Good service, great food & great drinks! The pizza is awesome and I love the sweet & spicy wings. All the food is coal fried and unique. They have a back patio and two inside seating areas. Very casual and great neighborhood hangout

Second visit was the same as the first. Virtually no table service on the patio out back. Sat for a time. Server provided a menu and that was the end of it. She never returned. We left and returned home. Last time, it was almost the same deal. We eventually got a teriffic pizza. 8th ave pub is no longer on our food radar.

Love love this place! I’ve tried everything on the menu and have never been disappointed! Some of my faves: teryaki wings, pub pie, white pie, buffalo chicken dip, meatballs and the list goes on. Full bar and awesome staff!

Went on a Tuesday night for some pizza and a drink with some friends. BESTPIZZA around! I’m usually not a fan of the coal fired/brick oven pizza around here, but theirs is fantastic! The waitress we very sweet and fixed our order for no charge when the kitchen mixed it up. The bathrooms were super clean as well which is a plus. There is a small outdoor area with tables and high tops and tvs. Can’t wait to go back for more pizza!

This bar/restaurant gets only one star for one simple reason, the carelessness and sheer greed of the rather matronly, blonde haired manager. I had a five dollar bill and five one dollar bills before me on the bar as I ordered the first drink of the evening. The blonde(whom I can only assume is within the managerial capacity as she was delegating authority) grabbed ALL my cash for a $ 6 drink. Figuring she would return the four dollars extra I said nothing, then watched in complete amazement as she stuffed this four dollars in her tip jar. Seriously, if this is the way she earns her tips, she needs a lesson in class and decency. Guess she figures the patrons owe her; I will never return. And, what a pathetic bitch– she never even said«thank you» for this four dollar tip which she basically stole from me!

After a night of music in St. Petersburg we decided to head back home. Home as in Palm Harbor. On our way we decided to stop for a bite to eat and 8th Ave Pub seemed like a good idea… at the time. They were crowded when we got there due to some of their own live music but we were able to find a seat anyway and were quickly given menus by a young lady who we presumed would be our server for the evening. We put in an order of house wine and she was quick to come back with our wine and to see if we had any questions about anything. We ordered a pizza and asked if we could substitute items and she was very obliging in allowing us to do so. The pizza came out quickly and was nice and hot. That’s where it went downhill. We sat for at least 15 – 20 minutes waiting for our girl to come back to see how everything was. Meanwhile our glasses of wine sat empty. Multiple servers walked by to clean nearby tables but our girl was nowhere to be found. When she did show up after the notable absence for 15 – 20 minutes she asked if we wanted anything else, we did but our pizza was finished and she had been gone 15 – 20 too long. When we confronted her about this she told us she was outside… doing what, nobody knows. Sad, sad, experience. We love coming here for the good quality of food and live music but after this experience it’s doubtful we will come back late in the evening when we want a bite to eat. Food was excellent, service sucked.

Comfortable atmosphere, friendly service, good food! Good mix of clientele — primarily townies/regulars with some tourists sprinkled in. Small with indoor and patio seating. Happy Hour specials 5 – 8 on a Sat night. Menu is primarily pizza oriented with some apps and salads. Ordered Margherita Pizza with side salads. The side salads were great — large, nice greens mixture, and homemade dressing. The pizza crust was thin and ‘flat’(more like a good pita) and loaded with fresh tomatoes and basil which made it awesome. They have musicians playing covers starting around 9-ish on weekend nights. Thank you for scheduling music at an appropriate time(can’t stand listening to loud cover bands while I’m eating dinner, okay with it while I’m drinking). Will be back!

This place had a decent selection of beer the bartenders were nice and attentive, and the food was absolutely amazing for bar food. I ordered sweet and spicy wings and chips and queso, and they did not disappoint. I will definitely be back. Only suggestion would be to increase the draught beer selection.

The best pizza ever! A few friends have recommended this pub for their pizza and we weren’t sure that a pub would have good pizza but we were suprised. They have a great pizza oven that cooks the pizza to perfection. We prefer the pub pie which has all of your favorite toppings but there are other options. Great atmosphere and usually they have great local bands. But have the pizza!

Ventured in here for the first time last night and we were very pleased. The happy hour pricing on beers is great! $ 2 bottles and fireball on special. We ended up ordering food and that was good too. My fiancé really liked the wings, although they would have been better if they were crispier. The meatball sliders were surprisingly good and the macaroni and cheese was amazing! Yes, we had to wait for drinks at times but it was very busy and it was clear our server was running around, but we would go back for some happy hour beers and I want to try the pizza!

Yup. This place. Love it. I’ve been here twice now and if it were closer, I would surely be going here a lot more than that. First time we came before a concert at Ruth Eckerd for a quick beer or two and we really liked the outside atmosphere. There’s a TV outside and a cool patio. Second time I came I revisited this lovely outside land due to a groovy little band Phish playing on that large TV. Thank you 8th Ave. This place is so awesome, yes, for having good and fair priced drinks, but for having the Phish stream? Okay, I’m sold. I haven’t eaten anything but my pals had pizza and everyone was obsessed with it, so it appears as though they are good at food too. I was on a recent«sober» kick for a quick minute but I saw a margarita go by and we all turned our heads and said we had to have one. Margaritas draw me in but this one just looked wonderful. End of sober kick. The margarita was delicious!!! Cool patio, cool place, cool margaritas, extra extra cool place because they stream Phish. Did I mention that? Oh, also, the owner, Mike is a super cool guy!!! I shall return!

Must have caught it on a bad night? Correction: must have caught it on it’s WORST night in recorded history. It was the unhappiest hour I’ve ever witnessed. All six of us walked out empty bellied, parched and antagonized. So glad this place hasn’t monopolized the late night liquor scene in Safety Harbor like I suspected! Thank goodness for Louise at Le Sardine at the Resort and Spa! I can’t imagine what an awesomer than this place it would be if they kept their beautiful new poolside tiki bar open late night. The night was saved with a simple phone call to Louise who welcomed us with open full liquor bar. 8th Ave, we’re over before we even started! Hope you found the tab you lost, it cost you quite a bit.

Ventured here last Friday for a little birthday celebration since they’re the only joint on the main strip with liquor. There were 6 of us, and we squeezed in at the edge of the bar where two vacant seats were. Not sure how long we sat there, but the band played 4 songs. Not so much as eye contact from any of the 3 bartenders. One was busy looking for something that was apparently lost or fell behind the counter. The other two buzzed around, half-ass helping her search and filling drinks at other spots on the bar. Absolutely no acknowledgement of us or our party. So 4 songs later, we walked down the La Sardine at the Safety Harbor Spa & Resort where we spent our hard-earned cash. Sorry 8th Ave, but you not only lost the few hundred we dropped down there, but you’ve lost all of our future business. It was ass-to-elbow in there, so I’m sure you guys DGAF, but money doesn’t grow on trees and my business has to be earned.

I am a big fan of the 8th Avenue Pub! They not only offer a wide variety of beers and cocktails at a fair price, but their pizza is the best pizza in town. It’s made in an Italian wood burning oven. I also love the honey bbq wings and many other things on their menu. It’s a great place that you should check out if you’re in Safety Harbor!

After watching Alton Brown create pizza on a HUGE mini bake oven, Anna M and I needed Pizza. It wasn’t a want, it was a NEED, so with our handy dandy spinner, we found the 8th avenue pub! This is located just off Main Street in Safety Harbor, Parking can be tricky if you’re not good at paralel parking, but Main street has a lot of open spots. The place is nice, the music is ecclectic and fun. When we arrived, it seemed as though the tender might give us a bit of attitude, but once we were seated, she warmed up and took care of us well. We ordered a pizza to share and I got a salad, the salad was delicious, crisp lettuce with cherry tomatoes, craisns and cucumbers and cheese. The dressing was on the side and quite tasty. The pizza was equally tasty. The toppings were generous on this Pub Pie: Pepperoni, Mushrooms, Onions, sausage and garlic. While I didn’t find it under done, Anna seemed to think it was. The location is set up to have live music and it appears they have a lovely outside area as well. Neither was active this night. Lots of local beers are available on tap! So if you’re a beer drinker, this might be the pub for you!

8th Ave is a great place for a drink or a bite to eat. They have a full liquor bar and really good pizza. Inside is kind of small, but nice. Outside is also small, but good for groups. All the bands I’ve heard at 8th have been very good. Bar service is always very good. The actual servers are okay… a it slow, but they’re always packed on weekends so I can understand.

What an unexpected delight this local corner pub turned out to be! Dianna B and I were craving pizza since we had just witnessed Alton Brown bake an alligator pizza in his mega bake oven at his show at Ruth Eckerd Hall. We turned to our favorite app, Unilocal,to help us locate a nearby pizza place. Unfortunately, not too many places were open late on a Tuesday, but we finally found the 8th Avenue Pub that was open until midnight. The 8th Avenue Pub is located in beautiful downtown Safety Harbor. From the outside, it looks pretty seedy. But, when you step inside, you see that the entire building was gutted and totally remodeled. Stephanie was our bartender/server tonight and was friendly and efficient. She also was the only staff member working the bar. Lucky for us, it was a slow Tuesday night, so service wasn’t too bad. We ordered the #5 Pub Pie which was topped with pepperoni, mushrooms, onions, sausage, and garlic. The pizza was a little undercooked, but it didn’t taste too bad. The bar is fully stocked with liquor and there is a huge assortment of beers on tap and in bottles. Unfortunately there was no live music playing tonight, but the bar is definitely set up for it. There is a back patio for outdoor seating and for smokers. I found their restrooms to be clean. Be mindful that the parking here is sparse. There is parking available in the street and spaces here and there, but no defined parking lot, to my knowledge. I could be wrong though, because it was late in the evening when we arrived and I couldn’t see too well. I enjoyed the laid back vibe in this bar and would definitely come back.
