Seafood Shoppe

Very nice selection of fish and shellfish. Pricey but that’s always worth it for quality. Picked up some grouper and snapper to grill and both were great. Will certainly be back for fish as well as local shrimp and oysters.

Nice fresh local seafood. Good friendly service ! You pay a little more than the grocery store but it’s worth it for fresh local seafood !

Before going over to my wife’s BFF to deliver her Mothers Day card we stopped here to get her a gag gift of a dozen raw oysters. It was just a nice seafood shop with a decent selection of seafood.

This is good comfort food. I love the fried pork chops. Oh my my mouth is watering already. Seafood is fresh and they have vegetables.

Yuck!, the bag of mussels I purchased there after buying fresh produce at Win-​Dixie to prepare a fresh mussels dish were so bad that on the way home our cars interior smelled awful, I mean really bad. I was angry to find ‘All’ the mussels floated when I tried cleaning them, It smelled up the whole house!, dead a week at least!, Rule one for a fresh seafood store is: Know the age of your Shellfish’, You can’t sell something from your cooler blind to the danger of giving food poisoning to your customers!, I should have reported them to the health department but no, Instead I got: ‘Yeah?’ Bring’em back… as if to say: ’ What do you want us to do?’ Heres what, follow Florida health rules, check & know your inventory & this wouldn’t have happened! Having failed on this magnitude, You ruined my trust in you that evening and my chances of making a fresh shellfish dinner, The rest speak for themselves… I WAS a good customer, not any more… EM

The smell of fish is overpowering. Duh. But the freshness (and pricing) isn’t too bad. It was $ 5 for a dozen oysters, $ 4.50 for a dozen clams, and $ 3ish for a ¼ lb of tuna.
The oysters and clams were spot on. Delicious and fresh.
The tuna was NOT fresh. I don’t suggest anyone eating this sashimi style. Better sear the exterior and season well.
However, I’d come back for the shellfish.

The timing of their deliveries is shockingly inconsistent, so always call ahead to see if they’ve gotten anything in that day. When they do, obviously, it’s fresh. The selection just isn’t as wide as I’d like.
Think of it as hit or miss… but always better than the Publix.
