Friendly service and good inexpensive lunch buffet. Nothing fancy here, but not bad at all for a quick lunch bite.

Good service. Bad General Tso’s chicken. The price was fair for the food. Overall not the worst but I would not return.

My daughter brought back leftovers of the Chinese food she had ordered. She ordered the Won-tons, Sesame Chicken and fried rice. She loved the won-tons and ate every one of them, she said they are one of the best she has had. She liked the sesame chicken and rice. I had the leftovers for lunch the next day which, was fairly good. The sesame chicken was flavorful and had a slight heat to it. The fried rice was okay, lacked the veggies other places usually add in. I would have given it a higher rating, but the chicken had a soggy outer batter, which is most likely due to being overnight leftovers. :) I will have to try them again, freshly made.

I have checked out this place a couple times for their lunch buffet. I am usually not a fan of buffets, but of all of the buffets I have been to, this one ranks as one of the more impressive ones. When driving around the area, I would suggest looking closely when approaching the cross streets of McKnight and Upper Afton Rds. Due to the size of the place and the small sign, this restaurant is easy to miss. It is located in one of their small plazas. My first time around the area, I drove past it four times and did not know it until I saw it. The employees appear to have a good eye at cleanliness and order. The two times I have been there, I did not have one problem with such. Therefore, I felt comfortable walking around, sitting there, and enjoying a good meal. The selection of foods is limited, compared to other buffets I have been. There are only six, may seven, items from which to choose. I understand that the restaurant is small; however, I still think they have more than enough room to at least triple the food selection. Of the few foods they have, they only have three that I like. That does not leave me much flexibility. The employees appear to have a good eye on freshness, sanitation, and keeping everything hot. Every time I walked to the buffet for food, the food was hot and fresh. The food was also delicious. On top of that, the prices of the buffet is cheap. I do not feel like I have to break the bank to eat a buffet. The employees are friendly and helpful. I felt comfortable approaching them when I was in need of assistance. They appear eager to please their customers. The waiter continually approached my table to ask me how everything was and to keep my water cup full. When I am in the area and in the mood for a buffet, I will continue keeping this place in mind. I do not expect a good selection, but I can count on the food quality being excellent.

Here’s the deal: Insanely cheap prices. The chow mein dishes are good. Lots of veggies, meat is tender, very good. But everything else was not good. As in we threw it away level not good. Kung pao was awful. Egg rolls were tasteless. Egg fu yung was the worst I have had. If McDonald’s made egg fu yung, it would be like these weird mushy perfectly round patties. Seriously, they were perfectly round like an egg McMuffin. No crispy imperfection. If you just want some yummy cheap chow mein, check this place out. Avoid the rest of the menu. Also, what is with the guys all loitering in front of this place? Almost twenty guys just standing around in groups. I mean, they weren’t ordering food and they weren’t on break from adjoining stores. They were just standing around doing nothing.

I love Mei Mei. Food is cheap, fast, and tasty! I always come back here for the Chinese food. I’ve tried other places near by that have great reviews but I think the food here is by far better.

Very poor-quality food. Old grease smell, food was cold. Do not eat here.

A lot like Leo’s, only it’s a tiny buffet. Food is so-so. Lunch is a deal for $ 6.00, but it’s quantity over quality. The place is popular with blue collar types who show up in grease-splattered or paint stained clothes. If you are a Niles Crane like me you’ll be bothered by the slovenly habits of your fellow diners. Onto the food… I tried everything. Nothing was awful, but a lot of it was bland. The fried rice was tasty. And my table mates raved about the donut-like pastries. The lady who waited on us was attentive and sweet. Overall, Mei Mei meets the needs of the people it serves. But if you like savory food and spice, and décor and decorum are important to you, then spend a little more money and head over to the delightful Tea House five minutes away.

This place isn’t much inside and can be cold at times, so just wear a sweater or overcoat while your eating. I don’t think I’d make a special trip out of the surrounding area, but I do from downtown. The main draw is a simple buffet for 5.95. It just seems to have what you need, not the gorge yourself buffets just cause it’s there. The soup varies, I especially like the hot and sour. The only other thing that varies is sweet and sour chicken and sesame chicken. My favorite is the the latter, and try to get it when it just comes out. It’s so delicious, however very sweet and diabetics wouldn’t be long for the planet. Another different item is strips of steak and porkchops, very addictive. The moo goo gai pan and kung pow chicken is always just right. Sometimes I’m even too full for the chicken lo mein or just the fried rice, both equally yum. Also notable are the fried chicken legs and springs rolls. I don’t bother with the chow mein, but other seem to like to pile it on their plate. A wide selection of canned soda, and coke and pepsi are offered. I’m one of those fetish nuts who has to have pepsi in the can and coke in the original bottle form. That’s only 50 cents or something. They have a great take out menu, which is a large part of their business. The owner acts like she’s really happy to see you, that’s the real warmth there.
