Excellent pork ribs not to be missed if you are a rib lover. The smoke is right on and not fake. The beans were a pleasant surprise with a unique spice mixture bumping this up over the main stream BBQ bean. We also tried the rib tips but leaned more for the ribs. Perfect mid week grab and go.

Best barbecue I’ve found in MN, hands down. Rib Tips and wings are both good, but if you’re coming here for the first time, you’ve gotta get the ribs. These ribs are some of the best in the state, I could not recommend them more highly. Service is friendly, and area is more spacious after remodel. A couple things more to note: — this is not really a sit down restaurant. There are seats if you need, but you’re better off just bringing that sweet BBQ back home. — this place keeps kinda weird hours. They’re open more frequently than they used to be, but still check before you go — sides are good, but kinda small. I usually just stick to the main attraction.

I got the pulled pork sandwich, it was ok — nothing special, definitely over priced considering how small and average it was. Now I just tried to order the chicken sandwich over the phone and they told me I could make that order IN the restaurant only. Really? :|

Holy wow! Best bbq I have ever had. The pork ribs were heaven in my mouth. Bbq beans are original and interesting. The coleslaw was bland, but still good. The collard greens could use more flavor. The sides aside, the meat was so good, I may order it for Thanksgiving and throw away the turkey.

Worth your time. Be aware that the fries are a LARGE portion. Do not order double fries.

Long Story Short: I was craving BBQ and I decided to give Big Daddy’s BBQ a try. My boyfriend was a gem and waited in line to get Ribs(beef & pork), chicken, rib tips and some sides to go. We ate the BBQ and wished we ordered from somewhere else… The meat was cooked well, the sauce has little to no flavor and the sides were no bigger than a double shot glass. I was disappointed and wished I had gone to a chain for BBQ like Famous Dave’s, instead of Big Daddy’s. I don’t plan to order from here again. The food was a tad below average, besides the beans which were a-okay.

Pulled pork: tastes like home. Tangy, smoky, layers of flavor, a bun holding it all together perfectly. Yall who think Brasa’s a real taste of southern meat — go here. This is the good stuff. Potato salad: solid entry, tastes like the big buckets of potato salad we ate at field day in NC, which is NOT a criticism. Fries: I was too full to eat many of them but next time I’ll get an extra thing of bbq sauce and dip my way to heaven.

With all the good reviews, I’d thought I’d give this a try. Not sure if it was a bad day but the customer service had absolutely no smile. I bought the whole pork rib rack. The smokiness was awesome. The bbq was very very good! One of the best bbq sauce I’ve eaten. The bad: the ribs were very very dry. I’ve eaten bbq ribs before and was going for the crispy on the outside and nice and juicy in the inside. It was actually the opposite. Maybe it was just a bad rack. I’ll give this a try once more and if it isn’t the same dry meat I’ll give it a re review. But for now it was just ok.

Not sure if we went on an off day. Ordered pulled pork, half slab of beef ribs. The beef ribs were over cooked, charred and inedible. The pulled pork was okay. The sauce was the redeeming quality. Mac n cheese was old. Can’t say I’d give it another try.

Great barbecue — especially the sweet, mapley, spicy, delicious baked beans. The pulled pork sandwich was also excellent. Areas for improvement: The collared greens were good, but needed something more to take them over the top. Also, where’s the tea?

Ok… I know that I said this place was the best and then reviewed Smoke In The Pit and said they were the best and I can see how this may be confusing. Here’s the deal. Big Daddy’s is AMAZING but I think maybe, just maybe Smoke In The Pit has a slight edge. Something about their smoke and seasoning but YOUWILLNEVER go wrong at Big Daddy’s. Ok I feel better now…

I personally can’t find any place in the Twin Cities that can compare to BD’s. I love this place and it’s my go-to when I feel like pig’n out. I’ve had the chicken, beef and pork ribs and have no complaints at all. I’ve always recommended this place and will continue to do so.

Sooooooo good! About the ONLY place in Minnesota to get any real bbq! The Flintstone sandwich is ahmazing! Rib tips-are delish! Their bbq sauce-finger licking good! Will drive 40 minutes every weekend to get some. They are surprisingly never busy-but everyone i know who’s tried it loves it.

Outstanding pulled pork sandwich. My wife loved her all white meat ¼ chicken too! We will be back for more and will tell our friends about it too.

Mmmmm yeah! Yes Yes Yes. Remember the diner scene from When Harry met Sally? You should have what she’s having! I ordered ribs and greens for my staff today, we ate like royalty and loved every minute! One person stopped in and ate the extra order of greens, and then drank the«pot liquor». I am a bbq snob and am really hard on rib people. I will eat here again and again! I am so happy that this is near the MN Capitol, I will be feasting on «que» regularly. Smoke was subtle, bark was awesome, and like I said the collard greens were beyond awesome!

It’s game over with the full rack of ribs. No other place competes with the ribs and burnt ends here. My only complaint is the side dishes are awkwardly small. I’ll share a whole rack of ribs with my fiancée but we have a ittt bitty cup of mac and cheese. Cmon Man! They updated the dining room area so that more than two people can eat at the place.

This is the one place to which we go for rib tips. To us, they make the best available in the state. They come in a generous portion and are juicy, delicious and don’t need the accompanying sauce. The smoke in the meat, unfortunately, makes one overindulge. Since we don’t get them often, we’re okay with the occasional pig out. The location has been updated with a larger dining area in the front, which is probably good for the weekday lunch crowd. I don’t feel too sure about how the ordering goes. Speaking with the person who’s getting the food is fine, yet it’s bothersome to have to repeat what you’ve said to the person who rings up the order. Other than that bother, the food here is solid. It’s authentic, delicious, and reasonably priced. We really love the fact that you can get a hot barbecue sauce if you ask for it. Yum.

My first visit left me wanting. Not bad enough to never go back, but the pork rib tips were tough and fatty. Maybe that’s how some people like them? I had a few good bites that make me wonder if I just need to try something else or if it was an off night. I’m so wanting great BBQ in the area that I’m willing to give it another try.

Counter service, southern style BBQ joint. The interior is plain, almost deli like. But they have a nice patio area on the side with three tables, good spot to sit n watch people, cars, n the new green line light rail while chowing down the ribs. Yes, the ribs are simple and delicious. Yes, the hot BBQ sauce could be hotter yet yummy. We had both the pork ribs and the beef ribs with collard greens and fries as sides. The pork ribs were excellent: tender, juicy and flavorful. The beef ribs were very good as well, though it was not as tender as the pork ribs but we still enjoyed it. The portion was generous. We came hungry and ordered ½ rack of each, but we could not finish them and had to take to go. They also offer the 3 bones ribs which might do for a quick lunch. The price was not cheap but we felt was worth it. The pork rib was $ 13.29 for half rack and the beef rib was $ 16 for half rack, where the 3 rib option is 6.99 and 8.99 respectively. Add $ 1.99 for the combo which include two sides. Though fountain soft drink is extra and not included in the combo. The hours is unique: Wed, Th 11am-6pm; Fri, Sat 11am-9pm; Sun 11am-6pm. That’s right! Overall we enjoyed it and will be back when we feel like some southern style BBQ.
