They have some decent food. I never go on karaōke night however, because it makes me want to kill myself…

We ate at Miss Annie’s for the third time last night. There were 2 adults and 2 children in the party. We ate in the bar, so no waiting. We were served hush puppies and drinks promptly. We had steaks and a chicken entrée. Salads were good and fresh. Steaks were a bit fatty, but very tasty. The beer was cold and the service was pretty good. We could see that one waitress was taking care of all of the tables in the bar. She wasn’t doing great, but she was trying. I wouldn’t drive 104 miles to eat there(as one of the other reviewers did), but if you’re in the area, it’s a good dinner place. We’ll be back!

Last night I ate dinner at this restaurant with my husband and some of his relatives(7 adults and one child in all). I guess it was okay. First of all, most entrees were listed on the menu as coming with a salad and two sides, but when we ordered, the waitress said that in reality a salad didn’t come with the meal unless chosen as one of a person’s two sides. I didn’t really care since I don’t like salad, but the menu should probably be changed to reflect that. I was also unhappy that the table wasn’t given/offered a beer list. I only learned that Miss Annie’s had Guiness on tap and offered many New Belgium beers when I looked at their website in order to update the business listing for this review. Most of the people at our table ordered steaks, but I ordered grilled chicken and my husband ordered grilled catfish. Both of us asked for the«grilled vegetables»(explanation for those quotes forthcoming) as one side. For our other sides, he got rice and I got a «loaded» baked potato(ditto on the quotation marks … getting bacon and cheese added was supposed to cost $ 1 more than a baked potato with sour cream and butter). No pre-meal bread was served, instead, garlic toast was included with each entrée. Since some people in the party had ordered medium-well steaks(yuck … I feel bad enough ordering mine just medium), we had kind of a long wait for food. It also took a long time for our drinks to be refilled and for someone to take our order. When the food finally came, conversation ceased as everyone dug in. My husband’s family members seemed to enjoy their food well enough. We had gone to the restaurant because his grandmother wanted to get ribs, and she enjoyed them(so did my husband, but when I tried them I definitely thought they paled in comparison to those at the Salt Lick). For his part, my husband enjoyed his fish. I thought my chicken was okay … kinda small and not a very«natural» shape though. I tried his rice and thought it was pretty good, and got one of his hushpuppies, which was probably the best thing I ate all night. Both of us did not like the«grilled vegetables,» which were actually just watery old frozen mixed vegetables(carrots, broccoli, green beans, and bell peppers), inexpertly warmed up(the green beans were still quite cold in some places). My «loaded» baked potato was also a disappointment as it seemed to have only a tiny pinch of toppings(yes, like less than a tablespoon total counting all 4 toppings). The people who hadn’t paid an extra dollar got containers of butter and sour cream with which to dress their potatoes. I ended up asking one of them for their leftover toppings so that my potato would at least taste like something(it was only just done and was obviously not seasoned other than the scant amount of toppings). Since catfish/steak/barbecue restaurants seem to be a dime a dozen in Tennessee, I don’t think I’d seek this one out again if given the choice. But if my husband’s grandma has a hankering for ribs next time we visit, guess I’ll be back(I’ll probably just get an order of hushpuppies, and maybe some spinach-artichoke dip from the appetizer menu since that’s pretty hard to mess up). P. S. The total for our meal(the aforementioned entrees and 2 iced teas) was $ 35 since 18% gratuity was added on. We definitely did not feel like we got our money’s worth.
