This place is the best. The wine is very good but the atmosphere is the best part. If your looking for a low key environment with great people and plenty of space, this is the spot for you. The garden is beautiful, and the staff is great!

Incredible quant winery. The wine maker came out to greet us during our tour. Loved the atmosphere and the wines are very reasonably priced. An experience very memorable!

Wines were good but nothing over the top. Our host, Nick, was superb. Gave us a great tour of the winery. Ask for a tasting in the barrel room, totally worth it.

Wanted to like this cool looking, casual winery, but the girl working there looked very bored, told us very little about the wine(if anything) and frankly couldn’t wait to get back in her air conditioned office. Disappointed.(Wanted to snatch the sweet sick little cat wandering around and bring it inside for some heat relief).

Talk about a little hidden gem of a winery! If it wasn’t for Platypus Tours, I would have never even heard of or had the opportunity to visit this place! From the moment we got there, I had a good feeling about this place. I like the small places that don’t feel pretentious/snooty. Before leaving, my wife and I signed their wall and joined their wine club… SCORE!

Let me first start by saying that the online pictures for this place do not do it justice. This is an absolutely gorgeous boutique winery. The grounds are impeccable. Very country, and humble, while simultaneously gorgeously designed. Country shabby chic is the best way to describe this spot. Just be sure to call ahead and book an appt since they do not take walk-ins. Gardens(with actual fruits and veggies for the picking), tables, trellises, bocce, and oversized Jenga are some of the options while spending the day here. I was really impressed by their wines. Not only are they highly reasonable prices but they are also very delicious. Well-balanced sugars, great flavors that touch the tongue, and overall quality. We enjoyed the two Sauvignon Blancs(starting at $ 15/bottle) and Rose($ 15/bottle) during our visit. We also had the pleasure of tasting some of their more special red wines. All of them were fantastic. If you are looking for something off the beaten track, less touristy, and a great spot to spend your day, look no further than Tudal Winery.

This winery is an amazing place to relax, eat some food, and soak in the scenery. Just off the main highway, but set back enough that it’s quiet. The picnic area has a working garden and lots of neat sculptures to look at. We didn’t have an appointment, but since it was Friday they were able to provide tastings for us anyways. Very friendly staff and got to meet the owner. They even provided us some radishes out of the garden to enjoy with our picnic. Tip: Napa Valley Passport gives you a discount on wine purchases.

Stingy with my 5’s hard for me to think of why I disagree with other review that are 5. This place is a hidden gem and John rocks! It is amazing what an atmosphere can do to make somewhere over the top enjoyable. You can relax, visit with friends and sip wine. You can even collect an egg from the hen house. Need an appointment, but if you forget, just asked for one for 5 minutes after you get there, if they have space you are in! Also, plan to spend a good bit of time here, you will not sip and run…

This place felt so much like home it was amazing. Everyone wants friendly, they encouraged you to wander around and take home vegetables they were growing or eggs their chickens produced that they didn’t have room for. It was a small town country feel in the middle of Napa. The people were great, the wine was great, the atmosphere was great. I would deffinitely come back to this place just to have lunch in their backyard and have a bottle of their red blend

Tudal is just wonderful. My boyfriend and I are wine club members at Cerruti Cellars in Jack London Square but had not visited Tudal until this past week. We were driving home from a stay in Calistoga and decided to stop by Tudal to check it out. We weren’t sure if they were open and hadn’t bothered to call, so we just drove up and asked if we could look around for a bit. They were beyond welcoming– it felt like we were family! Marissa poured us some of their Baci wine and gave us an impromptu tour of the winery. She introduced us to some of the wine makers and even brought us to the chicken coup and let us take home fresh eggs! It was such a wonderful experience and we cannot wait to go back! Thank you Tudal!

My favorite from all that we visited! Delightful and completely charming. Could have stayed here all day. Owner came out to greet us and his girlfriend was giving samples of the sangria she was testing. Now that’s what should be bottled, as well as the wine. Super fun!

One of my all time favorites in Napa. If I had a choice of the last glass… errr…bottles of Cabernet I could drink before dying… Tudal would be in my top 5. I think you still need to make an appointment to visit the winery but it is well worth the effort. They do have a tasting room in Oakland near Jack London Square. If you can get your hands on their Tractor Shed Red — buy it. Great every day red wine!

I have been to Tudal twice and each experience was completely different yet both wonderful! The first time my group went our tasting was set up outside at a picnic table. We were fortunate to happen upon a musician friend of the Tudal employee who gave us an impromptu guitar performance while we tasted. The second time we were treated to a tour by Deano who is warm, funny and knowledgeable. He was generous with the pours and made us feel like were were family in the Tudal home. We were having such a great time that we cancelled our last tour. Great wine, great atmosphere, great fun!

I cannot say enough good things about Tudal. Its become my number 2 favorite winery in the valley. The winery itself is incredible, the tasting was very hands on, very informative very cool. We got there and were greeted right away by a charming woman who was smart and funny, very eager to answer questions, very knowledgeable. The wines were very nice– I am a Cab fan and there’s doesn’t disappoint. We got to tour the vineyards– check sugar levels in the fields– climb up onto their fermenters, see the bottling truck, try reds in an old tractor shed and enjoy a few sips in their amazing courtyard filled with rustic artisan sculptures. We wrote our names with marker on the wall of their tasting room and guessed the«wine word of the day» and won a free bottle of wine! This place is amazing.

Such a quaint winery. Loved being able to have an up high view of the vineyards and the bocce ball court. Small variety of wines, but enough for everyone to find one they liked. It was a plus having all the fun doggies running around.

I could not be more impressed by a winery in California. Tudal is most literally an escape from reality. You have a bocce court, rustic atmosphere with gardens and only vineyards and scenery within view. I like the fact you can’t see roads or cars– you are just smack in the middle of wine country in a serene setting. I think we got lucky in meeting the owner, John Tudal, a very down to earth person who’s biggest traits seem to be good wine and making sure his guests are treated exceptionally. If you’re looking for history, great wine and a place to relax and soak in the atmosphere– I couldn’t recommend this place enough.

We had so much fun at this laid back winery. The guys running the place were warm and inviting. We were the only ones there when we walked in. We had small talk and before we knew it we were jamming along with a guitar and banjo. This was by far our favorite stop while in Napa. Oh yeah and the wines were great too!

Loved it! Such a fun time at tudal with Richard. The mini tour and tasting were great, but I most enjoyed the scenery and sampling wines in the garden. Glad I got to meet Sadie the winery pup. Can’t wait to open my bottles.

Small location, with a small collection of wine. The host was friendly and lots of fun! He allowed us to go into the cellar and even offered to take our pictures. We signed the walls of this winery and had a blast just talking and tasting wine. The fee for this winery is reasonable and while it says by appointment only, they are pretty open to the public. The wine itself was not to my taste but their pinot was pretty good. They have a beautiful yard where you can picnic at and even host parties. Overall, a great place to visit. I would definitely go back. Brent was amazing!
