Best Thai food I’ve found in Milwaukee. The Panang Curry is highly recommended.

A hidden gem. Food is excellent, seems very fresh & nicely prepared. Service was great, people are all very nice & accomodating. The Volcano Chicken lived-up to the hype & it is one of the best dishes you can get around here. My dining partner had an excellent dish as well. Price was average for any Asian restaurant, basically a steal for what you get here. If you aren’t satisfied with Milwaukee’s Asian food selection, you need to go here. I would actually go 4.5 stars but I rounded up.

I always forget about this little gem on the south side. Everything is so fresh and well prepared. Today I took advantage of the buffet which is out of the ordinary for me but even that was spectacular!

Referred to my a couple of friends from Thailand as the best in town and they weren’t wrong. Perfect, reasonably priced, and fast. Grabbed take out because our children are rotten :), but the dining room is beautiful. Host(who I’m assuming is owner) was soft spoken, concise, and happy to serve.

I decided that I couldn’t wait to write a review because I’m eating leftovers for breakfast from this place and it’s still so good. The MAJOR plus of this place is that they do takeout, it’s not just a sit-down restaurant. Yes pleased! We went last night, on Black Friday; not crowded in the least. Ambiance is typical, it’s neither here nor there. Waiter, although shy, he was attentive. Before I get into the food. The reasons why I rated this place 4 stars instead of 5 is: 1) This place is extremely expensive. Like, unnecessary so. Because my fiancé and I couldn’t leave without trying at least 2 entrées each, this hurt the wallet. For 2 people? One app, 2 entrées and drink will easily run you $ 40, $ 50 with a tip. So. They do a lunch buffet Tuesday-Friday. If you’re looking to try, but not break the bank, I suggest this. 2) There was a hair in one of my dishes. I didn’t make a huge fuss, I’m not that kind of person. I get that it happens, even though it shouldn’t. I’d still go back. Okay! Food. Well. We got the two different types of spring rolls, fried and steamed. Not. Worth. It. Avoid! Avoid! Avoid! We will never order these items again. Please trust me when I say its not worth it. Flavor on spring rolls were good though. Not so much the fried. Thai Ice Tea was delicious. Get it. The entrées that we tried are as follows; Bangkok House Special, Pud Thai, Pud See Ew and Shrimp fried rice. All YUM!!! The menu is very broad at describing the dishes, but each had its own distinct, delicious flavor. Bangkok entrée was basically Pud See Ew with a sauce. I ordered the spice to be medium and that was spicer than I thought it’d be. It was delicious, nice to try and tasted good, wouldn’t order it again. Pud Thai was basically a Pad Thai, with all the simplicity and deliciousness to go with. I combined this with the Bangkok to lighten up the sauce and this went perfectly together! Will order this entrée again. Pud See Ew was absolutely delicious! Definitely one of my favorites. It’s your basic drunken noodle dish, with broccoli and awesome flavor. If you like noodles and broccoli, order this. This fried rice has got to be one of THE best fried rice dishes I have ever had! No lie. My fiancé is a chef, she said there was definitely MSG in the food, but let’s be honest, if you’re going to these kinds of places, are you reeeaaaaallly worried about MSG?! What you really don’t know, won’t hurt you. And it’s not like you’re eating here every week. Who can afford that?! Back to the fried rice. Get it. But! Really think about getting the shrimp before you order. If I could redo, I definitely wouldn’t get the shrimp. Although jumbo and delicious, only 5 come in the dish for $ 2 – 3 more. It’s not really worth it unless you’re Pescatarian. But get the fried rice! So good. Well this review is long! Hope it’s helpful. Give this place a try, for realz! Don’t hesitate. It’s so good, so worth it. Portions are big, makes for amazing leftovers! Side note; you’ll notice in my pictures every plate came with an obnoxious carrot garnish. This was a waste of carrots and we ended up just putting each garnish on an empty plate.

My favorite Thai restaurant in the area! This is exactly what I look for in Thai food. They have a varied menu and reasonable prices. We always eat in because of the distance from our home, but I observe them doing a bustling take-out business as well. Their staff is always efficient and friendly.

Really tasty authentic Thai food. Probably the best I’ve had in the city. Service is also good, prices are a bit high though. Otherwise we love it here!

Best Thai place in town. Can’t believe this gem in a strip mall. Chicken Kee Mow medium hot is classic. Order it so regularly for take out(they don’t deliver) that the owner starts to identify our order pattern when we speak on the phone — lol. His English is not very good though, can be hard to understand sometimes. The serving size is pretty big, I usually eat one serving for two meals.

I have been here at dinner a couple times before and it was fine. However, my first trip to their lunch buffet was today, and never again. Most of the dishes looked fine. However, none of them were warm. Luke-warm at best. We went at about 12:15pm, so it was right during the heart of lunch hour, you would think everything would be fresher. It truly makes me question their food safety. I won’t go back there. Also, I don’t see that anyone mentioned this, but the last couple times I’ve been there, there is an asian person(owner? spouse of owner? employee?) that stands out front smoking all the time. Or, she sits at the bar and just stares at you. This wouldn’t be a big deal, but her face is painted clown-white. It’s creepy, and quite disturbing. I’m all for doing what the heck you want to do, but don’t be a creeper while I’m trying to eat.

I did make it back for the lunch buffet, and was pleased overall. There was a great selection. The food was good and the batches seemed to be small enough to require enough churning to keep it fairly fresh. I would go back again.

My favorite Thai restaurant in Milwaukee. The red curry is delicious and very popular for good reason. My favorite is the volcano chicken. They will make it as spicy as you like. I asked for hot, and it was just right for me, they did offer to make it spicier if I wanted. We had a group of four for dinner, and ended up getting dinners that are usually on the lunch buffet. It was even better than the buffet(presentation!) Prices are reasonable. They also have Thai beers. I’m not a fan of buffets, and usually avoid them, but theirs is great. It doesn’t have that creep factor. About 8 items or so, which may not seem like a lot, but it’s just right. Most people that go for lunch(business crowd) get the buffet, so everything is fresh and gets replaced often. The buffet is a deal, and priced reasonably considering what you’re getting. The service is always good, and friendly.

I grew up being a VERY picky eater… I didn’t even try most veggies til the ripe old age of 16(and I was right about many of them!). Meat, potatoes and corn did it for me, with the occasional pizza or taco(meat and cheese only, please) thrown in for variety. So, you can imagine how long it took me to try Thai food. I think I was in my late 20’s? Bangkok House was not my first(gasp!). My first opened my eyes up to what flavor, other than butter and cheese, was. It was an expansion from my dabbling in Chinese. It’s menu had over 100 items! Very daunting for a newbie, but I made it through. When I moved to another part of town, I found out that Bangkok House was nearby. Thus began my love affair. It started with takeout… there was always something on T.V. that we wanted to watch and no one wanted to cook. My husband always chose something different(he’s a goat), but not me. I found the red curry chicken and stuck with it. I mean, what if the one time I tried something else, it sucked? Then, one time, we branched out and added spring rolls to our order! Yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum. «That’s it!», I said, «I have to get out of this rut and try the buffet. Hubby, you’re coming with me!» Of course he didn’t object, and we finally had a date with the buffet. Walking in, the angel and devil on my shoulders kept arguing, «There’s not gonna be anything good!» «You’ll find something… what are the odds that it’s ALL weird?» With trepidation, I approached the buffet. It all LOOKED good… wait. What was that in the corner? REDCURRYCHICKEN??? OMG! OMG! OMG! Once I calmed down, I perused the other offerings, scrutinized the ingredients and made my choices. Back at the table, I dug in, while my husband watched me with an amused look on his face. As I took a bite of each new-to-me dish, I smiled and said, «Wow!» «It’s good, huh?» he asked. «We are sooooo coming back here!» I exclaimed. Once in a great while, the dishes on the buffet have been sitting out to the point of cooling off. While a tad disappointing, this is not a turn off to me. It just isn’t! I don’t care how cold this food gets, it is still delicious! I’ve noticed that when I have leftovers, they ALWAYS taste better the next day. This place is no exception. The flavors do not diminish once the food has cooled off or if it is reheated; they seem to taste even better! So, what can you expect? Well, the norm on the buffet is Tom Yum Gai and Tom Kha Chicken soups, red curry chicken, drunk man noodles, volcano chicken, a beef and vegetable dish, a shrimp dish and a vegetarian dish, just to name a few. Spring rolls and chicken tempura are other standards, along with white and fried rice. Every once in a while they substitute another dish for one of the regular ones. These and other dishes are available as single servings as well. There is a full bar, coffee, tea, lemonade, soda(by the can, no free refills) and 2 Thai beers: Singha and Chang. Come for the buffet and experience a whole new world of flavors… 12÷2015÷106

There really aren’t any decent Thai restaurants in Milwaukee’s south side with the exception of Bangkok House. Unfortunately Bay View hasn’t gotten with the program and landed one yet so this is my closest ‘go-to’ Thai place. If Bangkok House delivered they would make a fortune! I was excited when Bangkok House decided to restart their weekday lunch buffet. The buffet is not huge but does include many favorites like Pad Thai, Volcano Chicken, Tom Yum Gai, red curry, drunkard’s noodles, etc. I was impressed that they didn’t «dumb down» the spice which is typical for a buffet. We have done take out for dinner and have never been disappointed. I judge a Thai restaurant based on their Tom Yum soup and it is always spot on with the right level of salty, sour and spice. I just wish they DELIVERED because I would be in heaven.

Favorite Thai in the city. It’s totally out of the way of everything but I will gladly make the trek for takeout. When you ask for it spicy, they don’t hold back. I love spicy food but there have been times I have been in PAIN eating the deliciousness. Our go to is volcano chicken(the veggies are always fresh and crisp), the pad thai, and the red curry.

As far as lunch buffets near the airport go, this is one of your best options. As far as Thai restaurants near the airport go, this your only option. I’ve dined here frequently over the years but now that I am the resident«lunch coordinator» on my team, I was curious to gauge my coworkers reactions. These are people who go out to eat for lunch five days a week and have been to a total of six different restaurants in the past year. I’ve been impressed by their willingness to step out of their comfort zone lately. I thought I was pushing it when I suggested this place, but they went for it. Not only did they go for it, they Loved it! I was humored by listening them try to remember what they were eating: «Pud Tak Pew Drunk Curry» was one of the dishes apparently. There was also«that one noodle dish» and«that reddish noodle dish» and that«really spicy minced chicken dish». Gee, I really love my coworkers. Not«foodies», but they like good food, even if they are not familiar with it. The Volcano Chicken and the Chicken Curry were popular choices. My favorite thing today was the grilled chicken, not something I had ever seen on the buffet before. The cost for my three plates of delicious Thai gluttony? $ 10.95. That’s on the high end, especially for this part of town, but worth every penny.

How do you know this is an authentic establishment? The people who run it are Thai and don’t speak the best english, but that’s ok– I’d rather have authentic. I ordered the spiny rolls, satay and nam sod. All delicious, fresh and spot on flavors. The inside is nice and great atmosphere. Small– which is nice.

After being told by a few people that this place was a potential rival to EE-Sane for flavor, I had no choice but to check it out. Unfortunately, I think they set my expectations too high. My fiancée and I did the lunch buffet. A brief note about the service: it was fine. The server was vigilant about discarded plates and gathered them almost immediately. The host was a little awkward, but there’s no harm in that. I tried a few dishes from the buffet. Most of it was fine, but not outstanding. The drunk man noodles were one of the better dishes on the buffet when we came in. They had plenty of flavor, but there was a huge amount of cabbage added as filler. I don’t mind cabbage, but I had a small pile of it left after I’d eaten all of my noodles without having picked around it at all. The sauce tasted heavily of vinegar; I don’t mind that, personally but it might be off-putting to some, so I’ll mention it anyhow. The green bean dish started out great, but got overpowering very quickly. I don’t remember what it was called, but it had beans in a sauce composed of a mixture of spices. I was excited to try the red curry. I’m a curry fanatic, so it’s usually what I get whenever I go to any Thai or Indian place(I know, Thai and Indian curries are totally different beasts, but the point I’m framing is that I love my curry in whatever form it takes); hell, I make it myself sometimes once a week. The red curry here was extremely mild, not just in terms of spiciness(which I expected, being out for the lunch buffet), but in terms of flavor. Now, often red curry does have a milder flavor than green or yellow curry, but this was very mild, almost tasting just of coconut milk. It wasn’t bad, it just was different that I expected. I don’t want to sound too negative on the place, but I think my expectations were a bit high when I had been told by so many people that it was as good as EE-Sane. I will make an attempt to come back some time for dinner and see if it fares any better with food cooked to order, but until then my rating of their lunch buffet is a solid 3/5, A-OK.

After a few times being here, I understand why we keep going back. The food is absolutely amazing. The Green Curry with pork might be one of the best dishes of food I have ever eaten. It is a coconut milk and green curry broth with green peppers, in this case pork, bamboo shoots, and at least one variety of basil. You ladel it over rice and it is the most amazing thing ever. Fortunately, it was very filling, so I have leftovers for lunch! This dish has it all: spice, herbal components, earthiness, a silky mouthfeel, broth, and exoticness. My companion had the Volcano Tofu. I haven’t had it in so long that I had forgotten what it is that I like so much about Volcano dishes. It isn’t the meat or protein, it is the carrots and cabbage in that delicious spicy sauce. Skip everything else and get the Green Curry!!! Secret spot for a wonderful and quiet weekend evening dinner. And the service was extraordinary too. Even though there rarely are people dining at night(I’ve no idea why not other than the strip mall location), the waiter was very attentive and yet not overbearing.

Thai Lunch Buffet!!! How did I not know about you??? Nothing is blow your face off hot, but the Volcano Chicken was great, as was the red and yellow curries. The table service was iffy, as they didn’t really refill the water glasses or do much at all. I’m not sure if this is because of the buffet or not, so I’m giving them a pass. The old guy running the register seemed indifferent, but wasn’t really rude. Either way, I like Thai food and this is a solid lunch option.
