We dined at Bella Luna last evening. The wait staff was wonderful. She was attentive and when my dish was not as advertised made a great service recovery. The veal piccata was too soupy and a bit overdone. The she crab soup was rich and full of crab. Cappuccino was very good(and one of us is a coffee snob). So some items get a 1 star while coffee and service a 5 stars. Agree with other reviews that décor is funky at best and outdated for sure.

We visit here at least 2 – 3 times a year when passing thru the area for the last few years. It’s not an upscale or a «glam place to wine n’dine», but rather a nice little family-run restaurant. Been here for breakfast, dinner, and also used the drive-thru for take-out and great pizza. We’re from the NE and not really into Grits, but had them a year ago for there special shrimp & grits breakfast … wow I became a real fan. The restaurant is clean, friendly, and the seafood is always good quality and fresh.

We have loved everything we have eaten here. Tonight, our fourth visit, we had the eggplant rollatini small plate, grilled vegetable salad, and the pasta primavera. Every dessert we’ve tried has also been delicious. So far we’ve had the Italian wedding cake, hazelnut torte(their version of tiramisu), and cannoli. We are taking the torta della nonna(grandma’s cake) home with us because we are stuffed. Their speciality drinks are great and they have several beers on tap. Servers are cheerful, service is prompt. Their bread with roasted garlic-infused olive oil is warm and toasted perfectly. We are already planning our next meal there!

The food was edible at best. The restaurant needs to be updated. The waitress was attentive and not to overwhelming. For that reason they got their second star. I ordered the lenguini and clams with white wine sauce and there was enough sauce when I was done to fill a bowl of soup. Speaking of soup, I had the wedding soup or that’s what they called it. The soup was flavorless and a real disappointment.

We went here for a large family dinner as a last resort because 1) the annual dinner restaurant was completely booked and the wait was about 2 – 3 hours and 2) it was a Friday night. :( After getting over the hump of not being able to dive into amazingly fresh seafood for dinner, we finally settled into Bella Luna Café for some Italian food. We opted for a bottle of wine, which I can’t remember the name of it, but it just didn’t taste right. Our party had had the same bottle before and also thought it was slightly off. So, we ended up with a cheaper bottle of Malbec that ended up being fantastic. I ordered the pasta with clams in a white wine sauce, which wasn’t entirely bad. However, waking up the next day feeling nauseous and barfing the whole ride to the airport was not the best way to end a beautiful week-long trip.

A decent place. Plain fare, but quite good. Definitely worth it. Need to give the pizza menu a try, it looked very good

This place is very good. A family of 5 all had different things and all loved the food. The red sauce is amazing! I highly recommend it! The décor is a bit odd, but it’s worth it for the food. The owner stopped by to talk and made us feel right at home. One slice of 5 layer coconut cake was huge and so very good. One slice could have feed us all. We will be going back before we move.

The best She Crab soup ever! We have eaten here two times in one week on our two week vacation. We will go again before we leave. Fresh ingredients, made to order.

Very accommodating wait staff, though the ambience could use some updating, it was very pleasant and comfortable. The meals were generous portions and two of us hungry golfers needed to take home some of our seafood pasta. All four meals had excellent taste and were proper temperature. The wine selection was broad enough to have each of us get what we wanted to enjoy our seafood based dishes. We will be coming back again, as we have for the last three years

On our quest to find a good Italian restaurant, we went in for a late lunch. We were seated next to the only other patron in the restaurant. A local in for his afternoon beer. We split a sandwich and salad and both were excellent. However, the service was lacking(a lot). Also while we were there, a man was asleep at the bar! It turned out to be one of the owners waiting for his ride with the manager. Our whole experience was odd. The place is cute and well decorated but the service staff needs a bunch of training. We probably won’t go back.

Great omelet, friendly, knowledgable staff! Thanks, Vanessa, for your great service and information! Not island food; this place has Italian.
