I could write a novel with why NOT to go here. From the abrasive billing department to the non-​compassionate or understanding Doctors… steer clear.
We have a son with Epilepsy. He was taken to Children’s in St. Paul (where the MN Epilepsy Group works out of).
Dr. Arkilo did not listen to me when I requested my son be placed on the Ketogenic Diet. I mentioned that I was trying my own version at home, but needed to be given access to the online database in order to do it correctly. He said «No, your son does not need to be in ketosis.», and disregarded all of the work and beliefs that our family had.
Months later I just booked his appointment for keto admission as he failed 2 medications (and that was what the Dr. requested happen). Those 2 medications made his Epilepsy MUCH WORSE, and we lived in a horrific hell for the 2 months the MN Epilepsy Group made us «wait it out».
Once our son was admitted for the Diet, he showed immediate improvements, and will be seizure free for a year.
After our son’s initial consult they billed us and when I called and said that we were working with MN Assistance they forwarded our debt to a collection agency BEFORE we could get approval for State assistance.
That is insane! It doesn’t end there… now we just received a letter stating that we are being SUED? This would have all been paid for if they just waited for us to be approved (which can take up to 3 months… but something they should know).
I am just sickened that this place does not listen, nor do they have an patience with finances. Money is the LAST thing on your mind when you are going through this, but somehow we managed to file for MN Assistance while going through this hell. sadly the MN Epilepsy Group had a much quicker timeline.

Saint Cloud, MN
Best clinic in the metro area for treating epilepsy. They have doctors that specialize in treating children, adults, women, and elderly. Different stages of life can affect seizures and side effects. It is great to be able to a go a clinic that has my best treatment plan a goal for their care. After years of dealing with testing and medications Minnesota Epilepsy Group found the best treatment for me to become seizure free.
