We’ve used Vaquez’s smog testing place for a couple of years, for several vehicles. It’s best to get a reservation, but we’ve dropped cars during off-​hours and just left a note to have it done. The owner has to answer phones — so if he’s in the middle of a job, just leave a message.
Super friendly, efficient, no nonsense. I couldn’t pick up a car till after hours, and they let me return the next day to take car of the bill. He sends the results to the DMV electronically.
This business is located behind some other buildings — but they have a nice large «SMOG Testing» banner at the street to help you find the place.

Friendly, good service. If you can, try and make an appointment for the first thing in the day, or just make a note that you could be waiting a bit longer (15 – 30 minutes) than whatever you were quoted for in turn around time.
The owner pretty much runs a one-​man-​show here from doing the smog test to answering the phones to ringing you up (simultaneously– so be prepared, but be nice!). He’ll always try to accommodate you (and all of his guests) as best he can, so just keep that in mind as you may see him from running back and forth between his different hats.
I’d clear out a bit of time for this inspection if you know you’re sandwiched in between appointments. Or, just make arrangements to drop off your car there so you aren’t just stuck waiting at this little mix-​use-​but-​no-​food-​or-​anything-​to-​do business strip center.
