Cozy atmosphere, great menu, very friendly staff: The chicken barley soup and steakum panini was very hot and very tasty. Just a comfort food kind of place, definitely coming back on a nice cold day!

The food and the service at Tatros is top notch, you won’t find better in Saint Albans. I’ve ordered twice from them, the first was a massive roast beef sandwich which was so good I had to share it at work. The second was a homemade pulled pork sandwich which was just perfect. The owners, Gary and Lisa, always make you feel welcome.

I went here on 08⁄03 during a week-long vacation in Fletcher, VT with my boyfriend, my sister and her husband. We’ve visited St. Albans over the past few years and have always enjoyed the small-town feel of Main Street, and the unique shops with one-of-a-kind items. But I digress. On to the restaurant. I decided to order the Pulled Pork Sub(pork with cheddar cheese and topped with BBQ sauce). This was incredibly filling(I almost couldn’t finish it), but it was also incredibly delicious. The pork was tender and savory, with no fatty or tough parts, and the BBQ sauce must be homemade, as I have never tasted a sauce quite like this. It was equal parts sweet and tangy, with a hint of spice I couldn’t identify(paprika?). But it was awesome and finger-licking good. The space itself is roomy and comfortable for sitting in and chilling out, and they have a wide variety of sides to choose from as well. Too bad I didn’t have more room to sample anything else they had on display, but I can guarantee that next year, we’ll be back.

We’re in St. Albans a lot, but never stopped here. Decided to give it a try today. They have very delicious, daily soups and yummy sandwiches, which they also have some daily specials for. We would definitely recommend this place, and we will definitely be back!

All the locals must come here since they were lining up as we left the sandwich shop. We got a hot pastrami, Reuben, lobster salad and soup. Perfectly prepared and not full of fillers or fat. We read the reviews on Unilocal and we agree that this is a great little sandwich shop that does it right.

It’s a real treat to find an eclectic sandwich shop like this downtown. The space they have is inviting, it’s set up like any great deli with counter service and some tables and chairs for eating. The menu is enormous. I doubt there isn’t a taste they can’t cater to. The breads are very fresh and they don’t skimp on the meats. You’ll pay a bit more for the sandwich than other places but you get your money’s worth in freshness, choice of items and pure love of sandwich making. I haven’t tried the soups yet but plan to soon. Service is excellent as well. During the lunch hours they seem to have a full staff behind the counter hastily(yet carefully) making sandwiches and getting them out to waiting customers. They also offer warm paninis for these cooler days. If you need a sandwich around lunchtime and have a few extra dollars, I highly recommend a stop into Tatros.

Great service and great food. Nice place for a casual lunch. Lots of menu options and good prices. They have bathrooms. Coffee is green mountain. They have a great selection of sandwiches and pretty much make you whatever u want. I got a wrap called the big pig basically with a ton of bacon. Loved it. My wife got a veggie sub and liked it. Great lunch spot… Would definitely recommend and go back.

Amazing variety of sandwiches! The prices are all very reasonable. Around $ 7.00 for a full sandwich. They do offer half sizes. I tried the Reuben, and it was delicious. The portion of corned beef was quite generous, and the toppings were as well. One thing I will say is that the bread was a little thin and flimsy when compared the the amount of meat it held. Tatros has a beautiful selection of baked goods which are made in house. I was impressed with the size of the red velvet cupcakes that they were offering today– massive, and only $ 2.00. Minus one star because I prefer to be greeted by someone when I walk in. Since it was quiet, and I was the only one there, I would have liked the counter person to at least say hello and/or offer assistance.

I have never had a sandwhich at Tatros that I did not enjoy. They have a creative assortment of sandwiches, wraps, soups and salads. Everything is put together right in front of you with fresh ingredients. Try the chili – it’s served every day and it’s the best I’ve ever had!

The last time I reviewed I gave 5 stars but after a few less than 5 star experiences, I decided to update my review. If I hadn’t had such good experiences here before it would only be only three stars. There is a previous manager that used to work at the subway in st. albans that works here now, well as of last month, haven’t been here this month yet. But she is very skimpy on putting the fixings on the sandwich, which leaves me very disappointed because I really do love having decent amounts of lettuce and meat, like most would! Service isn’t good or bad. Toppings are still nice and fresh, bread is really yummy. Clean inside.

I’ve now had their Vermonter and the Italian Stallion sandwiches. They are both excellent. The italian sandwich is one of the best, if not the best, I’ve had since Philly.

Perfect service! My wife and I stopped by for lunch for the first time yesterday and we were both completed impressed! Food was delicious, the price was excellent. We got 2 six inch subs, 2 bottled drinks and a large seven layer bar that we split between us and paid less that $ 15.00. We have found our new go to place for lunch!

Tatro has saved my morning, seriously. As a recent transplant to the hustle that is St A, I needed a decent place for my morning snarf. Enter ze tatro with his crazy awesome breakfast offerings. No longer must I wait 15 minutes for a simple egg sandwich, nor do I have to deal with grey, overcooked microwaved messes. No, here I can show up and pick from eggs, cheese, and a large amount of mix ins. Shocked was I when he reached for a skillet and actually *cooked* my breakfast. I’m not gonna lie, a spinach wrap with eggs, cheese, veggies, salsa and guacamole is gonna kick any crappy day straight in the choppers. The aforementioned lunch service is still quick, painless and delicious. Try the Taterade for breakfast, you won’t be sorry… unless you steal all my guac, in which case, we’re going to have words.

I pass this place EVERYDAY and if I wasn’t such a stingy-type and a proficient cook I would eat here more often. It smells wonderful on warm days when they leave the door open. Last Friday there was a COMCAST outage in the building so I went to work out of Tatros, at least until service was restored. Tatros has wireless service, you know. I bought a coffee and worked until noon. I don’t have any qualms about sitting in Starbucks all day using their internet without buying much, but Tatro’s is a local store and the owner waves at me almost every day. I bought a corned-beef reuben for lunch and it was literally the best Reuben sandwich I could remember: inch-thick stack of juicy, flavorful corned beef, crunchy sauerkraut, fresh rye toast. Just delicious! Good prices, great selection of sandwiches, free internet… I’ll be spending a couple more days in here now.
