Meh. I’ve never been to a psychiatrist before or a psychologist or anyone like that. However, I was legit having issues at work focusing(always have) and I must catch all details or someone could die. So I went here after a recommendation. I saw Dr Mandava. The wait to get in for an appointment was a few weeks and I got a packet to fill out before my first visit. The staff gets you in promptly to see your Dr after checking in. The office is weird because there’s a couch against one wall, her desk perpendicular, and two chairs across from the desk. Uhh where do I sit?! I chose the chair. There are two huge windows to look out which are super distracting! The first visit they go over your life and why you’re there. Now I just had ADHD which is why I was there. She gave me meds and I was on my way. First appointment impression — not bad. I come back in a month and this is where it goes downhill. Pretty sure they’re so prompt because you’re appt is like 8 minutes. Seriously. I have a medical background, especially in medications. So when I’m talking and saying how I feel, what I need, ect don’t blow me off! It felt like at each monthly appt I was just money. It didn’t matter what I said as it went in one ear bad out the other. I don’t expect this to be counseling, but, geesh at least listen to my answers and how I say the medication is working for me. One of the major non-compliance reasons is because the medicine doesn’t fit the patients lifestyle. Probably because the doctor didn’t listen. I want someone that will work with me to find the medication that fits my needs and life — not feel like $$$$ piling up. Quite frankly I’d rather find someone else on my plan. Side note: downstairs there is some kind of weird alternative school. The kids are super sketch looking when they stare at you through the doors and made me nervous.
