We came from Calif. to enjoy an evening with family and friends and listen to a great vocal ensemble. It was a very hot evening but that was no excuse for our waitress bad attitude and the seriously light pour drinks. When we spoke with the manager about this issue she had the same bad attitude. Comments from her included«Do you want to go over and watch him make your drinks» and I just don’t know what y’all want me to do. She never apologized or offered to make it right. Obviously the bad attitude our waitress had came from the top of the chain of command. The food was great and the ambiance was really fun. All 6 of us were disappointed with the staff. No customer service is practiced here!!!

Great place to go for ambience only. View is nice. If you go for drinks, I recommend wine only. Had a martini that was not what I ordered. Ordered Tito’s vodka and got Absolute. Food was not as listed on menu. Ordered fresh catch in key lime, tequila sauce. Came out baked with tartar sauce. When I asked about the sauce, the waitress brought out some sort of yellow gel. Maybe cold butter sauce? Who knows? The service, as well as the food, was very poor. The waitress did not check back and did not know the menu. I’m not sure if the problem is with the server or the kitchen. However, I would not recommend this place other than for a quick happy hour drink before dinner.

Finally got around to going to Creekside Dinery. The deck looked very nice and the music was good. However, we chose to sit inside because the hostess was kind enough to tell us the music might get loud and my husband and I wanted to actually hear each other talk. The food was good enough, if inconsistent. For example, the flavor of the breadsticks was good, but some were undercooked and doughy while others were overcooked and crunchy in parts. Some of my green beans were overcooked, but my cheese grits and key largo chicken were cooked fine. My husband’s meal had overcooked shrimp, but his coleslaw and sweet potato were fine. There are other places in town that I prefer, so I probably won’t be back. Nothing against this place, but there is only so much time and money and I prefer to spend it elsewhere.

Was looking for a place to have dinner last night and had heard about Creekside Dinery and decided to give it a try, and glad we did. They open at 5pm and we arrived at 5:12. It was already getting busy, so that was a good sign. We were seated immediately and waiter came by within 2 minutes to take our drink order. We really enjoyed the ambiance, service was prompt and good, portions were not super big, but that was ok, as I left full but not uncomfortably full. The meal was great. I had the blackened shrimp with snap, peas and cheese grits. We will return and next time plan on sitting outside and enjoying the live music. All in all, the place had a great vibe.

Delicious hidden jewel. Had the crab bisque for a starter and grilled mahi mahi for dinner. Both were superb. Breadsticks came out before the meals and the kids devoured them. Highly recommended.

When I was in school at UGA and in the band, we had our annual trip to Florida to play the Gators in Jacksonville and this was the go to place for my fraternity brothers for 4 years. The plank wish was always to die for regardless of the type of fish and the wine selection was not bad either. Though we never really had to pay for drinks since UGA alumni had an event every year on the night we made our reservation. Being able to sing and memorizing all the school songs from day 1 definitely paid dividends for years to come. Go try it, you won’t regret it.

What an amazing hideaway, I hope I don’t give away the location. But if you find this little gem be prepared to be amazed and the food, smells and ambiance. Enjoying my date vacation with Martina Lowe. I think she is happy though.

Ambience is friendly and homey. Not super chic and trendy but still nice to have a date night. Food was great — seriously some of the best oysters I think I’ve ever had! Drinks were strong… cheese grits are(again) some of the best I think I’ve ever had. We came at night, so I’m not sure how the view was, but judging by location on the water, probably beautiful. The porch area out back is spacious and I LOVE the fire pit and complimentary marshmallows for roasting! Unique! Staff was VERY friendly and super accommodating! A+ I will be returning!

Service was pretty lame and inattentive at the bar. Bartender was the kind of dude that makes you feel like you are there to serve him. I like sitting out doors, though, listening the blue grass band play music.

Been to St. Augustine many times… and could not believe I had never been to this place. It was AWESOME. I wish I could give it 6 stars. Everything about this place is great… Fun, drinking and listening to music atmosphere at the bar and deck. GREAT and very attentive service. Food was outstanding on everyone’s account. Difficult to decide what to get. Fresh fish, beautiful FL shrimp… makes my mouth water just thinking about it. Atmosphere is delightful with the creek, sunset, trees, and raccoon family on the shore. Not up for the outdoors, very nice interior to enjoy your meal a little more quiet and cooler(or warmer as it may be that season). Reasonably priced entrees and drinks. Parking is a challenge, but if you are patient, always someone leaving.

Awesome, Don Pedro came to me in dream to let me know there was at least one non-chain restaurant worth dining in, on St. Augustine’s 450th birthday. Unlike others, the appetizers are tasty(St. Johns Shrimp). Not Overcooked, no!!! Don Pedro agreed the TAPS are totally clean. The seafood succulent and lightly Fried. My daughter enjoyed the wild life: including the Animals, the Staff and the gentle Deck atmosphere with soothing music Man, child, and Beast alike. Glad to find a place that accepts all and is accepted by all.

What can be said about Creekside that hasn’t been said already? It’s the one place we always visit at least once every time we come to St. Augustine. The food is hot, tasty and plentiful. The outdoor deck is great, there’s usually a nice breeze blowing. On the weekends they have a live band playing out on the deck. There’s a family of raccoons that hang out down below the deck and the kids just love feeding them their leftovers. Try it for yourself, you won’t regret it and will come back time and time again.

Went here by mistake. Google Map screwed up on the place we where going to, and now I am glad that it did. First off it is very hard to find a bad place to eat in St. Augustine. We sat outside and I am so glad we did. They had 3 cats(that all I saw there may have been more) that were walking from table to table looking to see if they could get some people to give them some of the seafood that they were eating. There was also a great view of the I want to say river, but I guess it’s a creek(hence the name). We started with the fried pickles, which I am usually not a fan of, but they were really good. Unlike most fried pickles the batter stayed on the pickle after your first bite instead of coming off leaving you pickle naked. I got 3-ways shrimp, which is 4 Sarasota Stuffed Shrimp, 4 Fried Shrimp &4 Grilled Margarita Shrimp. It was all so, so good, I needed to stop myself from over eating, because we were heading back to Tampa after eating. This will become a staple of any time we come to visit St. Augustine and are wanting some seafood. Need to leave some room for desert next time.

It was mother’s day at 7:30pm. They usually aren’t open this late on Sunday, so it was nice to be able to make the reservation, especially sounds I called around 2:00pm this afternoon. We chose to sit inside and it was too noisy. They accommodated our change within 5 minutes. The scenery was nice and there was a live music performance. There were no bugs biting us even though it was dusk. The sunset was pleasant. The stuffed portabello mushrooms were good, you could see through the coffee, the shrimp were overcooked on the shrimp & grits, the bucket of steamed oysters were also well done, I heard the fried shrimp were good(coming from a shrimp snob), Service was okay. This was a below average experience. I’m sure we’ll return in the future, though.

Wir wählten: The Sloop = Blackened Shrimp, Scallops, Crab Cake & Today’s Catch. The Trawler = Mixed Grill of Shrimp, Scallops, Crab Cake & Today’s Catch. Duval County Plank Fish = Painted with a delicate mustard spread. Topped with crunchy breadcrumbs. Alles schmneckte uns sehr gut, es war gut gewürzt und nett angerichtet. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder — dieses für Florida typische Restaurant ist sehr empfehlenswert.

We came here specifically for oysters by the bucket. The price was reasonable but they were pretty small. We asked for them steamed. They came out way overcooked. We asked for lightly steamed on the second bucked — better, but again still too overcooked. We asked for the 3rd bucket to be even less steamed — they came out perfect. Service was good and the overall ambiance was pretty good with the rustic cabin décor. The small size of the oysters was the disappointing part.

A great place to eat in St Augustine. Took my wife here for her birthday. I got the Boathouse special and upgraded from the frozen Tilapia to the fresh caught Mahi-Mahi for just fifty cents. My wife ordered the Plank cooked Rib-Eye Steak and it looked and tasted fantastic. My Shrimp were cooked perfectly. The Scallops were the best I have ever had. The Mahi was fantastic. The Crab Cake was just average. The Coleslaw was very good and creamy. The Creamy Cheese Grits were an awesome must have. The Creekside opens at 5 every day, we got there at 4:45 and were the 5th party in line to get in when they opened. When we left there were at least 10 – 15 parties waiting to be seated.(hint … get there earl)

I think I would describe Creekside as a homey fish camp type of joint, and throw in a dose of Hemingway with all of the cats just chillin’ on the front porch. We ventured down south to meet some good friends for Mr. Unilocal’s birthday… he was craving fried chicken, I was craving oysters, and both of our wants were met. Very cool little bar in the back where we bee-lined to to get a drink before we were sat. We attempted to go out back to the fire pit(we saw people with the marshmallows!) but by the time we finally figured out how to get there, it was time to eat. We started with the Oysters St. Johns… Oysters baked with a sweet datil sauce, enough cheese to make your head spin, topped with bacon. As delicious as this sounds, they were a bit of a miss… it was like finding a needle in a haystack trying to dig out the oysters in all of the cheese, and the sweet sauce just wasn’t my thing. But, I did order more oysters, of the steamed bucket variety. A large bucket, to be exact. If you aren’t looking to draw attention to yourself, I’d suggest you pass on this… as it does come in a huge bucket, complete with gloves for shucking and all the proper fixings.(Butter, cocktail, lemons, horseradish) No saltines, but to be honest, the oysters were sooooo amazing, I didn’t even want any. Fresh, of good size, and perfectly steamed… I had the assembly line down: shuck, fork, dip, eat, shuck, fork, dip, eat until all but three were devoured.(couldn’t crack em!) They had a few Mile Marker brews on tap, which is awesome and my friends enjoyed a few of their specialty mixed drinks. We did feel like our group brought the median age down significantly… our reservation was for 8 pm, and by 9:30, we felt like we were closing down the dining room.(still some people out by the bar though.) You give me a good oyster though, and all is forgiven. I’d go back.
