I really enjoyed my meal here today with friends. Foods were excellent as well as the services. Price were affordable and place was very clean. I highly recommend it!

Lousy, lousy, lousy. We showed up at 8:33pm and the decal on the door said they closed at 9pm and the neon«Open» sign was still blinking«Open»… But the door was locked and the employees just looked at us and then walked off. They closed a full 30 minutes early and wouldn’t even acknowledge us standing outside the door! Lousy customer service.

This has to be the best Mexican food we found in Saint George! The Mulitas are divine. Great service and even better food!

We were on our way from California to Utah and stopped here for lunch because of the Unilocal reviews. Half off al pastor small tacos on Wednesdays. We got 12 al pastor tacos for around $ 10. We were hungry but the tacos were delicious! Lots of meat per tacos. Very flavorful(a little bit on the salty side but if you put lots of onion and cilantro and other things from the salsa bar on the tacos, they tasted awesome.) the order also comes with grilled jalapeños and onion which paired nicely with the tacos. The salsa bar has a good variety of condiments. my husband liked the free pinto beans and I really enjoyed the guacamole salsa. Service was quick and waitress who served us was polite. 4.5 stars over all, but since we came here on a Wednesday with their awesome half off al pastor deal, 5 stars! We would definitely come here again!

On the positive side– Great food and good prices. On the negative — extremely slow service. One major detractor is no restroom at the restaurant. Had to walk quite a distance down nightmare Ally to find a public restroom that was dirty and barely usable. Not the fault of the restaurant but took away from the experience.

Oh you know it’s good when there is a line out the door, and down the sidewalk as soon as the lunch rush starts. Try anything– you’ll love it! The mini tacos are great, and I love the breakfast burritos any time of the day! If you’re really hungry, grab the Asada fries! Words cannot describe the ‘yum’!

I never would have found this perfect quick stop en route from Las Vegas to Zion National Park if it wasn’t for all the fabulous Unilocal reviews! And it was delicious and affordable and authentic. The crown jewel for me was the tripe taco: nicely crispy on the edges, flavorful, and just divine with the guacamole salsa, cilantro, onion, and line fixins. The lengua, chorizo, beef cheek, and al pastor tacos were also delicious. These are some of the best tacos I’ve had in years. The guac and chips was not the best I’be had. The guac could have benefited from more salt and flavor. The service was friendly and attentive, and the restaurant is bright and inviting and clean. Bathrooms are shared with neighboring restaurants and in the shopping complex, not the restaurant.

So so good! We loved the al pastor fries. The complementary pinto beans were so good and flavorful, the kids loved them. The mulitas are really good, kids got a chicken and a carnitas, both way good but carnitas more flavorful. We also got al pastor, carne asada and chicken tacos. They were good, your average street taco I’d say. We were just passing through on a drive from Cali to salt lake and we will definitely be back the next time we drive through!

This was a more traditional Mexican joint. I was looking for TexMex with a spicy flavor. This was not it. But the fish tacos were pretty good. Skip the salsa, go for the guacamole.

Very good burritos. We came here based on Unilocal reviews and we went back a few days later for more. Although the burritos are a little too salty, the carne asada, chorizo, marinated pork, and chicken options were very good. The horchata was too sweet. Their salsa bar has four salsa options and we were impressed with the flavors, especially the guacamole salsa. Good amount of seating inside and polite service.

Great pricing, great food, authentic tastes. My goto place for quick tasty Mexican in this side of town. Only issue is no bathrooms in the place, they are about 50 yards off in the shopping centers common

Excellent! Take Café Rio and change almost everything to make it good and authentic and you get El Coyote. 4 tacos and a large drink was $ 6. The best choices for the«farm palette» are the carne asada burritos and the Al Pastor Tacos. Heaven!

Having recently spent a little time road-tripping along the coasts of Baja(MX) feasting on amazing local food, I was sure none of the mexican food in the states would be able to compare and had been sticking to other cuisines. But then I got the craving for some ‘street’ tacos(and horchata, of course). So I took to Unilocal, browsing the list of mexican restaurants in St. George with the hope of finding something that stood out as ‘hole in the wall’ good. In the end, I decided on El Coyote Charro — swayed by the positive reviews and plentiful photos of their delicious looking food. My partner and I went just before lunch time — around 11:30ish am. The place was pretty empty at that time, though quickly began to fill up with the, largely hispanic, local lunch crowd. It was packed around noon. The restaurant itself is pretty modern-looking and possesses a certain ‘mexibro’ bar-feel. The menu is painted on a brightly colored yellow wall — easy to read, with descriptions of the food and actual prices. Clever. There’s ample seating too — enough for large groups and/or families, but solo/paired diners can find their quiet spot too. Everything in the dining area was bright, colorful and clean. Napkins and other eating utensils were well-stocked, as was the amazing salsa bar. There you can load up on fresh salsas such as verde and rojo, as well as nab freshly chopped onions, cilantro, radishes, and warm pinto beans to accompany your meal. Yum. Service at this place is sort of cafeteria-style, in that you order at the front, you’re given a number, and then your food is brought to you. The young girl at the register was friendly and all smiles when we ordered — she spoke English and Spanish, so ordering was simple(I ordered completely in English) and may be less intimidating for those who get nervous/anxiety when there’s a language barrier. As for the food? I started off with 2 small tacos al pastor(pork). These are more popularly known as ‘street’ tacos or just the ‘regular’ tacos you tend to find in Mexico itself. It consists of 2 small corn tortillas, grilled, marinated pork and pineapples(YES!). I added diced white onions, cilantro, and salsa from the bar(they leave that part to you). How were they? These things were amazing — it’s like I was right back in Guerrero Negro(Baja Cali Sur). The pork was well-cooked yet juicy, rich in earthy flavors/spices, and with a nice kick that was mellowed out by the grilled pineapple chunks. The tacos were immediately followed by a single mulita de pollo(chicken). The mulita kind of resembles a tiny quesadilla to me – it’s 2 small corn tortillas(the same size as used for the small tacos) sandwiching a filling of melted queso and grilled, smokey chicken breast chunks. Adorned with a little drizzle of salsa verde, the simple little mulita was surprisingly good and something I wished I had ordered 2 of. But I had other things to eat — like the Asada Fries my partner and I decided to share. We had been told we needed to try Asada fries in San Diego, but never really got around doing so when there. We were both really surprised to find them on the menu in a place like St. George and we thought we’d give them a try. The Asada Fries are, essentially, french fries dressed up like nachos; they’re covered in queso, tomatoes, onions, guacamole, sour cream, and delicious, marinated, grilled carne asada(beef/steak). Potato nachos? I’m all for it. El Coyote Charro really outdid themselves here too — the french fries were perfectly cooked and held up well. The queso was creamy and mild(not cheddar), and the tomatoes, onions, cilantro and jalapenos all tasted fresh. The guacamole, with large chunks of avocado in it, appeared to be homemade. The dollop of mexican sour cream was a nice finishing touch. It didn’t have the distinct ‘bite’ of American sour cream, instead being more mellow and creamy in flavor — ideal for cutting the heat from the jalapenos. Despite being a huge portion, and having already eaten a few tacos, my partner and I absolutely destroyed the Asada fries. They were an amazing blend of cultures — and we’re both huge fans now. I polished the meal off by ordering one of their 3 different Aguas Frescas — Horchata. It was on the sweeter side, lower in cinnamon flavor than others and very tasty — definitely worth having, especially at only $ 2.50. All in all, we had a great experience at El Coyote Charro. The food was delicious, authentic and cheap — I hope my travels bring me by this place again.

What a sweet find! I stopped here for lunch and couldn’t believe the prices when looking over the menu. Inside smelled so good and they have a decent amount of tables. The girl at the register who took my order was nice and answered any questions I had about the menu. The«Carne Asada Taco» and«Al Pastor Taco» I had were both priced at just $ 1.35 each. You read that right, $ 1.35 each! The tacos come just meat and tortilla, but they have a salsa bar with a variety of fresh salsas, veggies, onions and cilantro(free of charge) where you can dress your taco to your liking. The Al Pastor taco did automatically come with pineapple which I loved. The tacos both had good quality meat, no grizzle and the flavor was very good. I also ordered a «Carne Asada Mulita» priced at $ 1.79 and loved every bite! They were generous with the cheese and this was my favorite of what I tried. I will definitely be back when I’m in St George. One thing I noticed at the register was a sign that they have half price Al Pastor tacos on Tuesdays, like they aren’t already cheap! Score!
