I love checking out local breweries so I was excited when a few friends and I made plans to come here recently. I was left extremely satisfied with my first visit to the Crooked Thumb.
My boyfriend and I usually get flights of beers so we can sample quite a few before ordering a pint. They don’t do flights here, instead you can order a 4 ounce for about 2 – 4 dollars depending on the beer. We ended getting a belgian singel, trippel, IPA and DIPA. I loved them all but I was a huge fan of the trippel. Highly suggest it if you are into Belgian style beers.
This is definitely not a hole in the wall. The brewery was pretty big and had plenty of sitting area both inside and outside. You can only get a drink from the bar which wasn’t an issue since we went on a Tuesday night and it wasn’t busy.
I will probably visit this brewery again soon when I feel like being a beer snob :)

As a relatively new citizen of Safety Harbor, I couldn’t be more excited to have a real brewery in town. I love craft brews and I love the insurgence of craft breweries throughout the Tampa Bay area, but I don’t love all the breweries, themselves. Crooked Thumb, however is the real deal. They don’t need a soft opening, they don’t need to test the market and get broken in, these beers are perfect. The Atmosphere is cool, open and very relaxing. There is definitely no feeling of being squeezed in, like at some other places. Any beer lover in the Tampa Bay area is missing out if they haven’t tried a Crooked Thumb brew.

Still putting the finishing touches on the tasting room and the beer recipes, but this place has been very impressive since opening in late 2015. There’s a great variety of styles brewed onsite, and the guest tap rotation is excellent. Be sure to try the Trippel or double IPA if you get the opportunity.
