Just alright. We came here with a friend who grew up in St. Clair Shores, but who now lives in Los Angeles, because she said the pizza here was the best she ever had. I guess times have changed and so has the pizza, at least according to my friend. As far as pizza goes, I’ve had better and I’ve definitely had worse, but this landed somewhere squarely in the middle of the pack for me. Our party ordered an extra large veggie pizza and some of Paisano’s special zesty bread. For starters, I didn’t care for the crust at all and for me, when it comes to pizza, it’s all about the crust. An inferior crust is the kiss of the death for a pizza. It tasted a little doughy, yet, oddly enough, was a little burnt around the edges. Maybe the dough wasn’t properly mixed beforehand? Strike one, right there. However, the vegetables were fresh and they certainly didn’t stint on the toppings, but it wasn’t «knock my socks off» great, either. I liked the zesty bread, though. That stuff is addictive. I was told it was great and it did not disappoint. Nonetheless, pizzerias aren’t judged by zesty bread alone. It’s the pizza that counts and it was just average. Even our old friend, Deb, who had so looked forward to a slice of her old favorite pizza pie, was let down by its mediocrity. She said, «Something must have changed in recipe or I’ve been away too long.» Service was okay and the price was right, so I couldn’t complain there. As for the atmosphere, it was where old school and kitsch met and fell in love. It was like an homage to the good old days of the classic small town pizzeria from the plastic checked tablecloths to the old school paper place mats. Deb said it looked like a time warp. Apparently, some things don’t change…

My girlfriend and I have ordered here many times since moving to SCS, but we went on hiatus after something changed in the pizza. Although most of their other items are very good(such as the fried ravioli and various breads), the pizza is «meh» at best. When neither I nor my girlfriend want to grab the leftovers for lunch,(we’ll arm wrestle over Detroit Style Pizza), you can tell we didn’t like the pie. We decided to give Paisano’s another chance last night and were disappointed that we did so. The crust is lacking both in flavor and consistency, the latter being that of generic gas station pizza crust. It was too chewy and like a dry biscuit with very little butter flavor or flakiness. This could also double as someone’s first time making pizza at home — the crust is very similar to the packaged DIY mix you get at the grocery store. Also, though the toppings were generous, the quantities of cheese and sauce on the pizza were laughable. The toppings fell off, not because they were sliding around on a molten bed of sauce and cheese, but because there wasn’t any cheese holding it all together. It wasn’t worth the $ 12.50 I spent on a small deluxe pizza. You read that right, $ 12.50 for a small deluxe; it’s $ 7.50 for a small cheese pizza, so they’re hitting you with a $ 5.00 up-charge for 6 toppings and very little cheese or sauce. I would have been happier(quality-wise) with a $ 5 pizza from Little Caesar’s. I’m not mad at the price, I’m mad at the quality I received for it and the disparity between the two. I expect better-than-chain pizza if I’m paying $ 12.50 for a small pie, not 7 – 11 or Chef Boyardee crust. Papa John’s and Jet’s both represent a better value for the price. We did enjoy our fried ravioli, small antipasto salad and bread. However, your side items should be giving jazz hands in the background, not starring in the show. All in all, there are much better pizza places in SCS. I don’t know if their website should keep making the claim, «Best Pie Since ’55.» I’d really love to know who they’re comparing themselves to, because it’s not to the better pizza in the area. Pretty arrogant to make that claim AND have it as your URL when your product can’t hold it’s own against a $ 5 Hot-n-Ready.

Their pizza is awesome. The chicken and ravioli are very good too. The staff is friendly and we highly recommend them.

We ordered the special, medium pizza with 4 toppings and a small antipasto salad for $ 19.99. The wait staff were very personal young ladies. Unfortunately that’s the nicest thing I can say. We all have different tastes and that’s what makes the world go around. The crust was like a cracker? The toppings we choose were spinach, mushroom, sausage and black olives. The pizza had a funny taste that we confirmed was the sausage and the sauce was straight out of a can. We went because of the reviews and we were extremely disappointed. We each had a slice and left the rest. We were beyond disappointed.

Good food, good wait staff, clean… The trifecta when it comes to Italian food this is the place to be… Everything is cooked to perfection.

After reading the reviews for this restaurant, I decided to give it a try. I got a small antipasto salad with Italian dressing and a small pepperoni pizza. The pizza has a good flavor to it and they use the little pepperonis. I would prefer the pepperonis to be a little spicier. But still, it’s a good pizza. The salad had a decent amount of toppings, which I love. I only wish the dressing was better. They use the packets. But i did get 2 of them, so that’s a bonus.

My first trip to Paisano’s certainly didn’t disappoint. We dined in, a little later on a Friday night. The only complaint I had was that the dining room was a bit dirty. Not«I haven’t been cleaned in ages», but more«I had a busy dinner rush and no one has had a chance to pick up» kinda dirty. We split the $ 19.99 Antipasto and Medium pizza with 4 toppings. The salad was great! Definitely big enough for two hungry adults and and tons of toppings and a good Italian dressing. The complementary breadsticks and dipping sauce were delicious too. The pizza had(in my opinion) the perfect crust… thin enough to please a thin crust lover, yet thick enough to appease a deep dish fan. The sauce and toppings were fresh and plentiful as well. I would definitely order a pizza from here again, even if just for take out! Don’t pass on the dessert. Cannoli this good at that price can’t be missed!

Every time I go here I have a pleasant experience. Their pizza is my favorite! The breadsticks are even good. They serve a lot of other things than pizza too, and all good quality and tasty. Friendly staff as well.

Ordered a carry out from here and was pleasantly surprised that the inside is very family friendly. The prices are not, but the food was pretty tasty. I would consider not even ordering pizza next time and ordering the cheese ravioli. It looked pretty yummy. The cashier was very pleasant and even added a coupon to my order to save some money!

Ordered this for delivery the other night because it’s so close to home. We ordered two kinds of pizza but I ended up sticking with the chicken alfredo because it was AMAZING. I don’t like to think about how terrible it was for me, because I can’t wait to get it again. Yum!

FLAVOR! Paisano’s has some of the most delicious pizza’s ever. Combined with the appeal of a 5 minute walk from my home, it’s no wonder why I never order from anywhere else. If you want a good quality pizza, or some other traditional italian dishes, Piasano’s really is a the way to go.

Great Italian food! I love the meat sauce, just like I remember from the old days when there were Italian«mom and pop» restaurants in every Detroit neighborhood!

Great pizza! One of my family’s fave spot, my hubby loves their ravioli with meat sauce. They have the best pepperoni, the little ones that curl up and get crispy on the edges. I’ve been going g to this place for over ten yeas, always great service dine in or cary out!

The pizza was flavorful, but the dough of the round pizza was not cooked all the way through. That, and I ordered a square pizza. I’ll go back.

Tried their pizza for the first time last night and we weren’t disappointed. With suggestions from the friendly staff on the phone, ended up with a medium pepperoni za with Parmesan crust and their breadsticks. Pepperonis were small and thick cut lovely little things that really made the pizza. You can definitely tell they use high quality ingredients and the crust was tasty and perfectly cooked. The breadsticks were plain, just garlic and parm but still very good. Will definitely be back and try some different menu items.

Driven past this place a million times and never gave it a glance. Hubs was in the mood for pizza, and looked to Unilocal for a new suggestion. Again, our local Unilocalers have never done us wrong! This is a small family owned place that has been here since 1955. It already has the beginnings of a place I will like… Service was amazing! Our server was very nice, every time she reached across the table she said, «Pardon my reach.»! No one does that anymore! :-D I only ate half my salad to save room for dinner and she checked to make sure there was nothing wrong with it. She was great! Hubs ordered his pizza. Small round with pepperoni and pineapple. No skimping on toppings here! Tons of toppings and gooey cheese! The pepperoni was really good. Not greasy, but it seemed to be a thicker cut. He really liked it. I tried the Chicken Parm and I have enough for another meal! Real chicken breast that is not hammered out paper thin. Lots of gooey cheese on the top. I really liked this place, I can’t wait to try a square pizza for carry out. We will be back for sure. Even if the food had been so-so(but it was stellar!), the service sold us!

I’ll start by saying the food here was worth the trip here. The service here was kinda shitty, when I asked how big the round small pizza was in inches, she just said its like a small pizza. Which didn’t answer my question at all. The bread was not bad, the fries were flavorless, the pizza was down right AMAZING! And the cannoli was really really good. I would say if you are getting food from here, just get carry out.
