onion and pepper pizza. The food came out quickly and I loved their environmentally friendly wood utensils. The avocado egg rolls were delicious! I have to say I wasn’t overly excited about the pizza, I wish they had a more traditional margherita pizza. Maybe i’m just being boring but I am intrigued by all the pizzas and will definitely be back to try the others. I have to say I loved the vibe of Plank. It has a casual feel, great for some afterwork happy hour! You can tell the owners really took the time to make this place great, love the logo!

Okay where to start… Craft beers on draft in a spacious industrial setting with yummy bar food and good service — yeah this is where I want to be after a long week! Atmosphere: Spacious, almost beer garden vibe. A few outdoor lunch tables and inside they have a few different styles of seating. My boyfriend and I opted for the high tops by the windows. There is a HUGE sign that says Restrooms in red lettering with bulbs above the bar, which is kinda strange, but hey you won’t get lost after a few too many. Service: Very nice waitress, super personable. Also recommended some good stuff. Beer: Lots and lots of craft brews on draft. I tasted the 077XX Carton and it tasted like the most perfect crisp IPA, yum! My boyfriend ordered the 12% Founder Devil Dancer — it was also delicious. Food: SPINACHDIP. Let me tell you I don’t normally enjoy spinach dips when they’re warm, but damn this one is fab. It comes in a delicious loaf of bread too! I enjoyed the Los Carnitas Pizza a lot. I didn’t care much for the Bacon Clam one. Overall I think this is where Plank could use some work… they have only a handful of items and they aren’t really diverse enough. I would beef up the menu and add some less bready options.
