Tough day for them today. My chicken burrito was completely cold, and the side of potato rounds was cold and under cooked. When I asked for new rounds, they took some that were already cooked out of the container they’d staged them in and put them back in the fryer to cook a bit more. 30 seconds of cooking wasn’t enough to make them better. I went back a second time to explain how bad things were, and the response at the counter was«sorry,» with no offer to refund my money. I won’t be going back — there are too many other decent options in DT St. Paul for lunch.

I used to be a fan since I grew up on the hot chilitos served at Zantigo on Suburban Avenue in the 1970s &1980s. My visit on Monday this week was very disappointing in many ways. 1.) No towels in the men’s room. 2.) the place needs an interior paint job & a good cleaning 3.) rookie counter help couldn’t do basic math then actually short-changed me. 4.) No offer to make up for said short-changing & was given a snide comment instead 5.) obnoxious manager/older dude employee yakking on a cell phone behind the counter LOUDLY5.) The new Zanwich was somewhat overpriced and average-tasting. One more loyal customer lost. This place needs some serious help. The original Zantigo owners are spinning in their grave.
