I wish I’d mapped this place when we started going to it more than a year ago. Unilocal said it didn’t exist. This is a cool refurb of a DQ with attitude and good service. Their treats are pretty tasty and are similar in name to some of the corporate treats from the former establishment. One of the things we love most is that they have a small farmer’s market there on the weekends. Even though it’s family friendly, you get to meet some neat folks with great products and services. If you’re not averse to soft-serve, Icy Cup is a great alternative to corporate shops.

ICYCUPROCKS. The ice cream is exactly the vanilla soft serve you’d expect. They have all the basic DQ type of treats, but the coffee is the real hidden gem here. The owner actually owns a coffee farm in Mexico and serves up coffee from the beans he imports. Its locally roasted at J&S, wow! The outdoor seating is lovely and they donate the parking lot to the small-yet-mighty West Side farmer’s market Sat mornings. The Tamales are also really great. Only reason not 5 stars is that the chicken taco was super bland.
