Ok so I’m on the fence here… I’m a super thrifter. Not my job but I’ve been doing it for years and I know prices and what’s worth what and in L. A where I’m from its competitive. So with that said… The GOOD: some great finds here. Especially the purse department. Clothes and shoes appear to be in great condition. No odors!!! And some great labels on the business clothes. Some cool leather pieces for great prices. Shoes were nice and clean. If you find something you can’t live without this is a great place to buy it… Shoes, purses, leather clothes and couture were the best bang for your buck. The NOTGOOD: I wasn’t impressed with the jewelry selection and prices at all. They need some sterling pieces and higher quality items and a larger selection. It’s EASY to find cheap jewelry at thrift stores for $. My biggest gripe would be that most clothes were geared towards an older age bracket and a little on the conservative side. Younger professionals may want some sassier looks. And I find Anne Taylor and some of the brands in the clothing section fairly easy to come by at the thrift stores.

I am on the fence about this idea… some of their prices are OK… some are just too high for used items… I don’t care who designed them… AND if you are going to tell someone on the phone that your store carries larger/plus sizes, then you better have some on the racks… and NO an XL is NOT a plus size… get some decent inventory in there… I donate them… where are they… Step it up Second Debut…

Nice clothes and shoes, but the prices are ridiculous. When you walk in the salesperson will give you her pitch. She says that their prices are 70% off retail. Nope!!! Not even close. I’ve seen clothes and shoes there that I know I could get new for less money. I understand they are in the business of making money for a charity, but I think they would make more money if their prices were fair. I do a lot of second-hand shopping and I would like to support this store, but they need to lower their prices. And they need to stop telling people that their prices are 70% below retail. That is a lie.

Okay, I’m calling shenanigans. I’m all for charging a little more for nicer clothing(even second hand – if it’s gently used), but there’s a line between a little extra profit and shenanigans. Hey, Second Debut 2 – if you want to charge over $ 50(I think it was around $ 100?) for a used Narcisco Rodriguez dress, go for it. It’s a designer brand and the dress retailed for much, much, much higher than that. Bargain! But don’t slap a $ 58 price tag on a pair of used juniors’ brand shoes and tell me they’re high-end because they’re «BCBGirls» and they«retailed for $ 200!»(I wasn’t arguing or anything – this information was volunteered when I picked up the shoe.) Guess what? I’m a shopper. No they didn’t. Just to be fair and confirm, I looked up said shoe online, and they’re charging pretty much the same price for a used shoe that you pay for the brand-new shoe. Shenanigans. And you know what? Talbots isn’t a high-end designer. Nor is Ann Taylor Loft. So you can stop charging $ 22 for a spagetti-strap tank top when it probably retailed for about that(if even a little less). I get what they’re trying to do – and as ever, the store is clean and well-organized(if still sparse) – but a little better research and a dose of retail reality is in order.

Since the Goodwill EasterSeals Industries opened this store in April, I’ve been there 3 times and have really enjoyed my visits. They sell designer casual/everyday wear, shoes, belts, and handbags. They also sell some scarves and costume jewelry. The staff are friendly, helpful, and not overbearing. The play music on a local radio station(jazz, oldies, classical, celtic). They offer but 2 dressing rooms; however, they are nicely sized. They also offer 2 bathrooms in the store that can be used as dressing rooms as well. Prices on clothing and shoes are very reasonable for the quality. Store is laid out nicely, and has plenty of open-feeling space. Lots of windows to let in plenty of natural light. I’ve been told that they get new stuff in practically every day(except for the weekends). I’ll be stopping in at this place time and time again, and especially whenever I stop in at the Goodwill store just down the street a ways.
