I’m not totally sold on Drawbridge yet. The atmosphere is dusty and slightly suffocating(it’s dim and crowded), but the shopkeeper, who may have been the owner, was super nice. That alone made me want to come back another time. It’s packed to the gills in there with a lot of things I think would have been more appealing after a good dusting. I did see this cute vintage coat there that was priced at least 25% higher than the exact same coat next door at Lula. Weird that they’d have the same coat, but they did. For me, I’ll check Drawbridge out again when I’m in the neighborhood, but I probably wouldn’t seek it out specifically.

I poked my head in this store to get a feel for it and honestly, you’ll find some eclectic things here. Not only is the owner nice, and a bubbly social being, but he’ll help you out if you have any questions. Great variety as a store should have, look around you and you might find something you never thought you’d love.

Wandered into this place and found it jammed with«stuff», all seemingly very reasonably priced. Even without winter-wear on, this store is difficult to navigate simply because it’s jam-packed with stuff! Loved the 70s music.

Xmas shopping mini-review #3: Much like Bananie, I was quickly dissatisfied with Patina. In fact, I luckily recalled I had entered the place by accident. I had been intending to go to Drawbridge, and was much more satisfied when I did. What do you call this kind of place? It’s like a more hip version of an antique shop. «Vintage curios» is apparently the chosen moniker. Difficult to navigate in full winter wear(or an equvilant amount of good ol’ American body fat), the place definitely had a few interesting finds. I settled upon a something hipster-smirk worthy, one little piece in my difficult shopping agenda. However, I must deduct a star for the awful cheesy club dance music that was playing in the place. Okay, dude, I get it: you’re gay. But you’re killing the mood in here, for crying out loud.

Had just poked thru the Patina on the corner of Snelling and Selby– BIG sigh. Everything there was so much the same… quirky and easily unique, but still smacking of mass production. I walked away with nothing but a scented candle and a mild sense of dissatisfaction… But, LO! Right next door: The Drawbridge. Beckoning from the window was a beautiful 3 quart white enamelware pot, tipped in red. I popped in, was greeted by the owner and inquried after the price. SOLD! Instantly smitten with the tiny charms(or large chairs!) and singular service. Nothing like really supporting a local-LOCAL shop. If you’re looking for AUTHENTIC curiosities and surprising treasures this is the place! Even found a beautiful gold and emerald ring winking at me from under the glass when I was ringing up my little enamel bundle. Curses! The little lovely devil was too small for any of my fingers!
