I would never go here on the weekend. The lines are too long for food that is good but overpriced. That said, I love going here with my kids during the week. Burgers and shakes are good, but are not worth the wait in the heat during summer weekends. The onion rings are one of my favorites and the ahi poke tacos hit the spot.

I had Kimchi burger and cheese burger, along with my comoanion. Kimchi burger for $ 12.99 was she of my expectations, but Cheese Burger was excellent for $ 7.99. I will come back to try more next time I happen to pass by.

Ive been wanting to stop by this burger place for years but i usually pass by on my way to work a catering event and the lines are long. I finally stopped in with an English homegirl last Monday evening and there was no line! We had great burgers and garlic fries with plenty outside seating. The best part of our experience was a fun, energetic young lady named Nicole. She treated us family talking with us about her life and the history of Grotts. We gave her a personal tip of a few dollars just because she made us so happy and feel valued. Please tell her about this review of her service. We are the interracial couple and i told her i work for Elaine Bell Catering… Thanks

Great old burger joint in the heart of the Napa Valley. Sweet potato fries really good. Get a glass of wine of cold beer and go sit on the grass in the Picnic area.

This place is legit. I’m really not a burger person. Ordered a double cheese burger thinking the patties weren’t that thick. However, I was wrong. The burger was so juicy and tasty. I also ordered onion rings which were good. Everything seemed fresh here, even though it was my first time. Only problem I had from not giving them a four or even five star was the hair in the onion ring. As I took a bite off one, my friend was like stop! She grabbed it out of my hand and showed me a hair sticking out that was in the batter. I just lost it in the bathroom. Gave them three stars because the manager at the moment handled everything with class. She reversed our entire bill and was nice about it. I mean why wouldn’t you be nice about specially we were very discrete about it and not ruin anyone else’s meal. Still would come back to try other things on the menu. My friend didn’t even finish her garden burger after all that…

I love the ambiance, I love the service, I love whole vibe… and the food here is no slouch either. I’ve been to the Embarcadero spot many times over, but I love this place much more. I didn’t enjoy the kimchee burger as much… it tastes like just kimchee and not much else. Other than that, the Mexican Sweet Corn and their shakes were great.

I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and it was literally the best cheeseburger I ever ate. It was juicy and the bacon was perfectly cooked! They had a really good hard cider on their beer menu! I was also surprised at how clean their outdoor seating was! It was immaculate! Like, it was so clean you could eat off the floor(but don’t because that’s not socially acceptable). I will definitely be returning whenever I go back to wine country!

I can see why this place is so popular. The burger is good which is what they are known for. The wait was long. Two lines open, one of which was a new cashier. And I get it, new cashiers will only get better with experience. But the wait to order was slow and took a long time. They did have someone walk the line waiting and offered cups of water. That was a nice touch. I ordered a cheeseburger and onion rings. The cashier was not familiar enough to ring the details of a dairy free burger due to a friend’s allergy so it took even longer because she had to go find someone who could help. It think the person helping her was a manager or shift leader. She was extreme helpful in making sure the order contained no dairy. Food comes out pretty quickly. The burger was a good, chargrilled burger cooked to medium well. The bun is an egg bun and a bit thick for my liking. Onion rings were great! Lots of outdoor seating, a place to wash your hands and get free water, separate drink pickup station and condiment area too. I think this is a go to place for everyone visiting Napa, and I suggest going at least once. Especially if you need a little hope getting over or through all the wine tours.

I stopped by this roadside spot on a Sunday afternoon with friends after some wine tasting, and there was a long wait but the wait time was pretty reasonable overall. I ordered the Texas avocado burger without the jalapeños, and they were really delicious. The patty was cooked perfectly, and they also didn’t skimp on the avocado slices. I originally ordered the Madagascar vanilla milkshake, but I noticed they had a cookies and cream variety on their menu while I was waiting for my order. I asked a staff member if I could have the cookies and cream instead, and he happily obliged. I also tried my friends’ regular and garlic fries, and they were both really good too. I prefer the garlic fries since it’s more flavorful. Their menu has some solid options, and the prices are reasonable for the quality and amount of food that you get even though it’s more expensive than other similar places.

A classic burger stand with multiple locations in the Napa Valley. I have made multiple stops at the location off the main highway running through the valley. Place is always busy. Menu is fairly simple. Alcohol, burgers, fries. Pricing is consistent with the offerings in the area. Plenty of all out door seating. Staff is pleasant and efficient. Orders have been made correctly within good timing. Some items from the menu I have tried include the garlic fries, French fries, and western burger. Food always hot and appropriately seasoned. Juicy and tender are the burgers. Fresh crisp vegetables. Good consistent service. Delicious and mouthwatering food. Bad a little pricey but it’s all worth. I am a repeat visitor going through the Napa valley. Would recommend for all.

Thank you Guy Fieri for featuring this GEM of a burger spot on his show DDD years ago! I went on a surprise date this past weekend and we swung into Gott’s for a quick snack before some wine tasting. And boy did this foodie visit add some brownie points on the date! Gott’s only has outdoor bench seating and why wouldn’t they? The weather is almost always perfect in Napa! What we ordered: –Kid’s Cheeseburger: they forgot to add the cheese, however, the burger itself was still delicious and honestly, perfect amount for an adult. –French Fries: BEST fries I ever did have without wanting to order sweet potato fries or extra toppings on fries. Every fry was perfectly crisped and salted very well. –Chicken Tenders: Whatever they bread their chicken with, I need to know that recipe! OMG did those pollo pieces simmer on my tongue in such a foodie-heavenly way. –Ranch dressing: Best ranch dip ever. I believe they make this in-house. I really enjoyed how clean and organized this place is, even for outdoors. Next time, I’d like to order some wine with my meal and enjoy more of the tranquil environment this place possessed.

Under the sun and cool breeze after checking out a castle and a vineyard, my family and I were ready to eat something. On our way to the next winery, we found this nice little spot. Dressed in an All-America attire, patriotism and affluence, Gott’s Roadside is a charming place in the Napa area. Surrounded by families and tourists, it boasts good eats that aren’t from high-end. Burgers, salads, fish and chips, shakes, and the like. Prices are a bit high like a Red Robin or a BJ’s. Seating is like a picnic ground. Tables in front of the cashier area, a tall booth near where you pick up your food, and a few seconds walk behind the restaurant are more tables covered by shade of trees and man-made devices. About $ 32 for fish and chips with a cheeseburger no tomatoes. The fish and chips were pretty good although my mom and I have had better. The fries were nicely made. Not too crispy with a nice bunch of garlic and chives on top. The burger was done about a medium to medium well. Egg bun with special sauce. No tomatoes. Tasted so fine. Not nearly seventy five percent done with it and I got full but I ate all of it anyways. It felt like homegrown meat with fresh vegetables to boot! If you order a soda, you get free refills. They got water in a pitcher. Easily assessable. They even have a outside sink with about five little water spouts. It’s a nice little spot to take a break from sipping wine and admiring the vineyards. A nice piece of Americana!

Had this place bookmarked for a couple years after seeing it on some tv show. It was always too far to just drive up for food but since I was visiting my sister at Sonoma State I decided to take her to get dinner at Gott’s. The drive up through the hills was awesome and was cool seeing all the vineyards. When we pulled up I was shocked because they place didn’t look as I imagined, line was long, no big deal. My sister and I decided what we wanted while waiting in line and ended up ordering; Texas Avocado, Wisconsin Sourdough, Sweet Potato Fries, Coffee shake, and an Arnold Palmer. Was totally impressed by the seating outback, very nice setting, almost seems like being at a wedding reception. Food came out at a decent time but I was surprised by the portions being fairly small compared to what I paid, ~$ 40. I love the fact that they use baking pans as food trays, neat idea. I took a bite of the Texas Avocado and the mixture of juicy meat, spicy jalapeño, and creamy avocado was AMAZING! I was almost mad because it was so good and it was my sisters burger hah. Then I tried the Wisconsin and it was just as delicious, the fries were also really flavorful. My coffee shake was melting fast so I had to enjoy it before it was gone. Glad I tried this spot, wouldn’t mind coming back if in the area. The price makes me a little uneasy but the quality of food is superb so I cannot really be too upset.

After watching an epiose of diners, drive-in and dives where Taylor’s Refresher Automatic(now called Gott’s), we had to stop by and try even though we already had reservations elsewhere. I am glad we did! The ahi burger was so good! There was a thick slice of tuna lightly seared which was sandwiched with a ginger wasabi slaw and fresh bun. The garlic fries was good; though it could be a bit more garlicky. I would definitely come back here again especially for the ahi burger. Note: The ahi burger was small and not big like the other burgers. The portion of the fries was also on the small side. Tip: The line move fast. Do not worry too much about the line and the food comes out fast.

LEGIT! Quality of meat and everything else was top notch. I got the Western Bacon Blue Ring Burger which included: BBQ sauce, bacon, red onion, blue cheese and a massive burger patty. Delish but not for everyone since blue cheese is an acquired taste. My family enjoyed their burgers too which were: normal bacon cheeseburger, Wisconsin Sourdough, and Texas Avocado burger. Solid fries but the garlic ones did get soggy after a bit(even though I asked for extra crispy). My sister got a root beer float and it was tasty too! Nothing extraordinary but a nice treat on a warm day. My mom and I shared the chocolate shake and it was super decadent! Perfect way to end a meal. It tastes like an extra chocolatey ice cream that melted. Great place to eat but on the pricey side and can get busy. We waited a bit for our food but hey, you can buy wine(and beer) here too!

Pretty good place for lunch or dinner. I’d put it at 3.5 stars though because of high price and the fact that they were out out of brussel sprouts. Great location and plenty of parking, you could park on the left or right side parking lot. Its all outdoor seating with plenty of picnic benches. This place not only sells burgers, but tacos, poke, and many other items. They also of course have wine and a bar. As for the food we tried the garlic fries, poke tacos, and the ahi burger. Garlic fries weren’t too bad, but i still prefer gordon biersch. Ahi burger was flavorful and good, but had a strong ginger taste. Best thing we had was probably the poke tacos. I especially enjoyed the sauce. Overall, we were happy with the service and food. Price of the food was a bit steep, but this is napa so most things are overpriced here. Great place to go after your finished with the wineries.

Sometimes all you need after some day drinking is a good old fashioned burger joint. Gotts delivers with delicious food, many options, and standard pricing. I’ve tried the burgers before, so this last visit I opted for the ahi poke tacos served with sesame seeds, avocado, spicy mayo, and cabbage. Served 3 to an order — delightfully fresh, light and the perfect size alongside some fries and onion rings. The onion rings were delicious! Super crispy, beer battered and perfectly fried. I love that they offer gluten free buns that don’t fall apart the minute you pick up the burger. I think considering where you are and quality of the food the price point is spot on. It can get pricey when adding items to a burger, but it’s meant to be a treat once in a while, right?

HOLYSMOKES this place is the cutest place to eat my sloppy burger lol. I’ve been to Napa a couple times for wine tasting, but never thought of eating here, until my urgent craving for burger, shake, and fries came in. This place is located smack in the middle of all the beautiful Napa winieries. This place always has a long line and now I know why! I ordered my burger medium-rare and heck, it was a great medium-rare burger! I’ve never seen green garlic fries in my life, but guess what? Now I have and damn were they good lol. You’ll find lots of picnic tables amongst the green grass, so there really isn’t a reason why you wouldn’t find a place to sit. So what’s not to love about this place? I’ve «Gott’s» to have it!

My husband and I decided to come here on our way out of Napa Valley. We didn’t realize this place is well known, but saw there were always a lot of people there every time we drove by, so it must be good right? It’s all outdoors, so when it rains it might be an issue, but it was a nice day, so it made the whole experience great. We ordered a hamburger and ahi tuna poke tacos. You order at the front near the street and then go around the corner to pick up your food once they call your name. They do serve beer and wine, in case you want an alcoholic drink with your meal. We sat in the back where most of the tables are. They even had a kids picnic table which was really cute! There’s a lot of open space to have the kids/dogs play, which creates a very relax atmosphere. The hamburger itself was good, but not the best I’ve ever had. My husband though really enjoyed his tacos, so this place is more than just a hamburger stand! The fries were also good. Not too crispy or too mushy, just perfect. :) I will definitely be stopping by on my next visit to Napa!

I really enjoyed Gott’s. My SO’s coworker told us that it’s a must-have while in Napa – be it before and/or after wine tasting. That alc has to get absorbed somehow, so why not do it with a fat juicy burger and a milkshake(NOTE: We were told the milkshakes were huge, and that scared me away, so I didn’t try it, but I’ve heard great things)! There is only outdoor seating, but there’s a ton of it. When I went there were plenty of shaded and sunny options to make everyone happy. I had the California burger, which is a safer choice, and I loved it. Next time I’m back I would like to be adventurous, but this was so good, that I might not. We also had the garlic fries. These were good – cooked to perfection, but not as exciting as the burger. I’m curious to try the sweet potato fries. Two burgers, one order of fries, and a 16oz sprite set us back about $ 35.

I have driven past this location several times, have often seen lines, smelled the wonderful aromas and read the positive reviews, so on my recent trip to Napa this was on my list of places to eat. There was again a line when we arrived, but the line moved quickly. The menu has several tasty sounding options and I opted for the bacon burger with a fried egg, side of fries and an oreo coffee milkshake. For two burgers, two shakes and two fries the total price was $ 53 and some change(I about choked!) The food itself was just ok. The burger was rather bland, the fried egg was hard cooked and the fries were mediocre. The only reason I’m giving this place three stars is for the milkshake. Literally one of the best milkshakes I’ve ever had. It tasted like it was made with real coffee, strong, rich velvety coffee flavor with crunchy chunks of oreo. I might considering stopping by here again, if only for the milkshake(which was about $ 8).

After sipping and tasting wine the entire morning, we needed some really fatty and greasy food to help us sober up. We had already decided to have lunch here when planning our Napa trip. Little did we know is that the place is so popular that there was a line wrapped around the restaurant! It was hard to find parking as well as their lot is pretty small compared to the amount of people eating at this place! Cheese Burger: Super juicy and messy. I love the burger bun. The patty itself was pretty big and well cooked as all the juices were still flowing and oozing out after the first bite. Ahi Tuna Burger: A lighter and healthier option. Pretty tasty. Would recommend for small appetites. We also ordered a milkshake and sweet potato fries. Both were good, but not great. I definitely recommend stopping here if you need a wine tasting break!

Gott’s is on par with Disneyland in it’s wholesome allure and popularity among both kids and their parents. In fact, there are lots of grown-ups here, drinking bottles of wine alongside their garlic fries & burgers. It has that old-school drive-in feel with a modern American menu — salads and tacos included. The perfect place to fuel up after a day on the wine trail. Is it overpriced? Sure. Is there always a line at least 20 people deep? Very likely. But there’s a reason for all of this. It’s tough to be let down when you’re sipping a chocolate milkshake at a picnic table under the shade of a tree in St Helena. It’s worth the wait and extra expense, because, let’s face it… there are no bargains to be had in wine country! Suck it up and enjoy the hype. Gott’s is an ancient treasure that has retained a bit of it’s historic charm. Important lesson: order the classics. Burgers, fried chicken sandwich, fries, and shakes are done perfectly here. The menu has fallen prey to the Cheesecake Factory approach: offer something for everyone, and everyone will be happy! Yet only a few items are truly done well(see: the classics). Splurge and have no regrets! You’ve probably already made other bad decisions before arriving here, so own it.
